I don't usually have the same taste in music as Carrie (with some few exceptions) so I'm not expecting to be all too excited about her duet partner.

I bet Carrie suggested Sonic Youth. It will probably end up being like Aerosmith, George Michael, or U2. Those seem like the most likely candidates to me, at least.

U2 would be amazing. :o I don't think I'd want an Aerosmith one. She's already collaborated with Steven at the ACMS -- I'm kind of hoping for someone new. I wouldn't be surprised if it's George Michael, though. She raves about him at any chance she gets. Praying For Time is still a must-listen for me on a weekly basis.

OMG, I soooo need to hear the Carrie/Katrina/Ashley songs!! Katrina and Ashley are my favorite 'unknown' singer-songwriters with Carrie being my mainstream diva LOL When I got to know about those songs I really got emotional just by wondering how amazing it must have been those 3 genuine talents together in a room, writing songs and everything...
And now people actually heard those songs. Why not me, God? haha

Carrie and U2 would be epic. I'm in a U2 mood and everything. Imagine them on "With or Without You"! :o

^ I'd say that probably the most likely pairing. I'd probably prefer George Michael, though.
Anyway, we got the PO album cover & album title back in '09 after Carrie's set at Ravinia, hoping history repeats itself and we get some kinda album news tonight!

That could be a good promo lead-in to the CMA nominations on Tuesday (assuming that she actually gets at least 2 -- Female Vocalist & Musical Event for RM).

I'd be seriously ecstatic with a U2 pairing with Carrie on Crossroads. Can you say epic? We better get this on DVD.

I just saw the greatest Carrie show I've ever seen. Seriously. Her with the orchestra blew me away and made me appreciate her skills even more than I did before. I also have some amazing pics that I will post tomorrow. TH and HGTA had people in tears, me included. :)

There was. I actually met Jimmy and Ed this time around. :) I guess the same conductor that did her Hollywood Bowl stuff did the arrangements tonight and he is working or worker with Carrie before. :)

From last night's show at Ravinia:
"Jesus Take The Wheel" / "How Great Thou Art"
"Change"
"Before He Cheats" / "Songs Like This"

CMA noms being announced now. So far, Carrie has one for FVOTY.
ETA: And to the shock of no one, no EOTY.

Apparently, "Remind Me" was not submitted for consideration this year. Or at least I hope so since the rest of the noms have been announced w/ no RM in sight. RM for 2012 CMAs? Waaay too late, IMO. Unless they cross it over, it'll be too old and overshadowed by that time.
IMO, RM is such a wasted opportunity. Only 1 week at #1 when it clearly could have been longer were it not for fellow label family member Jake Owen's sudden massive gains, no live performance at all, music video just thrown out there without fanfare, etc. Looks like the only real promo will be a one-time performance at the CMAs. I'm not even sure if the song will ever be included in Brad's concert setlist. If that's it from their promo team, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets overlooked by most of the awards shows.
It even feels like "It Had To Be You" is getting more promo, even though it doesn't have radio play. Featured on a TV show and a major concert? Feels huge to me.
Ugh, I sound so negative! I need Carrie album news!! Anything at all.

Here I was all anxious to get my ass back on a computer and check out these nominations only to find out that "Remind Me" wasn't submitted in the first place? Gorl, bye. I still think she's got a great shot at FVOTY, though.

I feel as if it wasn't submitted. It would have surely got at least a Vocal Event nomination if it were.

I'm wondering when we'll get word on the single/album. It has to be very soon.

I've sort of lost hope on the album coming out this year. We might get the single before year's end (maybe around CMA time), but now I feel like this album will be dropping after the Holidays. I think I had a dream the other night that the album was getting released in March.

I think I had a dream the other night that the album was getting released in March. I hope not... That's a huge missed sales opportunity. I'm happy Carrie's taking her time with the album, getting the best material she can find. However, if Carrie wants to stay relevant she can't miss out on opportunities like Holiday sales. I still have a hunch that it'll be late November/Early December. The closer the announcement to the release, the bigger the hype will be. A single late September/Early October will shoot up the charts. Carrie's fans are very powerful when it comes to radio, as history has shown, so it won't take long for the single to peak. Even a late October single release would still give the song time to peak before year's end. Then Christmas airplay comes into play, but I don't think that would affect anything too much. Worst case the single peaks in January. So I do still have hope on a 2011 release!!! Not that I'm worried she'll become irrelevant but I guess the selfish part of me wants her to stay a mega superstar forever.
