This is all amazing news (if true)!

WCIS will make an amazing video and single.

Hope they release the video used on the tour for the UI music video instead of the actual music video, I think it's better when directed at a Pop audience.

Has any of Carrie's music charted on pop radio in Australia? I know she's had some success in the country genre over there, but I don't know if BHC crossed over to pop there as it did here? Thanks.

^ I do think it's possible they will be releasing the black & white tour video as the music video for Undo It in Australia - maybe that's why the label got upset when the video "leaked" from the director's website?

Very exciting news about What Can I Say! I'm still disappointed that wasn't released over here. I wonder if the music video will be an actual video or just their performance from Carrie's '09 Christmas Special or something? And if Sons of Sylvia will be traveling to Australia with Carrie to perform WCIS at some of her appearances?

Extremely impressed with the interviews from the Billboard Summit. I've never heard her be so open about her writing process, and it's really interesting with the process she goes through. I also love the entire "Remind Me" backstory.

Carrie told the interviewer that she will probably jump in the recording studio this Summer.

Why did they ask us for cover song requests for Carrie to perform at the FCP, if she wasn't gonna do any?

Anyway, I hope I can go next year. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. And I love Family Feud, and it looks like that's what they played this year. I went in 2008 and 2009. I miss Nashville. :(

Had a blast at the FC party. Carrie was cute as f**k - sounded & looked incredible. Not like any of that is new news, though.

Anyway, here's some stuff my brain managed to retain:

• Carrie mentioned that she'll be performing something she has never done live before at tonight's Opry show. Some friends will be joining her for said performance, as well.
  
• Carrie said that the other co-writes for the Narnia project - 'Distant Lullaby' & 'See You Again' - fit her vision for the fourth album.
  
• Reba personally thanked Carrie for performing 'How Great Thou Art' on national television.
  
• Don't even remember how this became a topic of discussion but Carrie mentioned that she wanted to have her own animal rescue resort of some sort in the future. She then joked that future FC parties would be held at the Fisher Family Zoo.
  
• Carrie told a story about Brad complaining about vocalists singing over his guitar solos, Carrie retaliated by saying "Well, I hate when you guitar guys try to take over my vocal parts!" or something to that effect. It was cute.
  
• Carrie listens to Wham! when she's feeling down.
  
• ...That's all I've got.
  

They need to scrap that Family Feud s**t, though. It was a mess.

Carrie Underwood has done almost everything there is to do in the musical world at the tender age of 28 - except break Australia. This oversight is set to change with the repackaging and relaunch of her 2009 album Play On. The release is coupled with a promotional tour, which will see Underwood perform the track Undo It on Dancing With The Stars this Saturday (June 12), a move which should lead her integration into radio playlists.

With an American Idol victory under her belt, and a cool 20 million record sales, it’s an understatement to suggest Underwood is merely a proven success with the public. Still, she remains ever humble, and charmingly hesitant when talking about her success.

“You know whenever they announce me saying ‘Carrie Underwood, five time Grammy award winner, this many awards and what not’, those stats are really fun, but you know at the end of the day I remember the songs I do, not the amount of awards in my cabinet. They are a lot of fun, but just being able to make music, that’s the real reward.”

Underwood has taken more of a hands-on approach in regards to songwriting and decision making on this album.

“I feel like with each album I’m able to grow more as an artist and kinda know what I want and be able to convey that,” she explains. “I know, in the beginning when I came off American Idol, I was relying very heavily on everybody around me, and I still do, but I feel like I know more what I want from myself as an artist and I get to write a lot more; I wrote most of the Play On album, and continue to write songs all the time, for whatever’s next.”

She is enjoying songwriting, but is under no illusions that she has mastered the artform. Still, as a cursory listen to Play On clearly shows, she has a strong grasp on songwriting, with an interesting turn of phrase, a strong ear for a melody (not a surprise considering her amazing vocals and easy-ascent in the musical world) and most importantly, the drive to perfect her craft while keeping humble.

“There’s so many amazing songwriters in the world, especially in Nashville, Tennessee but it’s really nice to just get in there and see what happens. It could be awesome, it could be terrible, but I’m feeling really good about everything that’s going on,” she enthuses. “Of course with the Play On album I’m very proud to have half of the songs being ones I wrote [with some very good friends].”

This modest streak extends to her expectations of her Australian trip.

“I expect to see a new place I’ve never been to before, to have fun, to meet a lot of awesome people and just enjoy my time there. I know it’s a quote unquote promotional tour but mostly for me it’s just going some place I have never been. I would love to come out for a full tour, and then to come back out purely for vacation’s sake. So when I come back I will be able to know all the cool places and be able to come back with my husband (Mike Fisher, professional hockey player) and just enjoy it and be able to relax.”

It’s not surprising she is looking forward to a vacation. She pumped out three albums in under four years, crisscrossing the globe and breaking sales record. Funnily enough she has taken queues on how to have fun while embarking on a hectic work schedule from an unlikely source – the cast and crew of American sitcom How I Met Your Mother (in which she guested in 2009).

“The cast was so nice and everyone that worked there, seemed like they really enjoyed themselves, it seems like a fun place to work, they seem to be able to have fun working hard together and I really liked that. I mean, I love the show, but the main thing I took from it was that they work extremely hard but have fun doing it. I learnt to do that.”
