Hodges is someone else I really like. I wouldn't mind Carrie working with him again, either. He worked with Carrie a couple times for this upcoming album (we got that confirmation when pictures were taken of Carrie eating a salad for lunch with him and someone else in LA), but IDK if his co-writes made the cut. He's fantastic and shares the nomination for TAPFU with Hillary and Carrie from this year's Golden Globes.

Cannot wait to hear this. Same here! If I remember correctly, Jim isn't exactly a country/Carrie fan, so I'm glad to see he likes the song!

For example, the Carrie Underwood song Eighteen Inches reminds her of a good friend. "She got married when she was 17, and she had a baby. And they moved here, to Nashville. Her husband's is going to college and has a full-time job, and she stays at home with the baby, and she doesn't know anyone here. She moved here to support him. That's, like, the story of that song." - IdolChatter

OFFSTAGE: Lauren Alaina to Sing Carrie Underwood's "Eighteen Inches"There are 12 songs on Lauren Alaina's debut country album, including one Alaina co-wrote, "Funny Thing About Love," and another that Carrie Underwood actually co-wrote, "Eighteen Inches." Alaina told USA Today the young-love ballad reminds her of her good friend, even though she didn't write it. "She got married when she was 17, and she had a baby. And they moved here, to Nashville. Her husband's is going to college and has a full-time job, and she stays at home with the baby, and she doesn't know anyone here," she said. "She moved here to support him. That's, like, the story of that song." The bittersweet lyrics paint a picture of two teenagers running away to California and how when you're young and in love, you might do some things that don't seem all that smart -- "'cause there ain't no greater distance than the 18 inches from your head to your heart." Alaina's fans will have to wait until her Wildflower on Oct. 11 to hear songs.

Sounds a lil bit like Lauren is really following closely to Carrie's steps... and I hope she can succeed, as she's talented enough to have her own promising career! :)
Looking forward to hearing another former Idol cut a Carrie song... Kristy Lee Cook did good with "Not Tonight"... wonder if "Eighteen Inches" will be released as a single!!

^K, now I'm freaking excited to hear this.
And, it was a very smart move for Carrie to hand this off to Lauren. It sounds like something that someone of her age should be singing.

^^^Sounds fantastic. The PO Tour was such an amazing spectacle. The truck, the 4-screened real-life background, the Opry duet with Randy Travis, the rising pieces, the wedding cake-esque staircase, just...everything. I can't wait to see what they do with this tour, because I'm sure it will be nothing short of incredible.

^ I really loved the LED dress for Change in the Play On tour. And how she gave the audience what type of song she'd cover. That was really fun. I wish I got to see her live during that tour.

And...Carrie & Brad are featured in the October issue of People Magazine Country Edition: On Carrie:
She thinks I'm funny. She puts up with my lame attempts at humor and always finds something to laugh at even when I miss the mark. She can sing anything. Hearing her interpret a lyric and a melody is breathtaking.
Her husband Mike:
It’s wonderful to see two very nice, classy people find one another in this world. And I love it that they met on eHarmony.
Our history hosting the CMA awards:
Some of my favorite memories are from planning meetings...Carrie saying "Don't Tim and Faith each have fragrances?" or "Brad, you could sing "Alejandro." We have a certain magic together. She’s the Cher to my Sonny. She's the Tennille to my Captain. She's the Bert to my Ernie - in a strictly platonic way. She's the Barbie to my Ken. She's my gal.
- Brad Paisley On Brad:
He thinks he’s funny. And sometimes he actually is. Brad is all about the tweeting, the joke-telling and the make-everyone-laugh-on-set attitude. You can't be around him and not be in a good mood. He loves the music. Brad is a perfectionist and loves nothing more than to give his fans the best of the best.
Family:
He’s all about family. Brad is constantly talking about his wife and kids. He is a wonderful example of how to balance work and family.
Our history hosting the CMA Awards:
He's a great co-host. Brad is great at thinking on his feet and making up jokes spur-of-the-moment. I’m better at reading the script and keeping things going. We really complement each other. He's the Porter to my Dolly. He's the Conway to my Loretta. The Tim to my Faith (but not in a weird, married sort of way). He's my guy!

LMAO @ Carrie & Mike meeting on eHarmony. You know that's a joke, though, right? LOL. Just making sure. ;) They were introduced at a meet & greet for one of Carrie's shows, by one of her band members, I believe. I love the friendship between Carrie and Brad. It feels so sincere. Can't wait to see what they come up with for this year's CMA opening monologue.

*Promo shots look fantastic. I saw one the other day and was going to post it, but I wasn't sure if it was new or from last year since it's the same background in the pictures. * at the eHarmony comment. *Those 2 are perfect examples of class. It's really, really nice to see how much respect they have for one another. :) All is looking great in Carrie-world right now. I love the CMA promo weeks. When do the AMA and ACA nominees get announced? I'd imagine the last week of September/early October, no?
