Awesome news about the debut! This guy is really going to be a phenom I believe. I would not be surprised to see him singing on the CMA awards this year and then nominated for some the next! Thats how Carrie did it and Scotty has a great chance at that as well. This song is really great and if his songwriting and selecting is as great this fall, we should hear a great debut album!

This debuts at #32 on Billboard Country Songs chart!! Wow! Congratulations to Scotty, don't mind hearing it on the radio every hour here!

Scotty and Lauren have been added to the City of Hope Celebrity Softball charity event in Nashville on June 11, and they will both present at the 2011 CMT Music Awards on June 8.

Impressive, but somewhat predictable debut given the Idol hype. The question that intrigues me is how far will this fall next week? My guess is it will wind up in the 38-42 range, but there's enough of a gap to suggest it could stay even higher. I see no way it match's the post-Idol frenzy though, when most stations gave it prime placement the next day.
I know this has been shipped to radio, but does anyone know if they plan on actively promoting it, or just riding the sales wave until a more substantiative first single is ready (the way Underwood did it when she won)?

Nice to hear about the ads. Interesting though the 2 stations in Charlotte, WKKT and WSOC haven't officially added the song while alot of other NC stations have. I did hear the song on both stations however in the last week. I'm hoping this song keeps going up that chart. It has had an impressive debut as it only had a few days worth of airplay last week!

It might've already been discussed in here, but I remember hearing Inside Your Heaven and even the live Angels Brought Me Here on country radio after Carrie's final- how far did both of them go at country, in particularly IYH?

IYH got up to #52, I believe, but it was never going to be her 1st single, at least not on country radio anyway.
I'm interested to see if Scotty and his team stick with this, or if this will be his coronation song only and a different song will come out as the "true" single. Personally, I want something else. This is a sloppily written song. I think he's talented, but this song is just...not good.

IYH peaked at #52 for Country, but it's not even remotely Country while Scotty's was written and created to be Country, so it was no surprise that IYH got the #1 on the Hot 100 because it fits that orient much more.

:-/This breaks my heart. :( IYH > ILYT
That said and Idol singles aside, I can't imagine I'll ever keep the station on this song. I love you this BIG? I just can't.

Ok, I was hoping they would wait and give him something better than this, because I can't really see this doing too well. Maybe it can ride the Idol wave into the T10, but I could easily see this flaming out in the teens.

The debut album isn't going to be ready in a while though, might as well get him some radioplay and keep the buzz going throughout the Idol tour period.

I feel like Scotty and Lauren will be the two to revive Idol's "hit-makers".

They just better hope that results don't end up like Archie's second album. ;) They want superstars from this show and both Scotty and Lauren could get there.

If Scotty has a "Some Hearts" type debut success he could easily have a "Carnival ride" type of follow up! Lauren I see having more of a Pickler type success. While I see Scotty being the superstar I see Lauren more of being a very popular opening act. Both will be very successful in their own right. I don't see a big flop out of either of them! I would just love to see Scotty playing at some honky tonks when he's of age, like Billy Bobs in Texas or the Wildhorse Saloon!

Scotty's other song "Out of Summertime" written by Tim Nichols has been released in Denmark. You can go to Itunes, switch your Country to Denmark and then search for the song and hear a 30 second clip of it. You can't buy it though unless you are in Denmark. It is a very good song judging by the clip, sounds like a future hit single! It'd be a great followup to "this big" to come out in August or something. Just thought I'd let the Scotty fans who are here know if they wanna look it up. edit...I just found it here too mjsbigblog.com/scotty-mccreery-out-of-summertime-listen-to-a-snip-of-the-other-winners-song.htmbtw, 6 more adds today for "This Big." Not bad! He may move into the 20s by next week on the Country chart!

Wow! I love the full song! Sounds like something Kenny or Tim would cut! Scottys keeping up with the big leauges and his CD hasn't even been recorded yet. 2012 will be the year of Scotty I believe!

Is Scotty a Republican? If so, maybe he'll enter the presidential race and take over the White House in 2012 too! ;)

Love that 2nd song as well! Cool to hear songs that can relate to someone my age.
I really think it's time a teen male breaks through in the Country genre.
