Not trying to be a smartass, but the conversation of Rihanna lowering her price to 99c is relevant to LAST WEEK'S chart thread, not this one. Why not take the conversation to THAT thread, and leave this thread for the discussion of THIS WEEK'S chart????? Because the discussion has wider implication than just Rihanna. It's about sales tactics and marketing in general. Now, this discussion about where things should be discussed is completely off topic and has successfully derailed the thread, which is why, in general, if you feel something is violating board rules, you should report it to the staff and not point it out in the thread. |

As soon as he ERA calms down they will move on to some other female artist that's doing well. If people are consistently posting things that annoy you guys, this board now has an ignore feature you can set on some users.
As for the Hot 100, we've had some pretty rapid turnover lately, huh? Especially if Pink goes up to #1 this week and then a different song next week -- that would be 6 different #1s in 6 weeks. Interestingly we sort of had something like that last fall with some rapid turnover, although it was only 4 songs.

Not to mention the fact that at 99 cents or 1.29 there is not price elasticity. Even then I would argue that users don't shop on price. I know I don't. It's not like purchasing a computer where a cheaper price can probably get more people to buy it. |

Back to the charts. How do People see BEP - The Time performing over the coming weeks. To be totally honest im kind of tired of the current top 20 and the songs that occupy it, i want a clean out. It seems like its been the same old artist occupying them all year. Yes i know we had a few new artists do well (Derulo, Taio, Nicki Jay Sean, Ke$ha, B.O.B, Bruno) but they all seem to be from the same damn mold. Plus New female artist havent been very successful this year. We need new blood. Hope the new year brings with it some fresh talent. (Jessie j) |

I'm not seeing the constant hate posts on Em really that much in comparison to many other artists. For some reason, the #1's of Rihanna seems to be more controversial than any "hate" against Em. I think that because you are such a huge Em fan that it seems worse than it really is when you see a post that is not praising him. I mean, how many of the other posters can say they dedicate 90% or more of their post to one artist. Most of us diversify more. I think you care about the accolade a lot more than many others.   |
