Jason Aldean Tops Country Album Sales Chart

For 14 weeks, Taylor Swift has had the #1 album on the SoundScan Top Country Albums chart and for 13 of those weeks; Jason Aldean has quietly bided his time behind her. All of this changed this week as My Kinda Party just-barely outsold Speak Now giving Aldean his second #1 country album after 2006’s Relentless scored a top-slot (2008’s Wide Open was #2 behind Swift’s Fearless and others throughout its run). The #3 album this week belongs to the other juggernaut country release of 2010, Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now. Zac Brown Band’s You Get What You Give is fourth while Rascal Flatts slips into the Top 5 with their latest, Nothing Like This as word spread this week about their departure from long-time management firm Turner Nichols Management.
