Is it me or is there quite a gap between #10 and #11?

I haven't looked at the chart for awhile, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see GaGa at #6 already. The gap between 4, 5, and 6 is pretty big though. Hopefully IWG starts picking up soon

Sometimes there is a decent gap between titles, chart. I checked Hot 100 Airplay/Radio Songs (which covers the period through Tuesday), and there's no missing tracks. :)
I don't expect "I Wanna Go" to approach the airplay success of the first two singles- not that it's impossible, but based on this, its official impact week, it does not look like it will. It could perform as well as the third single from the last album-"If U Seek Amy" peaked around 18 or so on Hot 100 Airplay, didn't it?

I can see what you mean, but Jive are definitely giving this more of a push this time around, especially as this song is used as the promo campaign for the TV network Bravo's summer show lineup.

^Bravo is kinda limited in its reach, though, no? :) if it's being airted on NBC, too, that would boost exposure a little. TTWE was used in SYTYCD promos, too- was HIAM used in any?

Which is why I also want to bring up how incredible it is that "Superbass" is Nicki's first solo top 10 hit, yet it's the 6th single from her album. Very impressive!

Yes for Nicki getting her first solo Top 10 hit! I would love if Super Bass would peak in the Top 5! I hope Give Me Everything can at least get a week at #1, that'll be great for Pitbull!

None of the three songs that currently outrank "Rolling in the Deep" on iTunes appear to be equipped to make up for the airplay difference. The song, it seems, will get a seventh (and quite possibly final) week atop the chart.

makes me wonder how big the lead was when BEP's released Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling for them to spend 12 weeks and 16 weeks #1 each ??? Or was it 14? Week 7 for Adele seems like such a long time, but 14 weeks is just so crazy!

That will never happen again. The only reason that scandal took place was because there wasn't anything better at the time to dethrone it. It's impossible to happen again, but if it does, I'll go and record something myself trying to make that stop. When they hit week #14 I was so scared they might surpass Mariah, but luckily they didn't.

Of those four hits, LOCK, I'd go with "I Wanna Go" faring the best in the end- perhaps top 20, once things pick up. A peak outside the top 20 would be kinda surprising.
As for the others, maybe once the album's released, Queen B's single could crack the top 40. Outside of a gimmicky "Rih-mix" of some sort, I don't think there's anything that could really boost the other two to top 20 contention (or even top 40 in the case of "I'm into You")

I'm not talking about the quality of the act or the work, I'm talking about having one act having total dominance over the singles chart giving no one else a shot at making it to the top.

Then you really would have hated being the age you are now if this were 1994 during Boyz II Men's strangehold on the US charts that year. Or anytime before the Hot 100 was officially formed.

Not sure about JLO...it seems like OTF was not a sure bet as far as guessing how future singles will do. I wanna go looks to be picking up steam now.

^Probably not, as quality of the record isn't what the charts are about. :)
I said before that I think OTF will be one of those one-sizable-hit-from-the-album deals.
In terms of the gimmicky collaborations, Queen B went there with "Video Phone," but that didn't help all that track all that much. I doubt "California King Bed" will hit the top 20 without some sort of gimmick- the Nivea ads only did so much. "Man Down" is faring better at its radio formats, but the two are close on the Hot 100.

Of course it's possible to happen again. Usher did something similar in 2004 (22 out of 23 weeks at number one, with 6 more weeks on top before the end of the year), Mariah did it in '95 with "Fantasy" and "One Sweet Day" dominating 24 out of 25 weeks, and Boyz II Men held the top spot for 20 out of 22 weeks in '94-'95. I doubt the Black Eyed Peas will repeat that spectacular run, but a similar chart domination by another act will most likely happen again sometime.

I love how we are calling domination of one act at one time a "scandal"
If BEPs 26 week run at #1 is a "scandal", then is Katy Perry's top 10 streak also a "scandal"?

LOL @ "scandal." BEP's tracks had the highest total chart points for 26 consecutive weeks- that's all there is to it.
