Beginning with this next chart, Mediabase is making adds and drops to all of the published panels. Since CHR/Pop is getting the most significant changes, I thought I'd post what the panel is gaining and losing as a part of this shift:
Added to the panel: KLCA/Reno, NV (Independent - moving from Hot AC to Pop) KQMV/Seattle, WA (Independent - this leans Rhythmic) KZBD/Spokane, WA (Independent) WJLQ/Pensacola, FL (Cumulus) WKOS/Johnson City, TN (Citadel) WKXJ/Chattanooga, TN (Clear Channel) WNFN/Nashville, TN (Cumulus) WRNW/Milwaukee, WI (Clear Channel) WRWM/Indianapolis, IN (Cumulus) WSKX/Portsmouth, NH (Clear Channel - this one looks fairly nationalized) WZNY/Augusta, GA (Independent)
Dropped from the panel: WSTR/Atlanta, GA (Independent - moving from Pop to Hot AC)
This should bring the panel to 152 stations. I can't remember the last time it was over 150.
EDIT: Stations aren't going to be added to the panel until Saturday, December 18.

i bet we'll see a +1000. Before it was just 1 or 2 stations being added, this time it's 11.

While I like the idea of more stations being added, I want the spin ceiling for #1 to come DOWN. We don't NEED songs getting 13,000 spins a week. And just when it looks like it's gonna come down to a more reasonable level, they do this.

The fact the Mediabase panel has 100 stations or 200 stations doesn't (directly) affect the real world. =P
I mean, a no. 1 song is getting 14,000 (15,000?) spins per week regardless of how many stations are in the published reports because stations that aren't there don't just suddenly vanish from the airwaves.
The only thing that will change that is the death of the policy that sets a song being played 100+ times per week. But what happens is the opposite, so let's see if any of the songs will be able to break California Gurls' record of spins per station per week with a bigger panel.

Even more stations! Do we really need the #1 song having 14-15 thousand spins per week? That's just ridiculous.

I still can't believe that KAMP wasn't moved to Rhythmic - they won't even play Raise Your Glass!!!

I am looking forward to the addition of these stations with the exception of kqmv which is similar to AMP and KIIS but still 10 out of 11 will be refreshing. Still, I agree with you atlantaboy that they moved WSTR but not kAMP.

The top 40 format record for SPSPW (Spins Per Station Per Week) still belongs to Nelly & Tim's 'Over & Over'; 'California Gurls' ranks second in that category.
Keep in mind that both 'Over & Over' and Linkin Park's 'In The End' reached #1 @ R&R/Mediabase despite being IGNORED by over a dozen CHR/Pop reporters.

The list I pulled when we had access to Mediabase didn't give the record to "Over & Over". Maybe their historical records are messed up, but if you have the correct chart saved, I'd like to see it. Thanks.

Well finally STAR 94 will be moved to HAC, where it belongs. The station has seriously leaned that way for a couple of years, and it is nice to see it move to a more appropriate format. Plus, this gives the Atlanta market its first official HAC station.

The effect took place with today's update. "What's My Name?" gained 12m+. The highest was Firework, though, with 12.811 AI gained. I wonder what the new spin peak will be now.

PLEASE NO. The spin ceiling is already waaaaaay too high. You could easily shave 3000 spins each off the top 5 songs, 2000 spins off #6-10 and 1000 spins off #11-15. All up that's 30,000 spins that, if distributed between the rest of the chart, means that more songs might actually stand a fighting chance on the chart instead of being prematurely killed because stations would rather play the airplay top 5 like 300 times each.
