According to this interview w/ the Denver Post Ryan Tedder has landed a song on the upcoming album: And then there are his songs slated for release in 2012, from artists as varied as Maroon 5 and K'NAAN, Rascal Flatts and Swedish House Mafia, B.O.B. and Carrie Underwood. IDK. I'm not a fan but at least he's more interesting than Kara & Marti. |

IDK. I'm not a fan but at least he's more interesting than Kara & Marti. And as I know there could be others with different writers, it makes me feel more comfortable knowing that the co-writes we do have with Tedder have Hillary Lindsey as a writer on them as well, we all know she's great. As a lyricist, Tedder isn't so bad. I actually am very fond of some of his material, so I'm anxious to hear what they've come up with. And also, you can never go wrong with Hillary Lindsey.

Tedder has his moments. He co-wrote two songs on Adele's album. Of course Adele was his co-writer, and she's amazing.

I'm personally stoked for this Tedder co-write. He has a good writing knack (most of the time -- recalls Good Life and shudders), and he's a great producer (Rumor Has It by Adele), so I'm sure his contribution was nothing short of extremely beneficial. :)
I'm so excited for this album! It's awesome to see everything take shape.
Do you think there will be a Christmas gift from Carrie to the fans (album title, single title, cover art for the album [or single], etc.)?

not too excited about the tedder co-write...sure hes written good songs with adele, and adele may have more to do with it than tedder. but adele is pop. carrie is not. thats a world of difference. its not just about the lyrics that make a good country song, if what carrie did with tedder is even a country song in the first place.
then theres the halo/already gone stink that will forever be associated with him.

Carrie blogged, check it out.
It's a random one saying she was flipping through the channels on TV looking for the Preds game and came across the re-broadcast of the ACMs, and happened to tune in right when she performed with Steven. She then went on to say she'd love to sing with him all the time in a tone that sort of hinted future possibilities...
That's it, nothing big.

I think we'll get some news about the album and single next week. After that, Carrie will start to appear in alot of magazine covers, tv shows, music blogs, and we'll finally get our patience reward. Something tells me this album will be the ONE that the grammy/CMA voters have been waiting for. After all the awards and number one singles, that's setting the bar really high, but if anyone can keep her music fresh, it's Carrie.
