Second single from "7th Symphony". Featuring Brent Smith, although allaccess has it done as Hoobastank's Doug Robb ???
I still would have gone for "Broken Pieces". This is Brent Smith overkill.
Goes for adds January 18th.

If AllAccess has it as Doug Robb, then my guess is that's who'll be on the radio version of the track. Maybe Shinedown's label is worried about the Brent Smith overkill at radio, or just wants to limit him to Shinedown and other Atlantic Records releases for radio. This is kinda like the Chris Daughtry record label issue with Sevendust "The Past" or Santana's "Why Don't You & I" which had a version with Chad Kroeger and a version with Alex Band that radio played.

I didn't actually think of that. I hope you are right.

Billboard.biz had this listed 3 weeks ago as "featuring Tipe Johnson." So maybe there are three versions. I didn't start it then because I've never heard the song and it was noted that Diane Warren wrote it.

Either way, "Broken Pieces" shoulda been the second single. Then this third, obviously. And it might be possibe that this may have a different featured artist, because of both the Shinedown/Brent Smith overkill and possible record label troubles about releasing this which another singer from another label who doesn't want their artist to be released on another label, blah blah blah (like Santana's "Why Don't You & I" with Chad Kroeger, and got replaced by Alex Band I think).

i don't like the idea of putting another version of a song featuring another guest vocalist. it's stupid.

Looks like my explanation appears to be true. :( No offense bud, but you sorta plagiarized your explanation from mine. Read earlier in the thread. I beat you to the bunch I'm afraid.

None of the tracks on this albums are as good as "I'm Not Jesus", "I Don't Care", or "SOS".

Actually my explanation said 3/4 of what you said, except I explain why the would release this with another artist as what happened with Chad Kroeger in "Why Don't You & I". But that's only if you were implying that. Sorry if it pissed you off,

XM now is playing the Doug Robb version. I'm guessing the Tipe Johnson and Brent Smith recordings have been scrapped.

look at this
"a source told The Pulse Of Radio that APOCALYPTICA failed to secure the right to release the song to radio with Smith's voice on it from SHINEDOWN's label, Atlantic Records."

^ I think that's what everyone assumed had happened. Atlantic didn't want the Brent Smith show on radio.

The version with Doug Robb. The quality isn't the best, but it's good enough to tell that the Brent Smith version is far better. There's no way they could have released that to radio, though.

It's a shame because it's obvious the song was meant for Smith and hearing Robb having to basically be Smith on the song is unfair to both Smith and Robb.
