The top 11 and 20 of the top 28 with triple-digit hits to the bullet...I still see 143 stations on the panel, did something wierd happen or is radio just getting sick of the top half of the chart? I couldn't blame program directors if they are. Wasn't it last week when the new stations were added to the panel? If that was the case, the bullets got a bump from that, and are now leveling back off. But I'm not positve *looks to AZ or Kworb* Yep that's what happened

Oh hai Kesha and Gaga's new singles. In pop downloads, they're 25 & 54 right now. Jason might threaten Lady A. Huh.

Go Derulo! Beat the payola-smash-got-power-rotation-in-CC-night-playlist-before-you-and-BEP-when-it-was-ranked-below-you, Lady A, get to #1 and give a 3rd #1 hit in less than 6 months to JR Rotem!
"Alejandro" and YLIMD are both premium choices this week. I guess this means both will get to 1,500-2,000 spins in a week and I hope this means BR and "Tik Tok" will be taken out of power there soon..

I'm going to puke if In My Head blocks Need You Now from #1. I'm sick of this generic crap by these no name artists hitting #1 then plummeting down the charts and fading to obscurity in a matter of 3 months.

Thank God that NYN will be stopped. This sort of nonsense must be defeated and destroyed.

Thank God that NYN will be stopped. This sort of nonsense must be defeated and destroyed. Whether or not you're serious or sarcastic here, I agree. "Need You Now" is a country song, it doesn't belong on pop radio and feels SO out of place. While I don't care too much for "In My Head", it deserves the top spot over NYN just for the sheer fact that it's pure pop and NYN isn't.

Serious. This crap doesn't belong on pop radio. Totally agree with you.

Yes, because God forbid pop radio actually takes risks and plays things that don't use the same tired formula over and over again....
If Need You Now has tested well with pop audiences, then it's not 'too country' for pop radio. Simple as that. Such close-mindedness is exactly what makes pop radio so dull and uninteresting sometimes.

Well, I would prefer if pop radio played pop music. There's country radio stations and then there's pop radio stations. If people want to hear this country song, they can listen to the country radio station. If they don't like country, then they can download the song or get the album.
I listen to pop radio because I like pop music. I also listen to country music, used to be more than pop, but not anymore. I know which station to turn it to when I want to hear country. Same with pop. I don't like it mixing though.
Country radio overplayed "Need You Now". I got sick of it weeks ago and started turning the station when it was on the country station. Now the same thing is happening when I want to listen to pop music - I'm turning it because this country song is on...THE POP STATION.
This song isn't even country-pop like Taylor Swift. This song is pretty country. It does not belong on pop radio.

Well then let's get rid of all the hip-hop and dance and rock music as well and everything else that's not pure pop music. A song from any genre can be a pop song, and fit on pop radio.

I think that the pop format is perfect as it is because you can hear a variety of songs. Although, there has to be a format that plays only pop songs, just like country, rhythmic, urban etc. That format should be the pop one but it's not. That said, the creation of a new fomat that plays everything is the ideal solution.

Go Lady A! I really like In my head but I hope Need you Now goes #1 first :) And loving Ke$ha and Lady GaGa's climb with their new singles! Both have 3 songs in the top 50! Wish Buble would go top 40, but it doesn't look good :(

I have no problems with In My Head (which is actually miles better than Whatcha Say, which is crap) or Need You Now. NYN is the same type of thing Taylor Swift sings; it is just following the path. I guess I can understand people being tired of country on pop because it's getting airplay now more than ever.
What I want blocked is Imma Be. I want all copies burned, actually, but that is harder to happen.

the NYN played on pop is the pop remix. It's different than the country version of the song, but it's still much different as a song from what's usually played on pop. However, it's much better than anything else on the charts and I hope it gets to #1.

However, it's much better than anything else on the charts and I hope it gets to #1. While it is a pop mix, there difference between the pop mix and original is very very small. The only difference is the steel guitar. Everything, such as tempo, vocals, etc. stayed the same as the original. I really don't understand why Carrie Underwood doesn't do that. I mean, her songs are pretty poppy already, but they won't touch her unless they get a dumb "pop mix" . So, Lady A pushed that by changing up one instrument and slapping on (Pop Mix) to its title. VERY smart idea from their label. You don't have to go all out like Taylor Swift did in Teardrops and Love Story.

Country songs playing on pop radio is not at all new. It's far from new. When I was growing up, our Top 40 station would play Dolly Parton (not just 9 to 5). "Pop" means "popular." Yes, there's a genre called "pop" but seriously, most of what is played on CHR is NOT the genre "pop." It's R&B or Rock or Dance or Urban... with a sprinkling of songs that could actually be considered "pop" (I mean real pop without R&B or Dance). I'm not sure why Country is the bastard stepchild that needs to be excluded from that list of genres allowed on CHR, especially since Country songs have shown up on CHR for decades. Just because most of what is on CHR is R&B/Pop or Dance/Pop doesn't mean it should exclude other popular songs. Frankly, CHR needs more diversity right now because a lot of the stuff sounds exactly the same.

Well done to Train going Top 10
it will move up to #9 in the next day or so...
fantastic effort from a band dead and buried as a chart act for the last few years and most assumed forever

Wow!! So many nonsensical comments around! :o Destroying NYN because it's not Pop?? What about half f the pop chart in recent years? Or currently Bedrock? Sexy chick? Breakeven? In fact, I wish there were more pop conlubtry songs to mix up the playlist! I could not stand listening to a country radio but like hearing some Carrie, Sugarland, Tim McGraw once in awhile. Any good country son with pop influence should be able to chart on Pop. Imagine if not!! we had misses gems like You're still the one, Lady, Here you come again, Before he cheats, How do I live, islands in the stream, man! I feel like a woman, etc. Also, today i heard a remix version on the radio, ala Taylor Swift with electronic production... Sounded cool but prefer the original. That remix fits with the electronic omnipresent vibe o current radio. That s sad though. And precisely has to do with narrowminded listeners that wan everything follow the same "mainstream formula" so artists or labels have to compromise with a remix to make sure that some "pop" stations will play a song that may aleady be popular in it's original version but would still not be played by stubborn stations. Curious that whereas some do not complain on the rhythmic orientation of radios by would kill because one or two country pop single are given chance n pop radio

Save me Sanfrancisco ( the single ).. has taken off way ahead of adds and is already in the top 40 an AAA... they may have to reconsider what they want to release to hot ac and pop ( as the next single ) if this song keeps muscling its way into rotation!

Even the regular non-pop-mix of NYN is still fairly pop. It's definitely country-pop. All you have to do is listen to a country radio station and what the majority of country music sounds like to get that NYN is basically just a regular pop ballad with a bit of a country twang. My CHR plays the radio edit from the album (not the pop mix), and it works fine.

I'm not listening much to radio this year for different reasons. In fact I went without listening after being away for more than a month and the playlist of DCs pop station had practically not changed at all same stuff. Yeah, it may have been the Jason Nevins mix. And I think itwas the Hot Ac radio which actually played that version whereas the pop radio is playing the non-twang version. Same haapened for Love Story for example

I'm sorry but does anyone else find it funny that Vanilla Twilight got purged when it was this weeks AT40 breakout song?
Talk about not getting the memo...
