People get different reactions for doing the same thing because they're seen differently. Pink has built her image out of being a rebel who says what she believes regardless of whether it ruffles feathers, so when she blunty attacks someone else she gets less flak. Christina's subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) shade isn't received as well because it's perceived as catty, especially when she throws it at a similar peer who is at the time more successful than her ( e.g. Britney, Beyonce, Lady Gaga).
I think ultimately Christina's just flat out not very likable, which is why she gets such inordinate amounts of flak.

Some of Christina Aguilera's friends and business associates have been pleading with her for several months to get treatment for alcohol abuse ... TMZ has learned. As one source put it, "Maybe when she was married she was able to keep it under wraps, but it's out in the open now." And we've learned ... Christina's drinking became an issue in her divorce. Jordan Bratman voiced concern about Christina's drinking when they hashed out their child custody agreement but they ultimately agreed on joint custody. We're told Jordan has been mum since yesterday's arrest. It's unclear if he'll try and reopen the custody case. We're told Christina has shut down all attempts to get her into rehab ... at least until yesterday. Eh at least Pink's tweet gave new life to Xtina's stans. You can only get so much material in comparing week 1 greatest hits sales.
I wish Xtina the best. I don't like her but I have always loved her music.

Ok, did Chelsea Handler really call Matt the victim and say that it was Christina's fault he got a DUI? LOLZ. What a dumb thing to say. Personal responsibility is very, very important and he is just as much to blame as Christina. Hell, maybe even moreso since it was HIS body behind the wheel directly when he knew he was impaired. I am assuming Chelsea is on the blame Christina for everything including global warming bandwagon though.

^^ So, perhaps the mainstream does hold a grudge against Christina moreso than you and I thought. Admittedly, I am relatively naive to some of the "internet" views of artists, because the only internet music sites that I visit are this one and a few artist fan sites. Therefore, I have some tunnel-vision when it comes to this internet view of artists, such as Christina.
If a fairly mainstream talk show host like Chelsea Handler is making such vicious accusations against Christina, perhaps the public perception of her is more negative than I originally thought. ??
Regardless, events such as that from yesterday with scathing followup stories will not doubt lower the public perception of Christina. I have lost a small amount of respect for her because of her character, but I am more sympathetic to her situation since reading articles like the People one posted above allude to a possible substance abuse disorder (alcoholism) as an explanation for her more recent erractic and irresponsible behaviour.

Matt is not the sole one to blame for Christina's problems. She is 5 years older than him, she's a grown adult and a mother, she's choosing to have him as a boyfriend, she chose to get in the car with him even though he was drunk, she chose to drink 2 bottles of wine with him, etc. Sure things have gone downhill since she started dating him, but that's her choice!
