That isn't a cover so much as someone singing karaoke. He didn't do anything to it to make it his own. Plus, he sings like he is deaf. I am shocked someone would like this more than the original.

The big HAC station in NY (PLJ) played Someone Like You today...not sure if they just wanted to, or if they are rolling with that as her next song.

Now jumps from #100 to #82 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B charts. To my knowledge, is in rotation on three Mediabase Urban stations, 1 of those stations being in Top 10 Market Atlanta, major station WVEE. Also still receiving plays over 30 times a week on Urban-formatted Rhythmics KMEL (San Francisco) and WZMX (Hartford) and just added to WPGC (Washington D.C.).

I like Rumor Has It but I always thought it was clear Set Fire To The Rain was much more suitable for radio so I'm ecstatic they went with it.

Set Fire To The Rain is the one song left on the album that can do it. I think it has much better chance to chart on pop than Rumor Has It. Yeah completely agree - Rumor Has It is too repetitive and I think it would burn really quickly - Set Fire To The Rain could go Top 3 IMO |

I still think "Someone Like You" is the most impactful single, especially one that could maximize album sales, but "Set the Fire to the Rain" would work too. Perhaps that would make the better later Summer single and "Someone Like You" for the holiday season.

Still not 100% convinced on SFTTR being the single until I see it officially announced for US radio.
Its the perfect choice though. Another #1 hit. Then release Someone Like You and time it with the Grammies along with a killer live performance like she did on the Brit awards. End it there and start work on a new album.

SFTTR is a great summer song. As mentioned, if she released SLY around the holidays she could have a giant album booster during a time when sales are already high. Then imagine if she performed it on the Grammy's AND wins some of the bigger awards. She could literally add another million to her total from that one performance!
