YAS at Masterboy!!!

"Are You With Me" is so catchy that it's hard to let it go. I might do "Reality" but it didn't wow me as AYWM did. We'll see. Armin does strongly here on EDGE FM. Lots of number ones over the years with him. Hoping it goes number one on your chart. And yep, 3LAU & Emma Hewitt debuting strong. Have a feeling it will be a success here. I do seem to have a bad habit of holding on to songs for a long time especially former number ones. Had a feeling you'd recognize Masterboy. I still have their "Generation Of Love" album which I think was released in 1995 and a few of their songs and productions was on that DMA Dance Eurodance compilation. Other songs I liked from Masterboy was "I Got To Give It Up", "Feel The Heat Of The Night", "Mister Feeling", Land Of Dreaming", "Porque Te Vas", Anybody (Movin On)" and more. Thanks Albie.

STATION NOTES:
So who would've thought that Mr. Michael Knight from Knight Rider, Mr. Mitch Buchannon from Baywatch, the Hoff himself David Hasselhoff would ever be number one on EDGE FM let alone have a song of his on my weekly chart? I sure didn't. And he's number one for the week ending July 19. It's his first song to chart as well as his very first number one on EDGE FM's history. At number two is Borgeous & Lights "Zero Gravity" while The Chainsmokers "Let You Go" comes in at number three. Keep your eye on that one. Amazingly both Armin van Buuren and Lost Frequencies are still in the top five. Talk about staying power! I am expecting 3LAU & Emma Hewitt to make it to the top ten next week.

No debuts for the week charting but Robin Schulz's "Sugar" will definitely debut next week. I'm really liking that one. And the three classics of the weeks are all 90's dance songs from DJ Company, Bellini and 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor.

A new number one for the week ending July 26 and it's The Chainsmokers "Let You Go". It's their very first on EDGE FM's history. And clibing up to an impressive number two is 3LAU & Emma Hewitt's "Alive Again". I'm a fan of Emma Hewitt as she was number one before as a featured with Dash Berlin as well as one of her solo songs a few years ago. Alesso's "Sweet Escape" is a surprise since I was getting a little burnt out on it as of late but pick things up for the week and comes in at number three. Lost Frequencies "Are You With Me" still hanging on to the top five which is unbelievable while Kygo's "Firestone" is at number five.

Three former number ones is at the top ten which is Armin van Buuren & Mr. Probz, David Hasselhoff and Borgeous & Lights. There is also two new debuts for the week and it's Robin Schulz "Sugar" and the lovely Christina Novelli's "Same Stars". And the past favorites for the week are Jonathan Peters presents Luminares 1999 trance classic "Flower Duet 99", Lazard's "4 o'clock (in the morning)" and Angelic's "Can't Keep Me Silent".

A new number one for the week ending August 9th and it's DJ S.K.T & Rae's deep house track "Take Me Away". Both "Another You" and "Are You With Me" reunites in the top five. The Chainsmokers "Let You Go" comes in at number four while Audien & Lady Antebellum makes it to the top five. So two songs that debuted last week already enters the top five this week. Crazy. Robin Schulz, Christina Novelli, 3LAU, Sia and Alesso are all in the top ten.

Only one debut for the week and it's Duke Dumont's "Ocean Drive" which comes in at number 27. Also three Kygo songs are in the top 20. STATION NOTES:
British DJ/Singer Christina Novelli did it!!! It's her first number one as a solo artist on EDGE FM. She had numerous number one's as a featured especially with Gareth Emery. Robin Schulz's "Sugar" comes close and it's at number two. Audien & Lady Antebellum's "Something Better" is really picking things up and comes in third. It does have potential to be number one in the future. And Lost Frequencies & The Chainsmokers both are in the top five. Two debuts for the week and it's Paul van Dyk & Sue McLaren's "Lights" which started strong at number six. :o And Alex Adair's "Heaven" debuting at number 39. The past favorites of the week is the Mike Rizzo mix of Laura Pausini's "Surrender" and the DJ Taucher mix of Ayla's "Ayla".

Also just for fun I tracked the top classics of the week in the top 20 separate chart here since I listen to a lot of oldies from the 80's, 90's and 2000's. And topping the chart is CRW's "I Feel Love" which was in the rave UK movie "Kevin & Perry Go Large". Also "Ayla" was in the movie soundtrack as well. CRW is none other than Italy's Mauro Picotto. ATB's trance classic "Ecstasy" is at number two and never gets old. 90's latin house "I Like It (Like That)" by The Blackout Allstars is in third and that was a huge song in New York City. The Club 69 mix of Funky Green Dogs "Fired Up!" is in fourth and Lazard's "4 o'clock (in the morning)" tops the top five. Also in the top 20 are beloved ones by Jam & Spoon, C+C Music Factory, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Aubrey, Ayla, Milk Inc., etc. I doubt I'll be doing the top 20 classics every week and maybe just once in a while if it's interesting.

STATION NOTES:
It was a tough battle between Robin Schulz and Audien but "Sugar" takes the throne for the week ending August 23rd. Christina Novelli wasn't too far behind but drops down a bit from number one to number three. Both Duke Dumont and Alex Adair doing well and both are in the top five. Zedd's "Beautiful Now" getting a second life of sorts and climbs further to number six. And Paul van Dyk's latest is still in the top ten. Keep your eye on that one.

As for the classics of the week, the Mike Rizzo remix of Laura Pausini's "Surrender" from 2002 is number one while the DJ Taucher mix of Ayla is in second. The Riva mix of "Precious Heart" is a classic banger and comes in at third. "Summer Jam" is at fourth while ATB's "Ectasy" comes in fifth.
