^How in the world is that related to this thread? :)
I doubt Lopez would score a No. 1, unless it's going to feature a rapper on it?

I think her team is hesitant to release a J.Lo only track this early int oher comeback. The next single, however, does need to lay off a rapper. She's back, we get it. Now let's just have J.Lo front center

Well, "I'm into You" has Lil' Wayne. A number of J.Lo's big hits had featured acts on them, so it's not like it would be much of a stretch for her releases to be collaborations. Especially now, it would not hurt to have young, hip acts tacked on. But if that happens, we really won't know if radio is really embracing the 40-plus set. I do think early-40s acts would have an easier time than 50s-acts, barring perhaps a one-off big hit (i.e. Cher).

When it came out, I remember critics raving about yet another comeback CD, nearly every review mentioned the word "Grammy" and it was very well-rated. But come Grammy time, lost in the shuffle where Eminem and Lady Antebellum had become the hot topic, Sade only got two nods and even won one. I can imagine them winning had it been Album Of The Year.
The same goes for Adele. Nearly every review has mentioned the word "Grammy", but we're still a good 8 months away from nomination time. Pretty much anything that comes out in between now and then is a threat to Adele's chances. If she's still fresh and releasing music off this album by then, she has a chance.

JLO needs to have a really good song to score a hit all by herself.
Feature hits
I'm Real Ain't It Funny I'm Gonna Be Alright Jenny From The Block All I Have Control Myself Get Right On The Floor
Solo hits
If You Had My Love Waiting For Tonight Love Don't Cost A Thing
Every other solo single she has released underperformed - FSG, Play, I'm Glad, and others, but her first two solo singles remain to be her most memorable imo

Been there done that, I'm over it

I can't get into the new BEP song, even though I hear it all the time. Samesies. It's not a bad song, it's just a....i don't know, a meh song? I wish they had went with Whenever because I love Fergie's part in it so hopefully that will be next single. IMO, The E.N.D. singles are much MUCH better than the Beginning. thats because the End is MUCH better thann the beggining in general

RITD is on fire. At this rate it will be a strong contender for #1 on Hot 100. And Bruno should get there too.
Btw, can i ask something? Will Grenade go recurrent on the chart after it falls off top 20?

Just The Way You Are's longevity is being helped by it's recent run of what could 15 weeks at #1 at AC with next weeks update.

Go Adele! She's catching up a lot with Katy now. Hopefully with the glee episode featuring RITD, that will give it the sales boost it needs to get the Hot 100 #1! :)

True, but again: Adele's album is simply much more successful in terms of sales, chart trajectory, single success, and, yes, critical acclaim.

Every other solo single she has released underperformed - FSG, Play, I'm Glad, and others, but her first two solo singles remain to be her most memorable imo To be honest I don't really think songs like Play and I'm glad were as radio friendly as her other songs, and they don't have that urban appeal she usually did, so I think that accounts more for their poor performance than the lack of rappers. On the other hand, I think songs like Jenny from da block would've performed just as well without the rappers.

"On the Floor" did what I didn't think it would do- reach top 10 airplay. But, again, it's not just Jennifer Lopez on the track, and it did have special circumstances, with the Idoll promo and all. The next single features Lil' Wayne, doesn't it? Once we see a Jenny-only single get significant airplay, that would be a victory for the 40-plus set. with you, nothing JLo does would be a victory. Once it started getting airplay you said it wouldn't chart on the Hot 100 airplay, then you said it wouldn't go top 40, then top 20... American Idol promo isn't really important WW, where it has been even bigger. Pitbull isn't hot enough to make the song a hit ('Fresh Out The Oven').

I'm afraid the Grammys will have short term memory. Something will come out around fall and be the talk of the town through Christmas and the Grammys next year. I felt Sade got shafted in the exact same way... I hope that won't happen to kanye's album, but I'm afraid it will. Kanye's one big hope is if Taylor is nominated with him. A number of Grammy members may feel he's been punished enough and finally give him the big one. It would be nice if he could re-release this project with a radio friendly lead though beforehand.

BEYONCE - Run The World (Girls): 16.545 (- 0.213) Between this and the position on iTunes, I'm beginning to fear she might fall out the Top 50 next week. :( Tragic. Never thought I'd see the day where a JLO dance track would wipe the 'floor' with a Beyonce dance track. Well, that's if you can even call that dance. I really don't know what it is.

Lady Antebellum's album came out BEFORE Sade's. Soldier Of Love just didn't keep its momentum throughout the year, while "Need You Now" dominated throughout 2010. Sade never realistically stood a chance for Album of the Year. It's early yet, but Adele's album seems to be building the hype and momentum to keep it going and relevant until Grammy season. This is a career-making album for her (much the way NYN was for Lady Antebellum). Sade's album was just another very good album from a band who releases solid albums once a decade or so. That creates a big difference in perception.

Swift's status as a Grammy darling was a one-album deal.
