"Broken Pieces" should've been next with the whole Brent overload on radio. Then they should've released this (Brent version, obviously) afterwards. They would've had 3 successful singles then. I think this choice may mess up their era.

I think this choice may mess up their era. You're assuming they would've been able to release the Brent version if they used it for a third single. It's more likely that they'd have to end up doing this anyway.

^ I forgot the factor of Brent's label dispute over using his vocals on the single. Maybe this was their only chance in releasing this song

I guess it's because I've heard the Robb version far more times than the Smith version (7 to 1 maybe?), but I like this current version much better.

Smith wins in hands down for me. I'm sure radio would haven't been too keen on recieving another single from him, though.

I support the Hooba above all. No reason to be Running Away from the radio version of this song. There really has been enough Shinedown on the radio recently.

Yeah, but I don't think Doug's voice fits this song as well. Brent Smith's voice is more suited for a slower rock song than Doug's. Doug's voice is more well-suited for more uptempo rock songs (I know "The Reason" was huge, but I thought his voice and the arrangement and the lyrics were all super cheesy for a song of that style. This is still a quite good song though regardless of who is singing on it, and I hope it can net them a #1 on active.

one of the most anticipated rock singles of this year (if not THE most anticipated) has turned into one of the biggest disappointments due to the issue with the change of the vocalist on the radio..sad..:(

Most anticipated rock single? Pish Posh. Metallica would be up there if they decide to release one at the end of the year.

Don't shoot me, but I'm going to agree with Jorge here as far as my personal taste in music goes as well. I've never really been a huge fan of Metallica even in their epic days, but I can't deny how they've made a much larger impact on music in general today than Shinedown has. Hell, it's not even close.

Hell, it's not even close. to close this talk, i never said i don't respect Metallica, anything but that..i really like many of their songs, i have in mind their achievements and how important they are in the history of hard rock/heavy metal music, i just felt it was right to compare them with a newer band like shinedown only because i feel so much respect about brent's band, metallica is a really gigantic band (nobody can deny it). I said that i prefer shinedown's music because it's more in my style and i don't remember when it was the last time that i liked every single song from a band, now about metallica i must say that i'm probably one of the few that I prefer their newer thrash-metal sound

I don't know what you mean by newer thrash metal sound since they're one of the Big Four of thrash metal, but I do understand. Part of me is just kidding around, although part of me admittedly does rankle when people piss on certain things I find to be amazing. Also I've been feeling less respect toward Shinedown lately due to constant rumblings that they've been lipsyncing their performances of late.

If I get a break from moving Sarah's stuff in of course. There's other bands that I know you'll kill me for for saying I like Shinedown better than them for, but I think I'll leave it for the chat when I come up ;)

They're both great, talented bands under different contexts. There's no need to be choosy over either of them.
Now, if you said you'd sooner listen to Saving Abel than Metallica, we'd need to talk.

I enjoy both bands as well, I'm not sure which one I like more though. Never really thought about that.
