these guys should have great success on the rock charts, like their fellow brethren BFMV.

Just realised that these guys are on Sumerian Records, which makes them the first band from that label to be pushed to radio. I would have prefered Periphery to have been that band tbh.

Sumerian-core...the greatest genre of metal. And Periphery is the most djent-y of them all. Google "djent" and you'll understand. Periphery is quite djentile. :) hehehe

these guys should have great success on the rock charts, like their fellow brethren BFMV. Um, kinda doubt it, unless they've erased all the screaming and hardcore from their pitifully dated sound. Where were these guys in 2003 when they actually would have been interesting?

Probably listening to Bullet For My Valentine Atreyu, From Autumn to Ashes, Poison the Well, Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Bleeding Through, As I Lay Dying, Eighteen Visions, etc. and thinking, man, we should be making stuff like this. Fixed. I will give them credit, though: their use of rave beats/synths, like 3/4 into the 2 songs I checked out hasn't been done to death, but until the songs get there, you're just kind of pitying the guys, especially since they break out the guitar swinging, hair swoops, and choreographed stances almost as soon as the videos start.

Screaming eraseed? This may actually stand a chance. Still forgettable, but given A Day to Remember & Escape the Fate's recent success, who knows.

This kind of song would typically be right up my alley, but it never really goes anywhere or has any memorable lyrics. I'm also writing this right after I played the video.

Wow. SMH Screaming eraseed? This may actually stand a chance. Still forgettable, but given A Day to Remember & Escape the Fate's recent success, who knows. Yeah, you're not kidding. It's almost comical how accessible this new song is.

The song title evokes an "early" Simple Minds song, though I know that would be erased if I heard it. That would disappoint me, as well.

I went and listened to "Starseed" straight after seeing that. Anyway, yeah, this sounds like a different band. I'm sure die-hard fans will be screaming "sell-outs", whilst radio rock lovers will be licking their lips.

While this is kinda a sell-out move, I gotta say that I like this better than the average radio-tailored metalcore song and more than the average charting song at active rock radio. I think the presence of keys and the instrumental intro and bridge help me like the song a decent amount. This has more of an epic factor than All That Remains, Bullet For My Valentine, and s/t era Killswitch that put it a cut above all of those in my book, and way ahead of ADTR who I don't like at all as I've previously mentioned.
