I Love You This Big is tracking on Real Time Tracker! Sorry for my ignorance , but what does it mean?? If you go to Radio & Records, scroll down until you see the Real Time Tracker, they list what is the currently played #1 song, plus the song that is getting the most action at a particular format (with country, it is measured in audience impressions).

^Thanks! 'Idol' Winner Scotty McCreery Aiming For Hot 100's Top 10Now that "American Idol" has crowned 17-year old Scotty McCreery as its latest winner, how is his coronation single, "I Love You This Big," selling? Presently, industry prognosticators are projecting that the single may sell around 180,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 29 -- the best debut sales week for an "Idol" winner's first single since David Cook did 236,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan with "The Time of My Life" in 2008. McCreery's 180,000-start will likely enable him to debut within the top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next Wednesday (June 1). "Love" could flirt with a possible top 10 entry. Runner-up Lauren Alaina's "Like My Mother Does" may sell 140,000, which will probably give it a top 20 entry. Generally speaking, "Idol" winners first singles get little radio airplay -- which is a factor in determining rank on the Hot 100 (along with sales and streaming data). Though, because both McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina's songs are both country tunes, they could earn a bit more airplay than usual, as their songs will appeal to multiple formats of radio stations. Last year's winner, Lee DeWyze, stumbled with his first single, a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day," which missed all of our radio airplay charts, but debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 24 off the strength of its 95,000-sales start. Two years ago, winner Kris Allen launched at No. 11 with "No Boundaries," thanks to a 134,000 start. www.billboard.com/news/idol-winner-scotty-mccreery-aiming-for-1005206592.story#/news/idol-winner-scotty-mccreery-aiming-for-1005206592.story

These AI kids will only last a few years tops in the biz if that... Just no depth to the music, vocals, their look. This is hilarious to me that so many ppl are suckered into this false representation of what music is! Radio plays it, but it doesn't mean that these AI manufactured songs and kids are quality. Even #1 on sales on itunes doesn't say much. I can't sing worth a darn compared to let's say Miranda Lambert or even Carrie U but I'll tell you...if I was on tv 10 times a year and watched by millions... I'd be popular too. I hope this trend doesn't last long. You may not know this but Carrie came from Idol too! Nothing you said will happen, happened to her. If Scotty and maybe Lauren follow her path and advice (she gave them her # for that) they will be just fine. Scotty IMO is one of the best new male voices to come out in a long time, who just happened to be on a musical reality TV show. Big deal. So was Carrie, Miranda, Chris Young, and Kellie Pickler. Welcome to the 21st Century.

Thank you for the link! I think the song is fine for what it had to be which was an idol coronation song. It's actually one of the better ones, imo. He records better than I thought he would.

It was the most requested song of the day where I live, but then again I live 20 minutes from his hometown... Still I think it is one of the better idol finale songs and it's actually grown on me each listen. His recording voice does sound very good.

I was there at the RBC Center in Raleigh last night where Ryan was going Live to. Over 8000 fans there and it was the biggest turnout every for a finalist in the finale during the live show, even more than Carries was. Over 120 million votes and Scotty won! It's such a great thing to see a guy with this much talent and a great voice win. I've been pulling for him all season and I think will be one of Countrys quick rising and stay on the top artists. This first single is the best first song put out ever by a winner. Its not corny and it fits in perfect with radio. It could very well go #1 and the only thing that can keep if from that would be "Those DJs" who are too ignorant to give Scotty a chance just cause he came from Idol. There are those out there and they have already spoke up about it. Remember DJs let US fans decide for you to play this single don't you or your bosses reject it just cause the artist is an American Idol. Scotty is amazing! I predicts CMA in 2012! Actually incorrect, Clay Aiken had 10,000 people there during the Finale in 2003. Still great though. NC does support it's own very well. I live in Phoenix and we have 2 Country Stations and they are both playing Scotty. The Country Market is huge here. It is possible that his song could be #1 on Billboard next week. Source

It's down to #2 on US iTunes so a #1 Hot 100 debut with not much airplay is very unlikely. It should debut top ten though.

according to Mediabase this song has almost 3 million audience (2.912) with only 287 spins when other songs with 415-444 spins only have 1.615 and 1.739 audiences. They must really be playing his song at the prime times only.

If this hits #1 on the Hot 100, will this be the first Idol winner's coronation song to do so since Carrie, with "Inside Your Heaven" in 2005?

I think Taylor Hicks debuted at #1 in 2006 with his coronation song as well. I just looked it up, and you're right. Taylor's "Do I Make You Proud" was a #1 on the Hot 100. But still, Scotty being the first in 5 years is pretty impressive.

Also, does anyone know when this will be available like at Amazon? I want this & Like My Mother Does, but it appears they decided to put it on iTunes only... which sucks for people who don't freakin' use that. >:(

If it does hit #1 wouldn't it be the first Country song to hit the top of that chart since "Amazed" did 11 years ago? I don't count Carries as a Country song cause "Inside your heaven" was marketed to pop while "I Love You This Big" has strictly been marketed to Country. Even Taylor has not hit that spot, only peaking at #2 with "You Belong with Me."

Like it or not IYH was counted as Country. Although I agree it wasn't really "Country". There was nothing at all country about it. Bo Bice would've been handed that same song had he won (and I think he may have even recorded it, as well)... so they didn't deliberately craft a country-leaning song for her, like they obviously did for the finale this year (since both Top 2 contestants would be going the country route). And it was only marketed as pop music as well. Country radio played it just enough for a low peak of #52, but that doesn't make it country.

"Inside Your Heaven" was never shipped to country radio...a few stations played it and got it to chart, as high as #52 I believe, but that was from unsolicited airplay. It was never sent to radio, so it was not a country single. Only a few stations played it because they knew Carrie was going into country...

Because this is an American Idol single, I've let the iTunes updates continue, for the first week. Now that the post-win hype has worn off, here's a reminder of the country forum rules: 1. No daily Mediabase updates: This is simple. Do not post daily Mediabase updates in any thread for any single. Why not? Because we emphasize more substantive chart analysis that incorporates multiple days of data. Daily updates can be deceiving, and they lead to a chatroom-like atmosphere. 2. No daily updates from iTunes or any other sales or airplay charts: Again, people who post daily iTunes updates tend to do so without adding any real analysis, so don't post them. If it is a significant week for a song on iTunes, i.e., its debut week there, or the week that a televised performance or discount deal or something has the song shooting up the digital charts, then you can post once to note the song's peak on the chart that week. Thanks :)

This debuts at #32 on Billboard Country Songs chart!! I think this is the 4th highest debut of the year—just behind Lady A (#28), "Bleed Red" (#30), and Blake Shelton (#31)...

I was wondering why I had never heard of Brad or his song—then i read that the tune only went on to peak at #35. Hopefully Scotty has a better country music future ahead of him...

Maybe it doesn't count, but I think that Jessica Simpson actually debuted higher than Brad Cotter and I believe, technically, she holds the record.

I think you're right, it looks like Jessica Simpson debuted at #41 with "Come On Over"...
Did Miranda Lambert also debut at #42 with "Me and Charlie Talking"?
