^1.187 million through this week's charts. But, she has at least another 3-4 weeks of strong sales left before things wind down.

id say X2 platnium would be more acceptable at this point. i understand certifying means shipping, but still wait till the album is at least somewhat close.

^ Yeah. I don't see the album scanning close to 3 million until at least the same time next year.

I agree that Flo Rida should just stop releasing albums. Release singles and remix EP's only.

^ Yeah. I don't see the album scanning close to 3 million until at least the same time next year. It does seem a bit premature, but "The Gift" will be at 2 million in about three more weeks, if sales stay steady through Christmas (which I'm sure they will). It's kind of like how some people can be double platinum before their first week is even over (I remember Clay Aiken's first CD was certified 2x plat the week it was released). But yeah, SuBo should have about 2 million in sales at the beginning of 2011, so it'll be interesting to see if it will continue to sell well even past the holidays. I think you're right that it will be awhile until it gets up near 3 mil.

The Susan Boyle album isn't a partial Christmas or half-Christmas album it is a Chritmas album
The Susan Boyle Christmas album won't sell much after Christmas

^It could hold up better than some other holiday albums, though, as half of the tracks are "inspirational." And since it doesn't have "Christmas" in its title, it's kinda like Enya's album, in that it's not necessarily tied to just Christmas. But, yeah, it's unlikely to hold up as well as the first album.

Virtually the entire album is religon-based Christmas songs(yes I know the Crowded House song isn't and I guess Aud Land Syne is more tied to New Years). It is classified as and being sold as a Christmas album so, not sure we will see too much of this one once we get into 2011

Songs on SuBo's album not really associated with Christmas are "Perfect Day," "Hallelujah," "Don't Dream it's Over," "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace" and "Auld Lang Syne." That's 50% of the album. :) Some are religious-based, but not necessariloy Christmas (i.e. "Make Me Your...") Of course, the appeal of "Auld Lang Syne" is limited and associated with New Year's.
I know what you're saying, though; I'm just saying that it may not drop as hard as most holiday albums usually do- that doesn't mean I expect it to hang around the top 10 for weeks after Christmas.

#6 for BEP? Eeeek Maybe now Will I Am will put away his autotune toy for a while and at least let us hear someone's voice besides his and Apl's. There really was no reason to rush this album, they actually had other songs they could have released from the End. Right now it is almost sad seeing the BEP go from a group that dominated the charts to a group that is "hijacking" Myspace to promote this mediocare album. If Will would have spend half the time into writing some decent lyrics, that he is putting into gimmicks this could have been good. The album is like a solo effort with background singers. The End had some songs like that, but overall the group all had some parts, and they did not ruin Fergie's voice constantly with autotune. I don't agree that The Time ruined the success of the album. It is in the top five of Billboard. I think people actually listened to the CD and did not want it overall. It fell pretty fast on ITunes. It just seems like success has went to Will's head, and it's sad to see someone nominated for producer of the year in the past, who used to make some decent music, reducing the group to chimpunk voices and mostly bad songs on an allbum. The BEP agent said that Fergie will be releasing a new CD in early 2012. They should have had her do it and waiting for another BEP album until after her solo release.

i see your still on your Bash Will.i.am crusade. I actually think will i am is a talented guy and a decent guy, but his ego is getting the best of him now and he is making stupid decisions with the music. The CD is like him with 3 back up singers - well actually 2- since Taboo does not exist. The numbers don't lie and the gimmicks are taking over what could be good music. And sorry, he is the one who one behind the assinine autotune shit he is overdoing. He was able to balance it well in the END, but this CD i s mostly bad.

Is anyone else here also offended by the fact that Taboo is barely given any lines in the new BEP music????
I mean, why give Apl all the lines in the second verse of The Time??? Why not give one to Taboo????

The album is great & the lyrics are actually better than many in The E.N.D., but I have to agree that the problem is that the album is Will.I.Am feat. The Peas minus Taboo. If people wanted to hear a Will album they would've bought his (I did, and I think it's good, as good as Fergie's? NO.), but it flopped. I really think with the right singles, the album will have decent legs

I really think with the right singles, the album will have decent legs I think the constant autotune, and Wil being the solo artist is hurting this CD but there are a couple of good songs. Overall Will is very savy, but when he releases a single from his soli album calling women ugly, it shows shitty judgement. Oh and he even did a duet with some contestant on x factor where she sang Fergie's part, which got him angry tweets from BEP fans, who felt he is not using her enough and think he wants to replace her .

Cher on X factor actually sang Will's part and then the chorus to Where is the love, then they sang IGF. People need to calm their asses down.

Cher on X factor actually sang Will's part and then the chorus to Where is the love, then they sang IGF. People need to calm their asses down. I don't blame Will for going after new talent as a producer, it makes sense. But he is acting like he is no longer really part of the BEP a lot of the time lately. He barely does press with the group when they are touring. The other guys and Fergie did a lot of interviews without him, and he acted super cocky for some interview in Brazil, almost walking off before it was done when the group was being interviews. And he did not even bother to send a damn video to help introduce Fergie for an award where she is honored by Billboard. I think it's fine for him to branch out, it makes sense at his age and he can't be touring with the BEP forever, but if he is going to do that, then don't rush to release another BEP album , when you are not even going to promote it, yes fly around performing duets with some x factor contestant. It just is as stupid move. Also, using the album to feature yourself is obnxoious, and just not smart when you flopped as a solo artist.

Just to keep accurate totals going, The Gift has scanned almost 1.188 million through 12/5, while Jackie Evancho's O Holy Night has scanned 526,000 and change .

The continued sales of that Jackie Evancho album are impressive. She's the first AGT alum I can remember having any sort of success.

It'll sell 1 million soon enough. One Of The Boys took even longer to reach what Teenage Dream already sold and it ended up selling a decent amount over 1m.

OOTB was also her breaking out introduction album (which tend to sell a bit lower and take longer to reach a total) and also didn't have nearly the promo or huge hits that this one has had. I know everyone is in hysterical happiness that she will reach platinum, but I still think that isn't a shriek home to momma great number. Like, I wonder if her label is in the same hysterical happiness that fans are? Probably happier about the singles. But, I suppose perhaps non-stop massive hits, non-stop massive videos, and absolutely non-stop appearances and promo really do only get platinum nowadays unless you are Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor, another country act, Eminem, maybe Britney/Pink (both sold close to 2 with last offerings unless I am remembering incorrectly?), or Susan Boyle. I think KEsha could have broken out of the platinum club too if they had handled her EP better >:(
