Just heard this song on the radio and I like the singer who sings it but this sounds like a Shania Twain autobiographical song:
Catchy :)

I've said it a million times, but I wish she and Mutt could find a way to continue their professional relationship and make another record together. That will probably never happen, as I can't imagine them actually writing songs together. But it would be nice if she could find some new co-writers, and he could produce the tracks. His production skills are amazing.
I hope Shania gets to perform the duet with Lionel on the ACMs!

I pretty much started to give up on getting an album when the Vegas deal became official though I still hold hope even though it doesn't seem likely.

I have doubts she'll ever put out another album. She'll just live with the hits she made in the past to make up her shows.

Lionel Richie Moves 20,000 CDs in One Hour on HSN
R&B singer goes country on new 'Tuskegee' LPBy Mark DagostinoMarch 19, 2012 12:20 PM ET Lionel Richie hasn't gone so far as to don a cowboy hat – yet – but that hasn't kept him from feeling the love from the country music world: the R&B singer and Eighties pop star sold a whopping 20,000 copies of his new LP, Tuskegee, in a single hour during his live concert event on HSN last Friday night. "To do this album was very eye-opening," the five-time Grammy winner told Rolling Stone just before the start of the show, which broadcast live from St. Petersburg, Florida to the 24-hour shopping network's TV, Web and Facebook audiences. "I didn't realize that all of country knew all of my songs anyway." Tuskegee, named for the 62-year-old's Alabama hometown and featuring countrified covers of some of his biggest hits (including "Say You, Say Me," "Stuck on You," and "Easy"), teams Richie with a host of country superstars, including Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker (a country crossover artist himself) and Willie Nelson. The album also features the first new recording from Shania Twain in seven years, as she replaces Diana Ross on a new version of "Endless Love." In fact, Richie said Twain was so nervous to record with him, they had to fly to her house in the Caribbean to make it happen and wound up placing microphones in her bedroom just to get her comfortable enough to sing. For Richie, the crossover to country had been decades in the making. "Conway Twitty wanted me to come years ago and 'be country,'" Richie said, "but I was too busy being a Commodore. Then Kenny Rogers wanted me to go country, but I was too busy being the 'pop' Lionel Richie. Then all of a sudden we went into an area where it was, 'Can Lionel Richie rap?' No!" he said with a laugh. "Trust me. I can do it, but you don't want to hear me. Flava Flav said, 'Don't try it! If you want somebody to rap, you call me. I'll rap. You just sing!" Finding himself caught in a country craze that's embracing singers and songwriters from just about any genre these days, Richie finally felt ready to make the leap. "The beautiful part about it is, once I started talking to Tim McGraw and to Kenny Chesney and all of them, it became clear: These songs (of mine) have already been country," he said. "So Lionel Richie's not 'going country.' I'm just joining the songs that are already there. I just have to show up next to 'em and go, 'That's mine.'" While Kenny Rogers was the only guest to join him onstage for the launch event (singing "Lady"), Richie sounded better than ever on twanged-out solo versions of "Dancing on the Ceiling," "All Night Long," "Hello," and more – in front of an live studio audience that included celebrity chefs Todd English and Curtis Stone, as well as fashion icon Twiggy. The HSN Live concert, along with Richie's SXSW appearance last week, were precursors to an upcoming world tour. "My kids are old enough where I can leave home," says the father of three, who admits to loving his role as a grandfather to his daughter Nicole Richie's two kids far more than expected. "I gotta tell ya, I thought it was not going to be sexy at all, (but) I'm having the best time." Rolling Stone

First new recording in 7 years? Are they forgetting 'Today Is Your Day,' and 'White Christmas'? Also, didn't she have that song with Anne Murray?

Music video preview (ten seconds), 3:18 - 3:28!First new recording in 7 years? Are they forgetting 'Today Is Your Day,' and 'White Christmas'? Also, didn't she have that song with Anne Murray? "Endless Love" could have been recorded before those other songs - except for the Anne duet. They must have forgotten she did that one.

The video reminds me of a mix of the "You're Still The One" and "Forever and For Always" music videos and it looks a lot like that video that Martina McBride and Jimmy Buffet did back in 03/04 in terms of color. Either way it's a good video. I wish I could hear the song a little more on radio though.

She has to record another album; she just HAS to! I really think Shania's recording career is over. Yeah, she'll do the Vegas thing, but more as a nostalgia act. If only Shania had taken the Madonna route in terms of divorce. Madonna divorced Sean Penn and released Like a Prayer, filmed Dick Tracy and launched the legendary Blond Ambition tour. Madonna later divorced Guy Ritchie, launched the Sticky and Sweet Sweet tour, directed a film, recorded MDNA and is rehearsing for another stadium/ arena tour.

I wish she'd at least put out like a Christmas album or something, if she's not going to make another regular album. I really hope she does sometime after her Vegas run.

Does anyone know how long she'll be in Vegas? Since it doesn't look like we'll get an album before then, maybe we can get one after.

It would be cool for her to do something during her Vegas run. I know she can't put out a new album and promote it with a tour and all during her show, but maybe put out a Christmas album like I said earlier, or maybe even be a judge on Idol. It couldn't be too hard for her tape 2 shows a week in LA since she's only an hour plane ride away in Vegas.
Anyone here plan on seeing one of her shows in Vegas? I'd definitely like to go to one, but not sure when.

Shania Twain + Lionel Richie Show Emotion in ‘Endless Love’ VideoBy: Amy Sciarretto | 10 hours ago VEVO Country darling Shania Twain replaces Diana Ross on the updated version of Lionel Richie’s 1981 ballad ‘Endless Love.’ It’s a modern redo of a classic song, and in the video, Twain and Richie express intense emotion and passion, so much so that you’d think they were actually a couple. The singers emanate genuine fondness for one another and both are incredibly expressive with their eyes, hands and voices throughout the entire span of the clip. They are separate at first, with Twain’s scenes shot in black and white. She is riding a stallion on a beach while singing. Richie is in color, hanging out inside a bright, white home with a large piano. Images of Twain singing appear in the photos and screens on the wall behind him, so it’s as though they are in the same room. It’s a very cool convention; she’s there, even when she’s not really there. Each singer emotes while singing their parts and it’s very believable. Twain, dressed in white and wearing a cowgirl hat, comes to life and blooms in color when she and Richie meet behind the house. It certainly suggests that love makes you feel alive. Twain is actually riding the horse through the ocean at that point. How dreamy! They embrace and sing while facing each another in the flesh. Images of the the singers clenching their fists and touching their chests appear on the inside screens. It’s quite a romantic couple of minutes. This new version of ‘Endless Love’ appears on Richie’s ‘Tuskegee,’ where he partners with an array of country acts. Taste of Country

Madonna Bested on Charts by...Lionel Richie!Ok, if you’d asked me to predict who would outsell Madonna’s “MDNA” album upon its release, I would have said Adele or Lady Gaga. Right? I mean, not Lionel Richie. Lionel Richie! He’s number 1 on ITunes for downloads and Amazon.com on physical CDs. He’s outselling Madonna on her release day with an album of his hits re-recorded with country stars. “Tuskegee” features Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers (doing “Lady,” which he wrote), Jimmy Buffet, and so on.
It’s not like Madge doesn’t have guest stars. She has Nikki Minaj and MIA–she chose them, she said, because they were “bad asses.”
But who’d bad now? Lionel Richie is totally un-hip, or cutting edge. He’s just a nice guy and a great songwriter with a real catalog. “Tuskegee” has simply taken off. And it’s really beating “MDNA.” After all the hype, “MDNA” is showing up as number 3, behind perennial Adele at number 2. But never, ever underestimate the power of country stars. And Madonna and Lionel are vaguely commercial cousins under UMG. Madonna is on Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope. Lionel is on Mercury Nashville, which you wouldn’t think could outdo Iovine. But game is on. Lionel is even outselling “The Hunger Games” soundtrack, which was looking like the big hit through Sunday. Bravo, Lionel. Well played.Forbes

LOL 2 seconds at #1 on iTunes and he's outselling her? Hardly.
Also, Amazon sales are a small percentage when talking about iTunes or physical sales.

Is she working on another album? Lionel isn't outselling Madonna altogether though. I remember reading that she had been writing songs for quite some time, and even last spring I think she said in an interview that she would be in the studio recording over the summer (last summer). But I don't know if she actually did or not.

At the moment I'm typing this, Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee" album currently remains # 1 on Amazon. I think the point of that article is one that I agree with: The mere fact that Lionel's album is doing well enough to even reach # 1 on ITunes and/or Amazon is quite amazing. How it will fare on the Billboard charts remains to be seen, but it's doing much better than expected.
