Katy perry released from the beggining a second version of E.T. Not when she realised when a No-1 position is possible. I wonder how can't u see soooo obvious things.

You can't compare their album sales cos album sales already decreased when Rihanna started her music career in 2005.
But you can compare this: Rihanna's team (probably) do many tactics to score as many #1s as possible to beat Mariah, just like what Mariah's team used to do to beat Elvis and The Beatles. Although their tactics are a bit different.
Rihanna: doing more duets, collaborations or songs with Rihanna as a featured artist, cutting the price of the single
Mariah: releasing single weeks after airplay reaches it high peak, cutting the price of the single, download day

Despite the (alleged) tactics used, Rihanna's career has been astonishing--both domestically in the US and abroad. There's really no need in diminishing her achievements. Not liking an artist's music is fine. Not caring for them as a person is fine. Often, however, these two artists (Rihanna & Mariah) are attacked because of their achievements...which is a questionable practice imo.
