The Beastie Boys, if anything, sound as vivacious and youthful as ever here. This sounds like something that could have fit right at home on "Hello Nasty" over a decade ago, really. All the members of the trio may be 45 or older, but they sound as though they might as well be in their mid-20's. They're just THAT energized here, and much more than makes up for the passable lyrics. You hit the nail on the head. The album really reminds me a lot of "Hello Nasty" and age honestly is not noticeable one bit in this album. This could have been released in 1989 and you'd never know the difference.

^ Yeah, that seems about right, unfortunately. Album is superb. Better than I was expecting, actually.

I gotta agree with Shadowscorp's consternation and admit that I thought this song was headed for bigger things. It bolted past lead singles from Incubus and Death Cab. Cake's "Sick Of You" recently went top 5 with longevity which I felt boded well for this. Their most recent lead single hit #1. And the promotion surrounding the music video with all its star-power I thought would earn them back to back lead singles hitting #1 seven years apart after "Make Some Noise" had such an auspicious first few weeks on the chart.
That said, I wasn't really rooting for this to hit #1 although I do like it. I'm more pulling for "Adolescents" which probably won't get there and "Young Blood" which is the epitome of a long shot. "Sail" has been looking like a hot pick on the chart, and I'd be fine with that song wreaking some havoc with longevity.

I'm guessing it'll be Death Cab for Cutie or Incubus next, seeing as how this won't be going #1.
Maybe even that new Sublime with Rome song.
Sucks that the album missed #1.

Yeah Sublime with Rome seems like sure-shot #1 to me. The only question is whether the songs you mentioned or even The Black Keys can reach #1 first, or if Sublime's song will fly up and fall off quickly enough for other songs currently on the chart to also have a crack at the top spot.

Well, it might be peaked, but some songs don't forever die, despite hitting the brick wall.
The unfortunate thing is that I currently would grade it an entire letter higher than "Ch-Check," but it's worth noting they didn't have the hottest longevity with songs from that album.
This and TVOTR have really impressed me this year.
