I know Black Friday isn't what it used to be for music, but it is surprising how few major artist releases are left for the rest of the calendar year.

Ye releasing 3 albums in less than two months seems kind of a stretch to me.
1/23/2024 By Anna Chan
2023 may have featured massive releases from artists such as Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Versions of Speak Now and 1989), Drake (For All the Dogs and its Scary Hours edition), Bad Bunny (Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana), Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday 2), Morgan Wallen (One Thing at a Time) and many others, but 2024 is shaping up to be a strong year as well.
Albums scheduled for release include Jennifer Lopez’s long-awaited ninth studio album This Is Me…Now, the follow-up to her 2002 release This Is Me…Then. Also planned? New albums from Usher, Ariana Grande, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow and many more. Among them as well is the Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign collab Vultures, which has moved its release date from 2023 into the new year — and is now a three-parter.
Though projects are announced, they’re sometimes delayed for various reasons, or even announced just days in advance, so keeping track of when artists’ albums are coming can be difficult. To make it easier for fans, we’ve compiled this release calendar so the biggest and most anticipated releases won’t be missed when release dates come and go.
The list is organized chronologically by month and week, and includes genres from pop, hip-hop, rock, K-pop, Latin, country and beyond. Keep reading for our running calendar of the major album releases coming in 2024.

But she wasn’t the only superstar to take advantage of a big stage to announce a new project. Beyoncé revealed during her Verizon Super Bowl 2024 ad that new music was coming, then made her album announcement and dropped two singles within minutes.

This year's announced album releases are already looking much better than last year's at a comparable time. Regarding Vultures 2 and 3, I would put an asterisk on those announced dates after what happened with Vultures 1's messy release.

We'll be updating this list as new records are announced, so check back often!
Albums scheduled for release include Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism, and more from Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow and many others. Among them as well is the Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign’s three-volume collab Vultures.
Plus, who can forget Swift’s big reveal? The pop superstar announced that her 11th studio set, The Tortured Poets Department, while accepting the best pop vocal album Grammy for Midnights — her lucky No. 13 Grammy at that! — would be arriving in the spring. But she wasn’t the only superstar to take advantage of a big stage to announce a new project. Beyoncé revealed during her Verizon Super Bowl 2024 ad that new music was coming, then made her album announcement and dropped two singles within minutes.

Lurker here for awhile, and man as a Millennial who loves pop music (especially female artists), this could be such a cool year for big mainstream albums! We had Ariana’s and J Lo’s, we know Dua, Bey and Taylor very soon… but we’ve also had hints of albums from the likes of Gaga, Lana, Billie, Lorde, Katy, maybe even Mariah(!!!) as potential 2024 drops as well. All we need is for Ms. Fenty and Ms. Spears to come out of retirement this year + a surprise Adele drop, and it would literally be the Super Smash Bros “everyone is here!” year of pop music haha.
Not holding my breath on those last 3 (I wish lol), but imagine the Grammy showdown next year if all of the others mentioned hit the deadline! Plus probably the two biggest guys in pop are coming too it seems with Bruno and The Weeknd being likely for this year, both of whom would surely be in AOTY contention as well.
