She IS contractually obligated to make Femme Fatale, release singles and promote to a certain extent. Blackout not being promoted was JIVE's decision, not Britney's, after the disaster at the 2007 VMAs. If she doesn't care, she will be at home with her kids soon enough, after the contract is over later this year. Have you read her contract, honey? #nopedidntthinksossoletsstoptalkinglikewehaveaight? Have you? I have worked for Sony and Universal a lot, recently for artists like Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Trevi, Nelly Furtado, etc, etc. I personally know Walter Kolm, the president of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, the Business Affairs Executive from Interscope Brian Alvarez and several people in the industry, one would think I'd have heard a little something about what a contract for a recording artist looks like. But whatever makes you feel better, #retard

^Nope, but I happen to be in law school, and have taken both the regular Contracts class and a Contracts Drafting class, and even recently attended a mock recording artist contract negotiation at which a panel of record label attorneys discussed the normal requirements of a major recording artist contract , so I know what a recording artist k looks like too.
But this is all moot, and since you're so familiar with the music industry legal affairs, you know, much more than I do, that an artist like Britney probably carries a lot more weight in her k negotiations and thus we can't really accurately speculate on the contents of her k b/c it probably isn't that similar to what a standard recording artist k looks like anyway

Because I can... This era she will have achieved a few records.
She will be in elite crowd of artists that have 3 singles reach #1 (Janet, Madonna, Usher) and 3 albums reach #1 (Whitney, Janet, Madonna, MJ) in 3 decades.
She will be the only artist to have 7 studio albums enter top 2 debut week.
Also, she will be the youngest artist to have 6 #1 albums and only artist to have 6#1 albums under 30.
Let's see: #1 albums 9-Barbra 7-Madonna 6-Britney 6-Mariah 6-Janet 5-Mary J. Blige 4-Whitney 4-Alicia
I hope she can get 10 #1 albums before she retires.
It would great to see this final number come in around 330k+
Well, I love how she has broken or achieve some record for each studio album era
Album/Song record achievements (feel free to list any that I have left off)
BOMT-youngest artist to sell over 6 million albums in the us. youngest artist to go diamond OIDIA-highest first week sales, youngest artist to have back to back diamond albums Britney-first female artist to have 3 of their first albums debut at 1. In the zone-first female artist to have 4 of their first albums debut at 1. Blackout-first album to get hijacked for their #1 album billboard b!tches... first female artist to have all 5 of her albums debut at either #1 or #2...i'm still mad LOL. Circus-first artist to have 4 studio albums debut with over 500k, highest digital sales for a female at the time. Highest jump to #1 at the time
Femme Fatale era -firstfemale artist to have all 7 of her albums debut at either #1 of 2 -youngest female artist to have 6 #1 albums (under 30) - the first artist to have multiple #1 debuts since Mariah Carey - the first female artist (2nd artist overall after Usher) to have at least a #1 hit in 90s, 00s, 10s, -#1 albums in 3 decades -#1 singles in 3 decades -youngest artist to have 6#1 albums -only artist under 30 to have 6#1 albums -youngest solo artist under 30 to sell 100 million records.
It's good to be a Britney fan right now

Anyone notice this is no longer dropping like a rock at radio?! In fact, it's stayed the same the past few days, and sales have increased on Itunes. I think this has a little more steam in it. BTW, saw the music video on VH1's top 20 countdown, and it really is awesome. Very hot!

No, it's probably just reached a spot where it will stay stable for the next week or so, but it's definitely not going to rebound.

I didn't say it was going to outpeak (well, you can't go higher than #1), but it has definitely stabilized, if not slightly increased.
And who says this won't go recurrent? It probably won't, but you never know. I could see it really stalling around number 30 (at Pop) for the next month or two.

I do hope it would stall for few more weeks And I find it funny that this song is now climbing iTunes. It's #45 now

I still have this stuck in my head. I just randomly start singing it.
I hope it sticks around for a few more weeks. It deserved better, tbh.

And I believe it only lost 10 spins from yesterday.....definitely doubtful of a rebound but I do think this can have a slow fall like "Piece of me" did. I still wouldn't be surprised if this went recurrent over time. Since this has been out only about 3 months I wouldn't be surprised if stations are still playing this at a moderate level.

Yep, some songs slow down their fall and then slowly fade away.

It's fall has definitely slowed down considerably. I hope this means it can go recurrent.

If anyone is still interested, this song moved up 16 spots this week on Hot 100. From 75 to 59 ;) 13 weeks on the chart. As long as it still appears on iTunes top 100, it'll stay on the chart for awhile :)
