Lady Gaga's "Judas" drops from #10 to #12 its second week. The song's digital sales declined 4%. It sold more copies (162K) last week, in its first three days of availability, than it did this week (156K), when it was available for a full seven days. And digital song sales were up overall (so that's not the explanation). Only four songs in the top 40 on Hot Digital Songs dropped in sales compared to last week.
This week's tracking period coincided with the Christian Holy Week. It ended on Easter Sunday. It's possible that some people thought it was going a little far to release a song called "Judas" at such a time. Gaga may have thought it would seen as cheeky and irreverent, but it's possible that it was seen, by at least some fans, as blasphemous.
Judas is not a popular song subject. One of the only other notable songs with "Judas" in its title is Metallica's "The Judas Kiss," which "bubbled under" the Hot 100 in 2008 at #112.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if "Judas" turned around in coming weeks. Last week, it became Gaga's ninth top 10 hit. Will it wind up as her eighth song to crack the top five? Place your bets.
"E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West returns to #1 on the Hot 100, after a one-week interruption by "S&M" by Rihanna featuring Britney Spears. "E.T." sold 344K digital copies this week, which constitutes a new one-week high for the song. The song has sold 2,489,000 copies so far in 2011. It's just one week away from topping Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" as the top-seller for the year-to-date. Cee Lo's opus has sold 2,493,000 copies so far this year.
I don't know how long Perry will hold on to the year-to-date crown, but it's remarkable that she will hold it at all. "E.T." is, after all, the fourth single from her current album, Teenage Dream. The lead single, "California Gurls" (featuring Snoop Dogg), was the #1 digital seller of 2010.
This week marks the third time that "E.T." has topped 300K in weekly sales. Only three other songs in digital history have topped 300K three or more times. "Love The Way You Lie" by Eminem featuring Rihanna topped that mark five times. Flo Rida's "Right Round" and Perry's "California Gurls" each topped it four times.
"E.T." is Perry's second single in a row to top the Hot 100 for four weeks. "Firework" had four weeks on top in December and January. This is the sixth week that "E.T." has been #1 on Hot Digital Songs. That's the longest run by any song since "Love The Way You Lie" had seven weeks on top last summer.
Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" jumps from #6 to #2. It's vying to become the first song by a British female solo artist to reach #1 since Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" in April 2008. "Bleeding Love" was a Grammy finalist for Record of the Year. "Rolling In The Deep" will almost certainly follow suit. Haley Reinhart performed the song on last week's American Idol.
(A second Adele song, "Turning Tables," bows at #63, three notches ahead of a Glee version of the song. The song is featured on Adele's smash album 21, which returns to #1 on this week's Billboard 200.)
"S&M" drops from #1 to #4. Billboard has changed the credit on "S&M" to Rihanna featuring Britney Spears, reflecting the success of the "Rih-mix" version of the song. The song becomes Spears' fifth #1 hit and her 11th top 10. It's Spears' second #1 of 2011, following her own "Hold It Against Me." This marks the first time she has had two #1 hits in one calendar year.
Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song" jumps from #11 to #6. This is Mars' fifth top 10 hit in less than 14 months. He scored his first, B.o.B's "Nothin' On You," in March 2010. It's amazing how fast pop singers can become part of our everyday lives. Mars' sweet sound obviously filled a void.
Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" drops from #5 to #10. This is its 12th week in the top 10. An R&B singer named Eamon had a top 20 hit seven years ago with a song that had a similar title, "F**k It (I Don't Want You Back)." The song climbed as high as #16. Alas, it was the first and only Hot 100 hit for the singer, who was 19 at the time. I guess Eamon was just ahead of his time.
"Coming Home" by Diddy-Dirty Money featuring Skylar Grey tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week. The song, which reached #11 on the Hot 100, is Diddy's first 2 million-seller in the digital realm, though of course his biggest hits came years before digital became a factor. As Puff Daddy, he had two of the three best-selling physical singles of 1997. "I'll Be Missing You" (a collabo with Faith Evans which featured 112) was #2 for the year with sales in that calendar year of 3,133,000. "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" (featuring Ma$e) was #3 for the year with sales in that calendar year of 2,713,000.

"Coming Home" is also Skylar Grey's first 2 million seller. She'll soon have her second. Dr. Dre's "I Need A Doctor," on which she is featured, has sold 1,613,000.

2. Adele "Rolling In The Deep." The song vaults from #6 to #2 in its 16th week on the chart. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (298K).
3. The Black Eyed Peas, "Just Can't Get Enough." The song holds at #3 for the fourth week in its 10th week on the chart. The Peas' 2005 hits "Don't Phunk With My Heart" and "My Humps" also had long runs at #3. This is the sixth week in the top 10 for "Just Can't Get Enough." Digital sales rank: #3 (207K).
4. Rihanna featuring Britney Spears, "S&M." The former #1 song drops to #4 in its 15th week on the chart. This is its 11th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #5 (159K).
5. Jeremih featuring 50 Cent, "Down On Me." The song dips from #4 to #5 in its 24th week on the chart. This is its sixth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #10 (148K).
6. Bruno Mars, "The Lazy Song." The song jumps from #11 to #6 in its ninth week. This is Mars' fifth top 10 hit, counting his early collabos with B.o.B and Travie McCoy. Digital sales rank: #4 (188K).
7. Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull, "On The Floor." The song jumps from #8 to #7 in its ninth week on the chart. This is its eighth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #7 (155K).
8. Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes, "Look At Me Now." The song dips from #7 to #8 in its 12th week on the chart. This is its sixth week in the top 10. The song has been #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the past four weeks. Digital sales rank: #8 (153K).
9. Ke$ha's "Blow." The song jumps from #12 to #9 in its 14th week on the chart. Ke$ha guest- starred on Friday's episode of the Nickelodeon show Victorious. This is the ninth week in the top 12 for "Blow," but just the third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #9 (151K).
10. Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)." The song drops from #5 to #10 its 35th week on the chart. This is its 12th week in the top 10. It's still the #1 selling song of 2011. Digital sales rank: #13 (121K).
Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. Britney Spears' "Till The World Ends" drops from #9 to #11. Digital sales rank: #12 (122K). Lady Gaga's "Judas" drops from #10 to #12. Digital sales rank: #6 (156K).
Luke Bryan's "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" debuts at #22. It's the highest-charting hit to date for the 34-year old country star, topping "Do I" (#34) and "Rain Is A Good Thing" (#37). This marks the second time in three weeks that a song by a male country star has debuted high on the Hot 100. Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee" opened at #13 two weeks ago. "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" is currently #19 on Hot Country Songs.
Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)" bows at #33. It's the first song from Beyonce's upcoming fourth studio album, which is due in June. The song is vying to become Beyonce's 25th top 10 hit (counting 10 hits with Destiny's Child).
Sara Evans' "A Little Bit Stronger" jumps from #41 to #37 in its 17th week. This is its highest ranking to date. The song is currently #4 on Hot Country Songs.
Three songs from the Disney Channel TV movie Lemonade Mouth appear on this week's chart. "Determinate" vaults from #94 to #51. "Breakthrough" bows at #88. "Somebody" opens at #89. Three more songs from the movie are listed on Hot Digital Songs and may arrive on the Hot 100 in coming weeks: "She's So Gone," "Turn Up The Music" and "More Than A Band." "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock jumps from #56 to #52 in its fifth week. The song holds at #1 in the U.K. for the second straight week.
Glee Cast's "All By Myself," featuring Charice, debuts at #87. The song was a #2 smash in 1976 for its composer, Eric Carmen. A cover version by Celine Dion hit #4 in 1997. (It was produced by David Foster, who discovered Charice.) Pia Toscano performed the song on American Idol this season.
Song Scorecard: Three songs top the 1 million mark in digital sales this week: "Moment 4 Life" by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake, Train's "Marry Me" and Plain White T's' "Rhythm Of Life."
