She really did. That part where she flipped into her falsetto and just kept going up... She hasn't sung that high in YEARS. So proud!

I thought Christina sounded really good for the most part and she looked the best she has looked in quite some time. Overall this was a very good outing for her. :)

Aretha Frankin on Xtina's perfomance at teh grammys.
" LOVED it! The ladies all sounded so wonderful and they looked fabulous! All of them were dressed to the nines! I enjoyed each and every performance, especially Yolanda Adams doing "Spirit In The Dark" and... Christina Aguilera's rendition of "Ain't No Way," Loved them all! They all looked beautiful, I really liked Jennifer Hudson's outfit, those epaulettes on her shoulder pads were too sharp! Bravo ladies!!!"

All the reviews for the perfomance are positive but this one is my fav: "Music's biggest night" opened with a larger-than-life production number: five throaty women singing a half dozen Aretha Franklin hits. The Queen of Soul was hospitalized late last year for an undisclosed ailment -- she's denied it's cancer, but she hasn't been more specific -- and the Grammys paid tribute to the 18-time winner by booking Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Florence Welch (from Florence and the Machine) to belt out a few of the legend's signature songs. The brassy production number quickly devolved into a contest of "I can sing louder and sassier than you can!" with Aguilera winning handily. She finished "Natural Woman" with her trademark inflation of syllables ("You're the key to my peace of mi-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind!"), then tore into "Ain't No Way" with such power and precision everyone should forget her National Anthem goof at the Super Bowl. Hudson looked bored but sounded strong on "Respect," ending with a hand on a hip and an Everest-level run up the scale. After the performance, Franklin herself appeared in a video, looking shockingly thin but regal in a feathery white gown. (Last month, she told "Access Hollywood" that after the surgery she was "down to a rockin' 16!") She thanked supporters for card and flowers "and most importantly your prayers during my time of hospitalization," promising to attend the Grammys in person next year."
blogs.suntimes.com/music/2011/02/grammys_open_with_decibel-bust.html
and this one from ABC:
"The Grammys main event has kicked off with a star-studded Aretha Franklin tribute. Aretha hits were performed by Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride. Xtina stole the show. She's not letting her Super Bowl stuff-up get her down!"

I didn't care for it. But I actually don't like that song, so it wasn't really her. Anyways, I can't believe she tripped! Thank God is was zoomed out far enough that I'm sure most didn't catch it. Its like she's got this bad luck streak following her.

What does "You'll never born this way" mean?
As for Xtina's part, I thought her falsetto was scrumptious, but her belting was still splintered and unpleasant. A solid performance but hardly a triumph.

A solid performance but hardly a triumph. Agreed. I didn't think she outshined anyone, though they did all try. Everyone I was watching with gave the most praise to Yolanda, actually (and the least to Florence). Christina definitely sounded better than at the SB, and she had some really strong, powerful moments, but there were a few rough patches and hers just seemed like it required much more effort than anyone else. Anyway, the performance was solid and strong and everyone in the group pulled their weight. There's really no need for the dramatics and anti-Gaga images.

Her performance was flawless.

LOL I don't get what's funny, the sad attempt at stanning or the grammar fail? Either way, it wasn't.
