I apologize if this has been posted already, but Carrie replied to a thread on the fanclub and said she has no duets planned for the next album. Personally, I adore every single one of her duets, and I'm dying to see her duet with someone besides Brad. Oh well. She did say she is planning to ask a "friend" to sing on one of the songs with her, and even though it won't be an official duet, you'll be able to recognize the other artist's vocals (I'd assume it's because this person is singing harmony).
Vince Gill is the obvious choice, and he does sound great with Carrie, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

^She didn't say vocals, so it may be someone guest appearing on an instrument. I wouldn't be surprised if Vince Gill does background vocals too.
As much as I love ITYS & LAM, I kind of hope there are no covers on the new album. I want all-new solo material.

I don't need a duet, and not that it's about me, but I would love to see her at least write a song with Miranda. I can't believe these two haven't really done anything together except for that one awards show performance.

Yeah me too, I feel like we've gotten enough duets in the past year. The more Carrie, the better right now And yeah, I would like her to work with Miranda someday. I guess it will happen eventually, though.

I actually want Carrie to work with Taylor If Taylor could manage to write more maturely rather than high school/college boy melodrama, then I wouldn't mind a Carrie/Taylor co-write.

Carrie can help to bring a different perspective of relationships as well, since Taylor's perspective is generally only at the beginning stage of it. Personally, I feel that if Quitter is acceptable for a Carrie song, I don't get why people would completely oppose to Taylor's songs. She does have some good mature gems now and then, if only people give them a chance... imo. Just ignore most of her singles though lol.

I actually want Carrie to work with Taylor Please NO! And it has nothing to do with Taylor. It's Scott BroWhateverhisnameis. I could just see him spin whatever happens to the song. No, just please, No!

Is this new? Country. Pitch To Publisher. FEMALE.CARRIE UNDERWOOD. Independent publisher, Bob D., who has already generated income for SongU.com members is looking for Arista recording artist, Carrie Underwood. Needs edgy country to great story songs...big choruses and grooves. Think radio singles. Female vocal demos only. Pitch follow-up info: If this guest expresses interest in your song, before pitching it, they will ask for publishing if a major recording results from this particular solicitation. www.songu.com/popPitchDescription.asp?Pid=800I actually think it's quite recent, since it's Pitch #800. The ones prior that one are for artists who still are working on their upcoming albums.

That's probably a new listing but there's no way Carrie's still seeking out songs. She finishes recording this week.

Dear Santa Carrie,
All we Carrie fans want for Christmas is one of the following:
01. The name/album cover for your new album 02. What the name of the lead single will be 03. The announcement of the 2012 tour, including opening acts (dates and cities would be nice too) 04. A release date for the lead single and/or album 05. The release of the lead single
#5 would be wonderful, but since it's a little less realistic, I'd really like #4 please.
Sincerely,
Carrie's fans
p.s. we have all been really good boys and girls this year!

Tom Shapiro's landed a cut on the upcoming album (1:27) "Take Me To The City" is the only registered co-write from this album era w/ involvement from Shapiro. Of course, there's always that chance it's not a Carrie co-write. I really don't think that's the case here, though. In other news, there's a new qt Vitamin Water ad up over here.

How reliable is that video though? Rodney and Lauren just put out albums, so unless he meant that he wrote a song on their current album that will be released to radio soon (although Lauren and Rodney both just put out new singles recently), I don't think we will be hearing a new song written by Tom from them anytime soon. But Jason, RF and Carrie all are working on their new albums so those seem completely possible. Carrie may have recorded his song for the record, but in the process of eliminating songs for the final track list, his song may have been cut because the video was posted in late November and Carrie hasn't finished picking the track list yet (or if she did it was recent). I just wouldn't assume that the video means his song is 100% going to be on the album. But that is a great find and I would really like that to be true. "Take Me To The City" certainly sounds like an interesting song title!

I'd say it's pretty reliable considering he did end up landing a cut on both Wildflower & Take A Back Road. The fact that they're both listed under 'upcoming cuts' in the video was probably just a simple mistake.
Also, from what I've heard, I don't think Carrie's cutting anything in the studio that isn't for sure making the album.

Once we find out anything new and exciting, I can't wait to see how many people here are crapping themselves, myself included. I need me some new Carrie.

Has this been posted yet? CBS News video on Brad, and Carrie comes in at around the 5:20 mark to give some kind words about him. Just thought some of you guys might be interested in seeing Carrie gloat about Brad for a change, instead of him gloating about Carrie (which never gets redundant, but whatever ).

I don't need a duet, and not that it's about me, but I would love to see her at least write a song with Miranda. I can't believe these two haven't really done anything together except for that one awards show performance. I want Carrie and Miranda to work together so bad. It seems like they've become good friends the past few years and they have immense respect for each other as artists. I think they'll work together eventually. Not to take anything away from Carrie, but I think Miranda could give her some really great tips from a songwriting standpoint, because Carrie is still fairly new to writing songs and Miranda has been writing since she was a teen. Who knows though, she could blow my socks off with her cowrites on the new album (and I hope she does), but I'd still like to see what would come out of a Miranda/Carrie writing session. Carrie seems so excited and passionate about the new batch of songs; I don't recall her talking about her previous albums the way she's talking about album 4. The song titles this era have been so interesting, I can't wait to see which ones make the album. If the new one is the same quality (or better) than "Carnival Ride" I will be thrilled; CR is my favorite Carrie album. Personally, I like "Play On" but I feel like it's her weakest effort to-date in terms of quality. As long as she takes a few steps up (which I think we can expect by now), I'll be satisfied.
