Yeah, honestly Adele's success is making everyone else that was supposed to rule this year seem kinda small and insignificant lol. I even say that of Gaga too, for anyone who cares. I just cannot deny how much Adele is dominating even without non-stop promotion or radio playing her 20 times an hour. If radio played songs like hers 20 times an hour, I wouldn't be that mad haha As much as I like RITD, Adeles voice can grate on the ears after a couple of songs.

Man ET is probably going to be getting a few more weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 with this level of smashing. Just no stopping her. Really nothing compares. :'(

HDD says RITD sold 280k last week: ROLLING IN THE GLEEKS: Adele’s XL/Columbia album, 21, continues to surge, set to return to #1 tomorrow with a total that looks around 150k, more than a 50% jump over last week, thanks, of course, to Easter weekend, but also because of a pair of cover versions on Glee and American Idol. Gwyneth Paltrow’s take on “Turning Tables,” from last week’s Glee, sold almost 50k downloads in its first week, as did Adele’s original version, up from 4,000 the week before. In addition, the current single, “Rolling in the Deep,” was up 100%, from 140k to 280k, thanks also to a performance by Haley Reinhart on last week’s American Idol. The pre-emptive Grammy front-runner and sales leader is being called the biggest phenomenon since the days of Alanis Morissette, leading industry insiders to wonder aloud, “Can Adele save the record business?” (4/25p) these people always ask that question and the answer is always the same. No. People only want to buy as much product as they want or else they will simply obtain what they want illegally or listen to something else. It's that simple. So it will continue to be a singles market more and more as time goes on. Most people have no use for album fillers anymore.

Second singles don't just explode right out of the gate, they take time to build up. Is it just me or do people on this board's expectations just get more and more ridiculous each year. Agree, but people prolly expected too much from GaGa's preformance wise. However, it will be intresting to see if Judas rises into Top 5 once the video is on Idol next week.

Depends on the second single. I can name dozens of second or even third singles that have blown up instantly based on quality and connection to the mass audience. If your momentum is shot, yeah, second singles take time.

LOL you should go ask Gaga. I mean so far everything she/her label said, superlative term like "the darkest song". And then expect her video to stir more controversies so the press can eat that up, hype this whole thing even bigger. Like people here expected Gaga to sell 700k on the first week? We see how that'll go. One more thing, have they announced Gaga's 3rd single? If yes, why so early?

Yeah and Whats My Name basically debuted at #1 (stupid high first week bullet made it debut early >: /) and same with Love The Way You Lie. Even Blah Blah Blah debuted at #7.

It will be interesting to note that last week, we had S&M Remix and TTWE(original) charting in the top ten and next week, we will have S&M(original) and TTWE Remix in the top ten most probably

I gotta feeling? Teenage dream? What's my name? 'Teenage Dream" and "What's My Name" were both released on i-tunes prior to the albums being out, so that helped.

Remember that if Judas had debuted with a normal full week of sales it could have easily been top 5 or maybe even top 3.
Bad Romance's chart run went: 9-18-11-2 and then spent 15 straight weeks in the top 5, including 7 weeks at #2.
That said, Judas seems very unlikely to follow that path, it's nowhere near as broadly appealing, but everyone is indeed too quick to judge.

I'm glad Britney's team took notes and waited for a monday release. I think that waiting 3 days after a leak are worth the loss of money, rather than the loss of a higher peak.

^Because Judas wasn't?... I know it is, I'm not arguing that "Judas" doesn't have the same advantage. In fact, I'm surprised that it's not performing that well at the moment because of this advantage.

If your momentum is shot, yeah, second singles take time. Exactly. 2nd singles usually have amazing starts from big artists especially if they're coming off a popular hit. That rule about 2nd singles needing time really doesn't apply to "Judas" considering who is releasing it and coming from a track that was #1 for 6 weeks.....though BTW running out of steam quikcly might have killed some of Gaga's hype I guess.
