The Voice' gets Super Bowl ad from 'Friday Night Lights' director



You probably guessed NBC would promote The Voice during its Super Bowl coverage, but not like this: The network is going big with a special The VoiceSuper Bowl ad from Friday Night Lights and Battleship director Peter Berg.The 60-second ad is titled “Vokal Kombat” and plays off an element of The Voice that’s unique to the NBC singing competition: The judges’ swivel chairs that turn to face a contestant during the auditions when a judge hears a performer they believe is deserving of a spot on the show. Of course, if more than one judge turns around to face the stage, they must compete against each other as they try to win over the contestant to their team. The ad takes this rivalry to new heights, with Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green employing martial arts, weapons, and dirty tricks to win the battle royale.
The ad will make its debut during NBC’s presentation of the big game on Feb. 5, which is followed by the second season premiere of The Voice. A 30-second commercial in the Super Bowl costs an advertiser around $3 million, but NBC can air The Voice spot as a promo.

Out of Dr. Luke and Max Martin I honestly like Max Martin better. If you look at the full range of his work he actually has a bit more variety and range (at least in my opinion). I don't feel like she will get Tik Tok Part 34 or anything. I am hoping he comes through for Christina/us.

I also feel like some of his productions would fit in nicely with Christina. I have loved a lot of the pure pop or pop/rock stuff she has done. **crosses fingers**

YESSSSS. I need to dust off Bionic and play those uptempos again, especially NMT and WooHoo, which I always loved. Of course, I was mostly there for the amazing ballads, my favorite ballads of her career actually ("You Lost Me", "All I Need", "I Am"). I will even watch The Voice this season!

As much as I like it when she does really sexual songs, I don't think that's the right direction to go in with the first single. I think the first single should be an uptempo that is clean and catchy, then the second single could be a midtempo, and then third single can be an edgy sexy uptempo, then subsequent singles could be anything else.

Christina Aguilera Turns 31 With Star-Studded Bash

Christina Aguilera may have gotten off to a rocky start in 2011, but her troubles seemed far behind her when she celebrated her 31st birthday at L.A.'s Spare Room Saturday.
Joined by her fellow Voice mentors Adam Levine, 32, and Blake Shelton, 35, (with wife Miranda Lambert, Aguilera and guests dined on mini-sliders and quesadillas during the intimate soiree.
Aguilera invited 50 close friends and family members to fete the occasion. "Adam, Blake and Miranda all bowled," a source tells Us Weekly. Other guests played board games like Connect Four, checkers and backgammon.
"Christina's really competitive and wanted games to be part of the party," the source explains.
At midnight, Aguilera's boyfriend Matthew Rutler surprised her with a Marie Antoinette cake from Hansen's.
"Christina loves costumes and period pieces so it was perfect," the source says of the Burlesque star. "Everyone had a great time."

"Fuck Your Body"? Noooo :( It was bad enough for me to deal with one of my childhood idols releasing a parental advisory album in Bionic, but again?! Come on Christina. Can't the clean version just be the only version?

They had the same reaction with Enrique Iglesias Tonight (I'm Loving You) . Both examples used were still big hits.
