Fuk! Those are sad sales :(( I mean I wasn't expecting a top 10 but nothing that low either! She had to be reintroduced to the public properly and not half assed. Double Tap was cute but definitely not enough. She needed much more support from promo to a serious follow up single with label support and strategy behind. She sang beautifully on Today. RHRN was a nice r&b song / video. She could be like JHud or Fantasia and had success in Urban AC for example. I think she could later do a feature in a Pop single, and be somewhat popular again in that market. She's a great singer and that kind of talent could always have some sort of comeback

Debuted at #89 in sales, so the streaming numbers must have been really low
Also I didn't realize that Double Tap charted on Billboard's Hot R&B songs at #25.

Poor Jordin. This album is so good, and someone with her level of talent deserves so much better.
It's discouraging that many people don't even know that she had an album out, and the ones that do will probably dismiss her for "selling out" with an Urban album.
If she wanted to sell out, she would've gone to Max Martin and co. and sang some safe, bubblegum Pop intended for Ariana Grande or Katy Perry, so that argument doesn't quite hold water for me.
She's older, been in an extremely serious (and public), relationship/breakup, and she might have just said fuck it, life is too short to NOT do what you want, when the chances of getting a hit are slim for none for her now, anyway.
I'd much rather see an artist do what they want to do, as opposed to making generic and safe material to try and get a hit.
On another note, "Tell Him That I Love Him" continues to give me LIFE everytime I listen to it; SANGGGGGGG Jordin.
I feel like I should let the rest of the album sink in a little bit more, but that one just grabs me and won't let go. :'(

Part of me feels sorry for her, but the other part is happy she is able to make the music she wants to make (even if I don't like some of it). And if you have to flop, it's better to flop with stuff you feel strongly about than record some generic ass mess you hate and then flop anyway.

I'm not sure she'll be any worse off without the label than she is with it. Keeping her locked up has done more damage to her hit-making potential than another flop album/singles would've done three years ago. Hopefully she can get a chance at a redux like Leona is getting once she's out of there. Yeah but wanna hazard a guess how much leona is gonna open with come release week. I think it's going to be a very similar situation. Sad. Both talented girls. And Jordin Sparks is just stunning to look at Well Leona has the UK/Germany to fall back on, should open with more copies sold there than Jordin did in the US. I'm hoping she'll be able to go top 50 with her album given that it seems she has quite good promotion lined up. Really sad to see how Jordin's latest album has done, it's a decent effort and hopefully "They Don't Give" will become a decent sized hit on Urban AC/Urban and help the album climb.

I just read the past 5 pages .... There's a lot to what I want to reply to and way too much to quote so I'll just write it all here and hope I don't forget. First off, everyone go vote on Speezyland for what you think the next single off the album should be! After Tuesday the results are being sent to the label, Jordin, and her team! www.speezyland.com/#!poll-/c21x1 And now, I agree with what seems to be the consensus here that it's a great album probably her best work yet. And it really is a shame that it is doing so poorly charts wise. I really hope they don't give up on this album. I think it has a lot of hit worthy materiel on it. This album really needs and needed proper promotion or at least a hit single so people know she's back. The release day wasn't good for TV promo as most shows are on hiatus until September (hoping she cycles back over to NY for TV promo not expecting it tho.) It debuted at 89 on pure sales. So streaming hurt her on the new main chart. (Side note: but the state of R&B is really bad when an album that opened at #161 on the main chart, opens at #4 on the R&B chart. R&B really isn't selling anymore.) I think the Urban AC is a good bet with certain songs but I don't think she should solely rely on it. I'm guessing They Don't Give is the single right now since it was sent to radio (16 Urban adds). I feel like it'd be best to send that to UAC and have another single on Rhythmic. And for the person who said this label doesn't care about her. They absolutely do. RCA didn't care. Louder Than Life is simply not big enough to give Jordin the support she needs though I feel they are doing a lot for her, it just isn't enough. Also, something I think people overlook or simply don't know is OMI is signed to Louder Than Life. You know the guy who has been all over the radio all spring and summer singing about a cheerleader. So they are bringing in money, so I don't think the label will shut down anytime soon. Now they just have to get Jordin and Mack Wilds off the ground and they could be pretty ok as a label. They only have about 10 artist anyway so not that many to support. Besides Salaam is head of A&R at Sony, so I doubt they'd shut down his label under them. Oh and I have no fear of Jordin being dropped lol. I think with the follow up album Jordin needs to stick to the Urban R&B sound. It would be a mistake to try to switch it, when she is barely established now. Many are calling this her best work so it'd be a mistake to switch so soon regardless of sales. This is how you grow. While sales are disappointing I'm glad Jordin is finally able to put this out. Like I said this is her best album yet and I really believe in it and her. So I'm hoping the label continues to push this album and we can get at least one moderate hit and a quick follow up project. Hoping they stick with singles and videos from this album through 2016. My faves are Silhouette, Unhappy, THTILH, Left Right, and Boyz in the Hood.

I thought Louder Than Life was part of RCA? Either way, if the label helps her to keep releasing music every few years--and not every 6--I'll be fine even if her sales aren't great as long as the quality is strong like here. Plus, if this is the sound she enjoys making, it'd be nice if she can continue to creat music there even if I'd have liked more pop from her. After listening for a while, THTILH, WFH, DT, Silhouette, BitH, and TDG are my favorites.
I wonder though if, as far as changing style, doing Christian music wouldn't have been more lucrative for her? She does have the personality for it and people probably wouldn't have reacted the same as they did to her going farther R&B/Urban. Not to mention she'd sound great doing it, too.

The label is a part of Sony which is the parent company of RCA. And Salaam is head of A&R at Sony that's how he was able to take Jordin from RCA to LTL so easily. Honestly Jordin can do basically do any genre because her voice is so versatile. But I think she should stick to R&B for at least the next album. Oh and speaking of other genres Jordin is featured on Thomas Rhett's new country album that comes out in a few weeks.

I like Jordin. Honestly it feels like a experimental album. She should do songs like Silhouette,WFH,Unhappy,BITH and Left Right more often. I feel like the stuff recorded with RCA was RNB/POP (which in my opinion couldve helped people transition into this album better). She needs televised promotion.

So what were the final sales? Last week, Billboard reported that Adele's 21 was back up to #132 on the Top 200, having moved another 2,000 units; if Jordin debuted at #161, that means she moved less than 2k.

Jordin was #89 on the Album sales chart just with the pure album sales without streaming, and according to some other sales figures for the artists who were charted similar on that chart it can be inferred that Jordin was in the 3.2K-3.5K sales range. #76 Kacey Musgraves 3.6K #78 NOW That's What I Call Country vol. 8 3.6K #82 Lamb of God 3.5K #89 Jordin #97 Michael Ray 3.2K

Still not great but better! Since these numbers are just sales without streaming. I'm guessing her official number with streaming is around 3.5K - 4.5K. Streaming did more damage to Jordin than help her tho. She charted higher than Michael Ray on the pure sales chart but he charted better than her on the streaming plus sales chart. Too bad Billboard 200 isn't how it used to be. Here are the poll results for singles(368 votes): THTILH - 23% Silhouette - 21% Boyz in the Hood - 17% Unhappy - 14% Casual Love - 11% Work From Home - 5% They Don't Give - 4% 1000 - 2% The remaining 3% is made up of 100 Years, IAY, Left....Right and 11:11.

Wow...this album is GREAT! I got it last Monday at Target for $7.99 and I'm in love with it already. This is exactly what R&B music needed right now!
"100 Years" is SEXY and it has the spirit of Aaliyah all over it. The title track, "Silhouette", "11:11", "They Don't Give", "Left.....Right?", and "Tell Him That I Love Him" are bliss. "Work From Home", "1000", "Boyz In The Hood", and "Casual Love" are good for the dance floor. "Unhappy" is decent.
After hearing this album in full, I feel like "Double Tap" and "It Ain't You" don't belong. They don't represent the album well at all. I've deleted them from my library...without them, the album is perfect. I believe in Jordin and her work, I'm going to make sure all of my friends get this album!

I'm guessing they are more curiosity spins than anything else. We'll see how well it holds up. I just don't see anything turning this around from a complete flop but I really like to believe in miracles so.
