Thousands of Glamberts, myself among them, have been anticipating the arrival of Adam Lambert's second album, Trespassing, the way the paparazzi await his arrival on every red carpet, or the way Adam himself presumably awaits his latest shipment of magic space glitter from the Planet Fierce. Hard as it may be to believe, it's been (as of this writing) two years, two months, three hours, and 58 minutes since the release of Adam's debut album For Your Entertainment, while he's managed to keep himself in the heavily guylinered public eye via tireless touring (which made him one of the top-earning Idols of the past year); a live album and DVD; acoustic and remix EPs; appearances on reality shows like "Project Runway" and "Majors & Minors"; and a surprise Queen duet at the MTV Europe Awards so staggeringly magnificent, it practically had fans openly weeping, a lack of new studio material from His Royal Glamness has been frustrating indeed. But good things come to those who wait, and based on the four unreleased Trespassing tracks I have heard, his sophomore album is going to good indeed.

Actually, scratch that. It's going to be great.

It's been a while since vocal sensation Adam Lambert released his debut album, ‘For Your Entertainment’, but Pressparty were honoured to listen to a private play of tracks from his new album this week, and can reveal that the star is back with an amazing offering that showcases a whole other side of his phenomenal talent.

‘Trespassing’ is the title of the hitmaker’s sophomore record and it doesn’t disappoint. During his five song set at London's Dover Street Arts Club, he played new single 'Better Than I Know Myself', the title track from his new album (which comes out on March 19) and 'Fever' taken from his debut album 'For Your Entertainment'. The singer also dedicated the track 'Outlaws Of Love' to the LGBT community.

Lambert introduced the song by saying: "I wrote this song about the many challenges the gay community faces and how hopeless it sometimes makes me feel." He played:

'Outlaws Of Love'
'Trespassing'
'Whataya Want From Me'

The singer recently told the Daily Star that he is set to join Queen as their new frontman. (Rumor)

While he still looked glam – his sprig of huge hair screams popstar – gone were the usual electro-pumping beats for this showcase to introduce his new second album Trespassing.

And what better way to show off those serious pipes.

First single Better Than I Know Myself is a stirring rock ballad of huge sing-along proportions.

In the video, good Adam battles bad Adam, and on Saturday had more than half a million YouTube views after its first day of release.

But it’s not even the best track in the new batch of material.

Album title track Trespassing, co-written with Pharrell Williams, is a million-dollar smash.

“No trespassing, my ass/Wait til ya get a load of me,” Adam roared in confident, cheeky strides with a lip curl as fine as that of Elvis.

However, it’s the stirring Outlaws Of Love which will push Adam into the next level of super- star status.

Lady GaGa’s Born This Way opened the doors for the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender community to finally feel good about themselves.

This gorgeous track – about equality for all – takes that to the next level.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON: SHOULD ICONIC BAND MEMBERS BE REPLACED? (QUEEN, THIN LIZZY FEATURE)



With the speculation rife that Sonisphere will host Queen this summer with American Idol’s Adam Lambert at the hilt, it has raised the age old debate of: should you replace a band member in an iconic band? It’s an age old problem; bands can’t avoid arguments, people passing away or simple artistic differences, but there will never be one definite answer.

Queen are the prominent example. How can anyone really replace Freddie Mercury? It’s a simple answer: they can’t. At least Adam Lambert – a huge fan of Queen in the first place – can openly acknowledge that he will not replace such a legend and merely wants to pay tribute to him. He recently said, “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f**king great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of. After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of backlash from people saying: ‘You can’t replace Freddie Mercury.’ But I already knew that. There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That’s impossible. The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honour and one I’m in no way going to shirk.”

So are the band right to do it? Personally, yes. How many people have been raised on Queen and never had the opportunity to see them? Few would be naive enough to think it would be anywhere near the experience of seeing the band with Freddie, but on the contrary the feeling of seeing so many iconic numbers live would justify it. Why Queen are right do proceed is that they have found the right person. Whether stern metal-heads in Knebworth – should the headline rumour be true – agree or not that the American Idol alum should be on their turf or not is to be seen.

While, as said, no one can replace Freddie Mercury, the band have found someone able to embody a lot of his qualities and also feel humbled by the opportunity. Adam Lambert has a fantastic vocal range and is often compared to Freddie in various aspects, he has a great stage presence and will undoubtedly do everything in his power to pay testament to the man rather than take his place. This – to many – is a good set up; to others the idea seems nothing more than a tribute band.

Adam Lambert “Trespassing” Release Date Delayed

The March 20tth release date Adam Lambert announced for his upcoming album, Trespassing, has delayed, he told Z100 in New York City yesterday.

Adam says the album will be released in “Mapril”–so no new firm release date yet as Adam finished up some last minute tunes for the album

“It’s not finished,” explained Adam, “There are some new songs that we are doing last minute that are really good…Dr. Luke songs that are very radio…it’s all for the best.”

“I want that album to be amazeballs,” he added.

All you have to do is scroll through the pages and pages of promo leading up to the album release to know that jetting Adam around the world and all the magazine write-ups isn't coming cheaply. The label wants a worldwide smash as do most artists. I almost fell bad for Adam because I think there's a lot of pressure on him to blow up this time around. I hope he can handle it. He seems to be pretty good so far.

You mean his label. Adam like most newer artists don't really have as much control as you think. And yes, I hate RCA for releasing mediocre single 1st. Just like Kelly Clarkson's, difference is that she is more established so her single was at least able to become a moderate hit before releasing the big hit.

I can't believe the label didn't test this song out to radio to know what kind of response it would get and if radio would get on board. I can understand them going the safe route but than again RCA sucks in picking first singles. This feels so much like the first era with the first single FYE and now they'll let BTIKM ride it out and drop a 2nd single. It's doing much better internationally so they'll make their money back that way. They are so f$cked up but they are invested in him and this album so I'm hoping they have a game plan here.

I'm not worried about Adam handling the pressure. He's been in the business for 15yrs so he knows what to expect. I think if the day comes where it can get too much for him he would walk away and live his life before all the fame and media attention came along. I think his fans expect too much too soon and as for the label they may be looking at a long term goal with him rather than a short goal. I think the reason why they are spending more time internationally rather than US is because like Adam said himself being the first open gay pop star wasn't going to be easy in the US. Even if he a had a sure fire hit song on his hands I still don't think you will see US radio totally embrace him. His hits songs will probably always go as far as WWFM went which is OK. I think the media also kinds of knows this and it is probably why he gets a lot of support from them to help keep his name out there. Also he's a really nice guy to them. That's just my take on it and if he never gets a hit song but does well touring WW I'm good.
