Does anyone know if Shania ever performed any of the ballad album tracks from The Woman In Me album live? I've been searching on YouTube for live performances of "Is There Life After Love?", "Raining On Our Love" and "Leaving Is the Only Way Out", but I can't find them. I know she didn't tour for this album, but I don't know if there's any video of her singing these live or not...

Shania Twain Singing Competition Winners ChosenPosted Aug 27th 2012 2:00PM by Erin Duvall / CommentsMark Abrahams After two months of reviewing more than 100 auditions from Caesar Entertainment's Total Rewards singing booth at CMA Music Fest, as well as video entries to Caesars Palace's Facebook page, winners have been chosen to see Shania Twain live in Las Vegas. The first, Madelyn Victoria Vallejo of San Benito, Texas, was chosen by a panel of judges for her rendition of "You're Still the One." "I have been a fan of Shania since I was about five years old, and would sing her song 'Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under' all the time," recalls the 21-year-old fan. "I would also watch her music videos and try to imitate the way she would perform. I love her!" Vallejo will receive a three-night stay at Caesars Palace, a $200 dining credit and two tickets to see "Shania: Still the One" at The Colosseum. In addition, the aspiring singer will perform in a show of her own at the Piano Bar at Harrah's Las Vegas in December. Also chosen, this time by the public, was Robyn Dewar, who sang the country superstar's latest single, "Today Is Your Day," in her video audition. (Watch it below.) The 42-year-old fellow Canadian will receive a two-night stay at Caesars Palace, a $100 dining credit and two tickets to "Shania: Still the One." "A little red dragonfly landed on my camera during the shooting of my video submission," Dewar recalls. "I'd never seen a red dragonfly before so I figured it was a sign that today is my day!" Shania kicks off her Las Vegas residency on Dec. 1. Get details here. Source

Shania Twain should work with Max Martin if she ever wants to do another album. I think he'd be able to pick up where Mutt Lange left off.

On Spotify: Happy Birthday, Shania Twain!
Celebrate the most successful female country singer in musicJon LeMay Despite only releasing four albums in nearly 20 years, country-pop queen Shania Twain remains the best-selling female country music star in the world, selling more than 34 million albums in the U.S. and 75 million albums worldwide. 1997's Come On Over, the singer's third album, sold more than 20 million copies stateside, making it only one of eight albums ever released to achieve this feat. The 5-time Grammy award winner turns 47 today, and while she preps for an upcoming two-year run at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace, check out our Happy Birthday, Shania Twain Playlist below, featuring more than 30 of her biggest hits. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesJason Merritt, Getty Images Happy birthday to Shania Twain today, August 28! The singer has offered cutting-edge country music and fashion in the 18 years since releasing ‘The Woman With Me’ in 1995. While this wasn’t her debut album, its success (over 12 million copies sold in the U.S. alone) changed the landscape of country music forever. Twain pushed the limits onstage and on red carpets, as well. Early on, she caught the eyes of many male country music fans by wearing shirts that barely covered her stomach, or didn’t at all. She wasn’t afraid to add sex appeal to a genre that was known mostly for its wholesome, conservative approach to life and music videos. In this gallery of Shania Twain photos through the years, you’ll see how the singer evolved into the woman she is today. We begin with her most recent high-profile media appearance and work backward to her debut in the mid-90s. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesRick Diamond, Getty Images 2011 CMT Music Awards After two years spent away from the spotlight to recover from a painful divorce from husband Mutt Lange, Shania Twain showed up in Nashville for the 2011 CMT Music Awards. The singer looked great wearing a flirty, but not too revealing, sleeveless dress. Husband Frédéric Thiébaud joined her for the show. Twain would promote her book and include herself in a hilarious ‘Thelma and Louise’-style introduction to the show. A welcome return from a country music legend. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy Dukes | Yesterday Bryan Bedder, Getty Images 2008 CMA Awards Even though she hadn’t released new music in five years, Shania Twain turned heads on the red carpet of the 2008 CMA Awards in Nashville. She looked stunning in this elegant, strapless, black gown. This photo was taken just months after Twain’s separation from husband Mutt Lange. The singer was no doubt fragile, but it certainly didn’t show. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesBryan Bedder, Getty Images 2004 Bambi Awards The Bambi Awards are a German awards ceremony that many fans of country music didn’t know existed. They do, and Shania Twain won one in 2004. She also performed with Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, presumably singing ‘Party for Two,’ the pop version of the song she recorded with Billy Currington for country radio. Until about the mid-2000s, Twain pushed the country fashion envelope. In this photo, she looks very hip for the times, teasing fans with a midriff-bearing sweater that slips off the shoulder. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesKevin Winter, Getty Images VH1 Big in 2003 Awards The woman in this photo is nearly 40 years old and two years removed from childbirth. While many would (and did) complain that Shania Twain shouldn’t be showing so much skin, one could also argue that she worked hard enough to get back in shape that she deserves to be proud of her body. As for the track suit, well… they were big in the early 2000s, for reasons we can’t quite remember. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesSGranitz, Getty Images 1999 Grammy Awards Those are trophies for Best Female Country Song and Best Female Country Performance in Shania Twain‘s hands. She earned both awards for her hit ‘You’re Still the One.’ As you’ll see next, these weren’t the first accolades for the hit. What a difference a few months can make, however. Twain’s ghostly-white appearance (it could just be the dress) and close-cropped hair are nothing like the the style in her next picture. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesJeff Kravitz, Getty Images 1998 Billboard Music Awards Shania Twain was a superstar by 1998. Her song ‘You’re Still the One’ was the best-selling single in country music that year, and she won the Female Artist of the Year at the 1998 Billboard Music Awards. This was also Twain’s curly period, as she wore her hair in a quasi-perm for the red carpet of this and one other awards show. Her aqua-blue gown looks very regal — quite appropriate for the budding queen of country music. Source Shania Twain: Pictures Through the YearsBy: Billy DukesDiana Freed, Getty Images 1995 Billboard Music Awards By late 1995, country America was more than familiar with Shania Twain. She released four singles that year, including her first No. 1 hit on the U.S. country charts, ‘Any Man of Mine.’ She also changed the image of country females more than any other singer before — or even since. The women that came before her would not have gotten away with showing that much belly on a red carpet. Source

I'd be more than happy to get a Christmas album from her. I'm pretty sure she was scheduled to release one in 2000, but it got cancelled. It would be perfect for her during her Vegas run...new music that doesn't require a tour or as much promotion as a standard album would. And I think a Shania Christmas album would sell pretty well and get good airplay on AC. I'd also love to hear a few original Christmas songs written by her. :) It looks like she's in no rush to record her next standard album though. I'm sure most of the writing really is done as she said it is, but she probably won't record until her Vegas run is over, as I expected. If she ever does decide to record it... :( P.S. I think she looks amazing in the above photo. :o

I wonder if the same photographer did those photos? I didn't even realize it was the same dress until now lol. Not only is it the same dress, it's the same arms, the same pose, the same lighting, even the same damn shadows on the clavicle. It's Shania's face photoshopped in place of Whitney's.

I don't know that Shania's head was photoshopped onto Whitney's body. Shania's head does not looked photoshopped in her photo. If it was, whomever did it did a really good job, except for the color of the dress. I think Shania's dress looks Gold in color. Whitney's looks kind of Silver. The color of the fabric on Whitney's shoulders also seems different from Shania's dress, imo. This wouldn't be the first time Shania has worn almost an identical dress that another celebrity has worn. (2007 Fashion Face-off: Shania Twain vs. Hayden Panettiere.) I don't think Shania keeps up with what other celebrities have worn. Based on what Shania has said in interviews, if she likes it, she wears it - even if she's worn it before. (Aug. 1999 BMI Awards; Aug. 2000 High School Reunion)I just think it may be a big mistake by the Shania Twain: Still the One marketing department. The photos are pretty much identical. With that said, it's one promo photo among many for the Vegas show and I think both Whitney and Shania look great in both photos.

This doesn't happen in photography, but it does happen when you substitute one head for another in Photoshop. And Shania's hair looks fake as hell falling down the front of the dress. At any rate, I just think it's really odd.

Yeah, I know, I just happened to realize everything BUT the dress when I first looked at the photo. It wasn't until after that I realized it was the same dress as well. And now that it's been mentioned, it does kind of look photoshopped.

Shania Twain and Michael Bublé make NME’s list of ’30 biggest-selling CDs of the past 30 years’ in the U.K.By Grace Stanisci | Up Beat – 1 hour 9 minutes ago Twain and Bublé. (Getty Images) With the assistance of the Official Charts Company, NME has narrowed down the "30 biggest-selling CDs of the past 30 years" in the U.K., and two Canucks have earned spots on the list: Shania Twain and Michael Bublé. With 2.7 million albums sold across the pond, Bublé's 2009 record "Crazy Love" came in at No. 16 on the U.K. list and, as NME points out, earned him a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. In comparison, "Crazy Love" has been certified triple platinum in Canada and has achieved a double platinum status in the U.S. The record, produced by David Foster, Bob Rock and Humberto Gatica, also went to No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and won the 37-year-old crooner multiple Juno Awards in the categories of Pop Album of the Year, Album of the Year, and Single of the Year for the track "Haven't Met You Yet." Michael Bublé's "Haven't Met You Yet" VideoCracking the Top 10 and coming in at No. 7 on NME's list is country/pop singer Twain, whose 1997 effort "Come On Over" has sold three million copies in the U.K. to date. The album features singles like "From This Moment On" and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" VideoAccording to Billboard, "Come On Over" also holds the record for best-selling female album of all time, with 15.52 million copies sold in the United State. It comes second only to the most popular album of all time in the U.S., Metallica's self-titled 1991 disc also known as "The Black Album," which has sold 15.79 million copies. Although 47-year-old Twain's record peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's 200 album chart, it went on to top the Country Albums and Canadian Albums charts, taking up residency on each for 151 and 117 weeks, respectively. Rounding out the Top 3 on NME's list are Oasis' 1995 album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" (selling 3.4 million copies), Adele's 2011 hit record "21" (with 3.6 million in sales), and ABBA's 1992 effort "Gold," (which has sold four million copies). Come On Over indeed is one of the best-selling albums, not just of the last 30 years but of all time. The Trouble with the list is that it's probably supposed to be the last 20 years, not 30. There are no albums from before the mid-90s. Oh, NME.

I also read somewhere that Come On Over sold an extra estimated 2 million copies through entities like BMG Music Club, so it's actual sales in the US are probably about 17.5 million, even though Nielsen Soundscan doesn't count those.

Yes. The music club sales for "Come On Over" do add a lot to the total sales which, as you said, are not counted by SoundScan. The music club sales total for "Come On Over" is actually higher than 2 million. As of Feb. 2003, "Come On Over" was the all-time # 1 BMG Music Club seller with 1.99 million in sales just from BMG. (Source)I'm sure the total music club sales for "Come On Over" are much higher when all music clubs sales are factored in.

Yeah, I've always wondered why the album is certified 2x Diamond (20x Platinum) if it only sold 15.5 million copies, but if you count BMG and all other music clubs, it's actual sales it probably a lot closer to 20 million.

Shania Twain secretly arrives in Las Vegas, starts show rehearsalsCaesars Palace President Gary Selesner, Shania Twain and AEG executive John Meglen in Nashville on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. By Robin Leach (contact)Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 | 6:22 a.m. Superstar singer Shania Twain has slipped secretly into town to start her rehearsals for the new spectacular run at Caesars Palace starting Dec. 1. Her under-the-radar arrival was kept secret as plans were announced for a gala welcome party Nov. 14 at the casino resort’s fountains on the Strip. Shania hardly unpacked fully before going straight to work with two round-the-clock days of costume fittings and wardrobe selections. Vegas DeLuxe has learned exclusively that her 15-male dance crew was finalized last week, and their rehearsals and choreography workouts began at the start of the weekend. “Now it’s for real. The band rehearsals start today,” one of the show’s executives told me. “We are now fully on the way.” Shania arrived with many of the song rehearsals under her belt having spent weeks selecting and working on the material at her home in the Bahamas and quietly in the solitude of her cabin in Ontario. Since arriving, Shania has been continuing work at a private rehearsal studio here and also in her hotel suite. I am reliably told that the moment Sir Elton John wraps his current run Oct. 28 at the Colosseum in Caesars, Shania will move onto that stage Nov. 1. Shania is the creator and executive producer of the show “Still the One.” Her director is Raj Kapoor. “He is a creative phenomenon. The show will have many of his unique special effects. He is highly regarded as the best video-effects guy in the EDM world,” John Meglen, president and co-CEO of AEG Live/Concerts West, who is producing Shania’s show, told me. “We have a couple of very special surprises in store, but we will keep those under wraps until opening night. What I can reveal, though, is that the projection mapping that Raj has created is cutting edge. It’s a major league leap in technology. What we’ve seen already is amazing. Even the insider people are already talking about it on the level of ‘we’ve never seen or experienced that ever before.’ ” Shania talked with me exclusively about the strength of her voice and her game plan for the new Caesars show in a two-part interview posted June 13 (“A happy Shania Twain: ‘My voice is stronger today than ever’ ”) and 14 ( “Shania Twain exclusive, Part 2: Her game plan for Caesars Palace show”) in 2011. She’s been plotting the new show ever since. Shania for a long time had talked of never performing or recording again after she lost her voice following the domestic upheaval in her life. It took our pal Lionel Richie to win her confidence back to start singing again. Now she’s back big time and wants her Las Vegas debut to be the best she’s ever done. I’ve learned that it’s a big production and re-creates her mega tour along with a lot of video of her life. It’s the story of how she crossed over from reaching the top of the country charts to conquering the pop world, too. It’s the story of who she is and who she became. She’s including her #1 hits in this production but presenting them with sophistication rather than what you’d see on tour. John explained: “It’s a larger-than-life show, and it really is over the top. Shania is a beautiful lady, very down to Earth, but she has a contrarian side to ensure perfection in everything she does. The audiences will experience all of that. It goes from being overwhelmingly massive to understated intimacy. “You look at the shows we have in the Colosseum: Rod Stewart is tongue-in-cheek, Celine Dion is big and bold, and now Shania is larger than life. Everybody is excited about what she’s bringing to life.” Shania has told her cast and crew here that she’s happy in Las Vegas and loves her hotel home. “She’s already demonstrated a great work ethic. She’s peppy and in good spirits,” I was told. “This production is of major league importance to her, so she wants everything not only right but also way beyond that.” Tickets have sold so fast for her first run starting Dec. 1 that just a few remain. Tickets are already on sale for her second run, which gets underway in March. The box office reports, “That’s doing very well, too, for being so far out.” Fans will be encouraged to greet Shania at her official arrival Nov. 14 at Caesars. It’s an arrival ceremony guaranteed to stop traffic. Last week, I watched as Caesars execs blocked out the ceremony with staff; don’t be surprised if the white horse in her new TV commercial for Caesars makes a return appearance. The Canadian songbird has signed a two-year contract with Caesars to perform “Shania: Still the One” at the Colosseum. Caesars President Gary Selesner welcomed Shania to Las Vegas last week before he left for a business trip in Asia. He said, “Her fans will be taken on a spectacular journey through the various stages of Shania’s life and career. It will be an unforgettable evening filled with music, multisensory and visual experiences, fashion, plus, some very unexpected surprises.” Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.Follow Robin Leach on Twitter at Twitter.com/Robin_Leach.
