Love the song, hate the video.
It's tacky and dull, with some good ideas/visual pieces at its core. Generally though, It's looks like the Disturbia video if Perez Hilton had vomited all over it.

My rating of the video B+  I haven't purchased the album yet but this is my first time hearing it in full...or first time remember hearing it in full. I love the song and understand why everyone thinks it is a #1 hit in the making. The video is fun and exciting but I kept on getting glimpses of past videos in my head. I almost felt as though they could have gone a little further one way or the other. For instance, if it were poking fun go all the way with it or if it was meant to be sexual push the envelope. It is kind of in the middle for me. Overall, I would have like to see more of the newspaper background scenery but I think this will definitely serve its purpose as far as promotion for the album. I wonder what the 4th single will be... |

I thought the beginning of the video was pretty brilliant, as is the bridge, but the random visuals just seem that...random. Some are more visually arresting than others, but it doesn't do a favor to the surprising take the beginning had on the song. B+.

I'm worried this may not smash as everyone predicted. It's spin increases are much lower than OG and WMN? at this point. I know both of those are still being spun, but I was hoping that for every spin those lost, S&M would gain....it's not even gaining half at this point. What's wrong???? :(

A 3rd single is gonna have a different pattern than that of a single that makes it premiere on radio. In 2 weeks, if it's still getting updates less than 100 spins, then we may actually have a debate over whether this will smash as big as predicted or not.
