Madonna's W.E. release date pushed back to February 2012?According to Hollywood Reporter, Madonna's W.E. US release date has been moved to Feb. 3, the Weinstein Co. confirmed Wednesday. Reportedly, the switch in plans also is designed to take advantage of Madonna's performance at the Super Bowl on Feb. 5. Read more: drownedmadonna.com/#ixzz1dLkfGTnC Oh no!! That's not good. If the response to the movie is really bad in the U.S. and coupled with a less than stellar public response to the performance (even if the hardcore fans love it), it could be totally disastrous for her new project (before someone calls me out as a Debbie Downer, I'm just being realistic here). I just feel this horrible foreboding feeling that the project is going be seriously derailed by various things along the way.

The financial failure of Madonna's awful films (save Evita, her only box office success) has never impacted her stellar music career. Why would that change now?

I wouldn't worry, she would be a fool to clutter her performance with new material.

Body of Evidence came out after Erotica and the Sex book, though, so that less-than-stellar work completed the trifecta. (Erotica isn't bad, but it's not her best).
Madonna's been in other box office hits, but, yah, Evita is her only leading-role film that performed well.
Not sure why they think the SB would have much to do with W.E., but alright. And if that's true, that means no ballad to tide us over until the album's first single. Well, unless the movie still opens in a couple of major cities next month? If so, that's a good gap between then and a larger rollout. Unless the larger rollout ends up not happening.
RE the music- Drowned Madonna posted that the video shoot for GMAYL may occur early next month.

I agree with HolidayGuy in the fact that the SB has nothing to do with W.E. other than most women go to the movies on SB Sunday and the film is targeted for women. A suposed beautiful song has been written for the film per Guy and Orbitt. Maybe not only will it be in the score soundtrack but will be included in her new album like Die Another Day in AL.

I think the speculation is the the ballad will be W.E.-only, but things change. If the album is more uptempo, it would be out of place, too.

Madonna and Smirnoff will be celebrating the best nightlife experiences around the globe including discovering the best dancer to join Madonna's dance crew at Roseland Ballroom tomorrow, Saturday, November 12, 2011. With Shay Normann as the artistic director and choreographer for the event, the eleven finalists have also been working with Madonna's long-time choreographers Rich + Tone, in hopes of winning the top prize. Madonna has hand picked DJ and Producer Martin Solveig to headline the event. Solveig has been collaborating with Madonna in the studio for her upcoming album. Hardy "Indigo" Muanza and Vikter Duplaix will also be spinning custom mixes. Will You Be There? ------ Hope we get some good pictures from this event tomorrow night and/or some great youtube video!

Erotica is pure, raw Madonna genius. May not have been a stellar seller (due to the subject matter, not the quality), but it is considered by many to be one of her top 3. ;)

Her "SEX" book killed Erotica. People thought she went to far and didn't give the album a chance. Erotica is pure brilliance in my opinion. One of my top albums next to Confessions and American Life. Speaking of American Life, that is another album of hers people didn't give a chance. It is electronica bliss!

Always appreciated the intent of Erotica and I like it- it's just a little too cold/icy for me (that was the point of it, though).
As for American Life- for me, it didn't distinguish itself far enough from Music. It went into the folky some more, but I think she should have collaborated with at least one other producer, to spice things up a bit. Some of the tracks are pretty pedestrian (for Madge) in production, and even something like "Nothing Fails" (which was one of my favorites from the start) was like a slowed-down "Don't Tell Me," sonically.

AL is great IMO a more cohesive record than Music, which had superior tracks when you look at them individually but as a whle AL IMO works better. Hollywood is her best.

Erotica is a contender for my favourite Madonna album. Potentially her most underrated, and I'm so glad she had the guts to release it, whether it worked for her at that point in her career or not.
I enjoy American Life every now and again (and LOVE Hollywood), but it was a misstep. The tracks end up sounding quite samey (i.e. boring) and AL the song (whilst an obvious lead-in because of its message) just wasn't single material. The album is more cohesive, but I don't think that necessarily makes it stronger. Tracks like M&F, Intervention, I'm So Stupid... they're just pointless. She should have ditched those and got somebody else in. All of that said, it wasn't the material that caused the problem, it was the backlash against her and her 'message' - same situation with Erotica. I'd say the former album is rated correctly; it wasn't slated, it received mixed reviews, which were justified.
Music is great, but yes uneven.
Love Hard Candy when it came out, but it hasn't aged well with me at all.

Erotica is genius. I loved every bit of it.
My least listened to album is American Life. It just feels so empty and those lyrics make me cringe.

"Hollywood," Mpol? I find that track to be one of the weaker ones- though I do like some of the remixes more than the album version. Same for "Love Profusion"- the Headcleanr mix is a sonic improvement. I also liked the Headcleanr mix of "American Life"; the original, I think, tried to be too many things in one track.

New Madonna Song Leaks As Rumors About Next Album Build
November 10, 2011 By Keith Caulfield
In response to the leak of a demo of Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Love," the artist says: "My true fans wouldn't do this." Madonna said that to her manager, Guy Oseary, who took to his Twitter (@guyoseary) on Nov. 9 to address the leak.
"The plan was for new music to come out in the new year, and yet someone leaked a demo version of a song yesterday," he tweeted. "I'm very happy with the positive reaction to the demo, but we are very upset with whoever leaked the song!!!"
The previous day, two short snippets of "Give Me All Your Love," the alleged first single from Madonna's upcoming album, found their way to the Web. A few hours later, the entire song-a swirly, cheer-like retro-pop stomper-materialized.
Oseary went on to respond to questions from fans, saying that the album doesn't yet have a title, nor is it finished. "It should be done in the next month or so," he said. In the meantime, sources say that the final version of "Give Me All Your Love" may feature guest turns from M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.
Madonna's forthcoming album will be her first studio release after leaving Warner Bros. Records and entering an all-encompassing deal with Live Nation. Sources suggest the effort will find a home within Universal Music Group in the United States, likely at Interscope Records. Madonna's last release of any sort, the 2010 live record "Sticky & Sweet Tour," was issued through Warner Bros., despite the artist having already exited the label.
Fellow Live Nation deal-maker Jay-Z released his last two studio sets on two different labels. 2009's "The Blueprint 3" was handled by Atlantic and distributed by WEA, while this year's "Watch the Throne" collaboration with Kanye West arrived on Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam and Universal Music Group Distribution.
Madonna's last studio set, 2008's "Hard Candy," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 280,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her total U.S. album sales during the SoundScan era (1991-present) stand at 26.9 million.
In September, Madonna said the new album was aiming for a spring release, with its first single due in February or March. One of the set's co-producers, William Orbit, recently posted a note on his Facebook profile saying the album would be "mastered at the end of this month." That timeline seems to synch up with a release in early 2012, as previously announced.
Also in the rumor mill: Madonna may perform at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show on Feb. 5. The singer's publicist told Billboard in October that there was "nothing to confirm or deny at this time." Since then, M.I.A.'s and Minaj's names have entered the mix, suggesting they could join Madonna for a performance of "Give Me All Your Love" during the show. But again, there hasn't been any confirmation from Madonna's camp.
And next year will also see the debut of Madonna's global lifestyle brand called Truth or Dare by Madonna. The business enterprise, a joint venture among Madonna, Oseary and Iconix Brand, will initially introduce fragrances, accessories, footwear, handbags and intimate apparel. Previously, Madonna's collaboration with Iconix yielded the Material Girl line of juniors fashion, available exclusively at Macy's in the United States.
Until then, Madonna will be busy with the promotion of her film, "W.E.," due for U.S. release on Dec. 9. She directed and co-wrote the movie, which focuses on the relationship between King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Oseary confirmed that Madonna has written a ballad for the movie. And while he didn't indicate that she would be singing the tune, it's presumed that she will.

Counting Evita, it would be 28.9 million albums in the SS era.
M best be sangin' that ballad from W.E., as we need something to tide us over before the album's lead single drops.

Has M's team given the show clearance to perform her songs? www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/x-factor-rihanna-gaga-madonna-260596Next Week's 'X Factor': Lady Gaga-Madonna Night Scrapped for Rock Theme, Rihanna to PerformJudge Simon Cowell also tells THR why he "hated" last week's elimination episode, which he says felt "a bit 'Idol.'" 11/11/2011 by Shirley Halperin Thursday’s X Factor featured two eye-popping guest turns: Willow Smith, up first with her latest single “Fireball,” complete with requisite pyro, followed by Jessie J, who delivered “Domino” while wearing a skin-tight color wheel bodysuit. Now comes word (via judge Paula Abdul) that next week’s performer is none other than Rihanna. The theme for Wednesday's show? Rock-N-Roll, revealed Simon Cowell. It’s all still a work in progress, Cowell told the Hollywood Reporter following the elimination episode (which sent Stereo Hogzz home), going so far as to say he “hated” last week’s show. “I didn’t think the production was very good, I didn’t like the guest artist [Outasight], we all looked tired,” he explained, adding that it felt "a bit Idol, like, 'You'll find out... after the break.' Where have I heard that before? I don't like that. I can always feel the energy, and I’ve got to admit, sitting there last week was hard work. This week, it all felt better -- like we clicked.” The contestants are settling into their roles, too. At a viewing party held at the Pepsi House in the Hollywood Hills on Thursday, the 10 artists mingled with judges, sponsors and media alike while reliving the stress of hours earlier. Of course, the pressure picks up right away as the acts and their mentors decide on rock numbers to sing next week. Originally, the theme was supposed to be Lady Gaga and Madonna, Cowell confirmed. So what happened? “I changed my mind,” he said. “What I like about Wednesday’s show was the idea of someone, particularly Astro, using the whole stage without props. And I thought doing Lady Gaga and Madonna could get a bit too choreography-led and also too restrictive for someone like Astro. Rock music gives you a better chance to use the whole stage like we did on the auditions: just you and a huge platform behind you and make it like it’s your first concert.” For his part, judge L.A. Reid is pumped at the possibilities. “If I were to use the Rolling Stone magazine list of the 500 greatest songs of all-time, it isn't limited to what we think of as rock,” he said. “There's Otis Redding, there's Bob Marley, there's Ike and Tina Turner, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles… I don't know what that criteria might be, but I'm gonna stretch that envelope as wide as I can.” And one group is starting strategize as fast as they can: the nearly eliminated, Ladoka Rayne. “We're gonna amp it up,” said group member Dani Knight. “We're gonna step up to the plate and find something to show America that we deserve to stay here.”

Give Me All Your Love is going to be a huge hit! People are converting from haters to lovers everyday. It's truly amazing! I haven't heard it in a week and i'm still singing it all day long. It's refreshing, it's upbeat, and it doesn't let go of you, even if you hate it. You won't be able to get it out of your head. Some members at Mtribe, who have been haters from the get-go, have given up and rejoiced! It sucks you in. You'll see.

Martin Solveig Talks Leaked Madonna Song France DJ and producer Martin Solveig is posting on his Facebook fanpage about TONIGHT Madonna's dance event in collaboration with Smirnoff at Roseland Ballroom in New York. He will be there and playing for an incredible night! "L*U*V MADONNA. Let's forget about the leak and celebrate a collaboration I'll keep in mind forever. Tonight Roseland Ballroom NYC with the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange project." Solveig is talking about the leak of Madonna's Give Me All Your Love, which he co-produced. Then, replying to previous comments, he stated that leaked track "is a demo." Also SIA was working on some tracks for Madonna's forthcoming album, but at the end none of her songs made it on the record she confessed twitting to her fans.
"To answer your questions, none of my songs made it on the Madonna record," SIA tweeted. "My ego gently weeps."ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/64332632.html
Sad that none of Sia's tracks made it onto the record. :'(
