Lead single from the album "21" by the grammy award winning solo-artist, Adele. This girl has a pretty good voice, I don't really see her as Alt. material, though. This is currently in the top 50 nonetheless.

Did "Chasing Pavements" from her last album do anything on alt?

Very odd that this is charting here. I'll be supporting it though, Adele is very talented and this song is great.
I don't think that "Chasing Pavements" did anything over here last era. If anything, "Right as Rain" could have maybe made the top fifty if pushed.

Hmm interesting. Glad to see her getting some love from Alt though. Hopefully it will help her positioning on the hot 100. ^^

Wasn't a fan of this at first, but I heard it on an alt. station the other day and it sounded really good in the mix. If Florence + the Machine can go Top 10, there's no excuse why this one can't do well.

We don't generally do daily updates in the alt/rock side of the forum. We generally just do top 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, and #1. If you did weekly updates are commented on a major bullet or loss of bullet, or something with more substance than a numbers update, people would probably be okay with it. I don't mind the daily updates personally, but I figured I'd warn you before others who do mind them get upset.
If you want to keep a weekly record of the song's official Sunday night alternative position, bullet, spins, etc., that would probably be fine with everyone (I would hope so at least).

I'll do it once a week on a sunday if there are any major changes. I'm not surprised people don't like them. Looking at the alt chart it seems it can go rather slow at times.

Well I don't think that's necessarily more true for alternative than CHR. You're probably (I know nothing about what you know about the charts) just used to a format whose play totals for a position on the chart are well more than five times higher. A bullet of +20 on alternative corresponds to the same type of change as a +120 or maybe even a +150 on CHR. The panel is smaller, and alternative plays its currents far less often. Because of that, however, a song can move up the alternative chart much faster than the CHR chart if the whole panel hops on board simultaneously. Songs debut in the top 10 once or twice a year these days, which I don't think happens on CHR (I don't follow CHR as much as you do I'd guess, so I could easily be wrong here).

When I saw this (haven't heard the song yet), I thought, "Why the hell is there a topic for an Adele song in this forum? But then I read this: 58 50 ADELE - Rolling in the Deep 124 101 23 0.522 Oh! :o Well, shut my mouth!

I checked to see what stations were playing this - one is actually an Alternative CHR that plays One Republic, The Script, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, and The Ready Set - the other 5 or 6 are extreme Indie-leaning stations where I guess this fits, since people group her in with Mumford and Florence

In fact, I think this is better than most of what is considered "indie" in the more visible sense. This is by far one of the best singles I've heard in quite a while. I wasn't quite sold on the hype around Adele after "Chasing Pavements" became a runaway cult hit, to be honest, much like I felt the hype surrounding Duffy was excessive (who has since fallen like a rock with her sophomore effort). I felt she already had an above-average voice, but the material of "19" overall didn't do justice in providing her the opportunity to more emotionally expand its expression. With this release (and "21" in general) she's found the perfect means to do so, and I'm now convinced she's the real deal and will have a career spanning multiple decades. I'm just surprised radio is embracing this as it is, as opposed to something truly destined for radio like "Set Fire To The Rain". Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

My guess is that her label is exploring to see what radio format will adopt this song - I could see it fitting in a playlist on almost any format outside Country or Urban, but thus far besides AAA (where it went #1, but AAA is such a small format) it hasn't picked up a lot of traction. Look over at HAC. It's picked up a lot there...... ;)

Seeing her on Alt makes me feel kinda weird. This doesn't seem a natural fit.... and, yes I know Eminem & Outkast have charted in the past.

I think it'll peak around where "I Kissed a Girl" did tbh.

An indie pop song in between 2 Post-grunge songs and 2 Nu-metal songs. LOL

What the hell charted by Eminem? ??? "My Name Is" - #37 "The Real Slim Shady" - #19 "Without Me" - #15 "Lose Yourself" - #14 I think "Sing for the Moment" hit the top 50, too.

^ Really? Wow... could someone actually put sources here to make sure? I don't believe this one bit frankly. Not Wikipedia. And chart runs if possible.

That's so weird. But I guess it was brought on by the "white-boy rapper" image, Fred Durst popularity, and the strange immature sound with twisted lyrics that didn't quite fit pop or rap. Eminem would NEVER get on Alternative these days though.
