Taylor Swift's song "Mine" may have fallen off the Top 20.But BTD should be in there soon.

WTH? Rihanna's sales basically stayed flat from the week before! Its not like she gained 100k! That's part of the reason the argument is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that at 99 cents or 1.29 there is not price elasticity. Even then I would argue that users don't shop on price. I know I don't. It's not like purchasing a computer where a cheaper price can probably get more people to buy it. You're right, price drops don't help sales. The label just did it because they thought it would be fun to lose 30 cents on every single sold.

It's basically gonna be a battle between P!nk and Katy for the top spot on the Hot 100 next week! Yep! I think P!nk is gonna take it, as 'Firework''s iTunes lead isn't big enough to offset it's significant disadvantage in AI relative to 'Raise Your Glass.

Well, "All I Want For Christmas is You" should ascend another 20m-24m before peaking, but it won't be top the top. No "Oh Santa!" update? The combined pop bars for "Raise Your Glass" are close to those of "Firework," yes? So, RYG *should *have the overall advantage.

^ I think this year, revitalized by the new album's release, the song could go as high as 70m AIs.

Hmmm- where was it at this point last year? (day after Thanksgiving) If it were in a similar position, then probably not. But, if it's notably higher, then perhaps it may go higher than 50m or so. Still wouldn't be in contention for the "top," though.
Search dem old posts. :)

Couldn't find anything (esp not Mediabase figures). all I could find is that the week after Thanksgiving, it was #42 on Hot 100 Airplay with a +10m bullet that week. EDIT: It was around 29 million but that was on the Nov. 29th update. So the day after thanksgiving it was probably 21-23 M

I couldn't find any Mediabase numbers, but I did come across this digital sales mystery, very much similar to the "Betcha Gon Know" situation: -- 67 CAREY*MARIAH SILENT NIGHT 19969 999 675 60369

What was is position in the last digital song charts?
For the week ending on the 11/23/08 here was its position: 126 56 CAREY*MARIAH ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YO 20437 89 10813 961222

here's what bks wrote on the 11/28/08 :
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Here's how Hot 100 Airplay is shaping up w/ 5 days left before recurrents are removed:
(...)
Any song charting below No. 38 on Hot 100 Airplay is now impacted by Christmas music and would be charting higher (much higher the lower you go down the chart). Mariah Carey has the Top Christmas song right now at 38 followed by Burl Ives at 39."
now this was last year on the 11/29/09:
"Here's how Hot 100 Airplay is shaping up before recurrents are removed w/ 3 days left:
No. 42 - Mariah Carey (+10.0 million) All I Want For Christmas"

Rih coming for that #1! Add one more to her collection :) Plus. WMN is already Top 10 (and will be at #8 in a day or two). Two top 10 airplay hits.

Katy is ahead of Kesha in both sales and airplay, so she should be higher than #4 at this point. #2 would be incredible!!!! Now that Riri is #1 it would be great for Pink to take it and then katy take it so that no one is shafted with a #2 peak. I wonder who is going to take the 400k digital single sales this xmas season?

Yes, that "Silent Night" thing was odd (but, as we saw with "Betcha Gon' Know" and the trend of Memoirs' sales, those were not digital sales that should have went to the album or anything).
RE digital songs peaks for "All I Want...," I posted this in the Mimi thread a couple weeks back:
As an FYI, these are the peak weekly sales in the last five years for "All I Want For Christmas is You," its chart position on Hot Digital Songs that week, and the chart week it achieved those sales. In all cases except 2009, the week it achieved its highest sales coincided with its highest weekly ranking for the season.
2005: 41,376, #1, 12/24/05 chart 2006: 48,979, #8, 12/23/06 chart 2007: 60,846, #8, 12/22/07 chart 2008: 59,811, #16, 12/27/08 chart 2009: 73,043, #50, 1/9/09 chart (it had reached No. 14 on the 12/19/09 chart a few weeks prior, but with lesser sales of 54,765; the week prior to that, it ranked No. 18 with 62,682)

Last year I feel like we had two really huge songs at Christmastime with Kesha and Gaga. This year there seem to be a lot of songs doing well but none really "huge," hence a lot of turnover lately. I'm betting we won't see a song over 600k at Christmas time. I totally thought Gaga's new single would be out by now, though. Hmm.
