Yes, colson- I have that in common with a lot of others, apparently- in the musical and non-musical worlds. :) Some apparently don't understand the U.S. ageism at radio- which is fine- hence, the reminder. If everyone understood it, it would not warrant mention. Yet they are making millions off of it and you, well, you are just a poster here. ;)

I wonder if its possible that GaGa sold over 30K of the physical single of BTW. I doubt it, but I'm just wondering what the highest physical single sales are these days.

there is streaming, too, lol. Oh god... & any differences in the BDS airplay If Gaga did sell 24k physically then there's <6 points in it when using the mediabase stats. 261 + 60.055 = 321.055 206 + 109.573 = 315.573

24K would be a hefty sum for a CD single at this point.

Really? So 900 singles sold might not make a difference?

I'd like to see GaGa hold on for just this last week because it looks like she will take over #1 on Pop radio for next week's chart :)

i would expect a huge write-up though, as it's not just any #1, but a record-breaking #1. So maybe it will be late, lol.

Gaga had enough. Let these other girls get it in.
Katy's record label will do anything in their power to get that 5th #1 just watch. Her era shows no signs of slowing down.

Oh, dear, the day someone like Katy reaches 4 #1's in the row says a lot about the time we live in.

I also like most of her songs but I'm well aware they're pure trash.

Yeah its not so much about what or who is out, but the timing. All hyped or huge singles have to rise and fall at some point. If E.T had been released earlier it may have lost out to S&M or something else.

True. But also the further the era goes the less there's the hype behind it.

So a #1 for Katy isn't even confirmed yet? This is so confusing. Normally I would agree but I actually kind of liked Katy's songs. If it were Rihanna's from this era then I would agree with you. her songs are made for masses. so stupid and meaningles but catchy. I also like most of her songs but I'm well aware they're pure trash. Her songs are made for the masses, hence 4 #1s in a row. Just because you don't like them doesn't make her or her songs any less worthy of this feat. The general public loves the songs so she obviously deserves to be at the top. Any song that goes #1, whether I like the song or not, deserves to be #1.
