The creator of the old thread is no longer a member, so the thread title can't be edited when the album title is dropped, figured I'd just start a new one. ;) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Mine 2. Get It 3. The Woman You Love feat. Busta Rhymes 4. Perfect So Far 5. Don’t Tell Me No 6. Paradise 7. Three Words 8. Never Should Have 9. Bona Fide Survivor 10. That’s What We Do feat. R. Kelly 11. R.I.P. 12. Woman to Woman feat. Keyshia ColeInteresting that almost 3 years later and almost every non single from the original track list has managed to make the CD in one way or another…..the only two that missed out were 'Get It' and ,ironically her personal favorite , 'Paradise'.

^Unless Mine was retitled, it didn't make it either. And she said the producer of Paradise lost the original files so she couldn't finish it.

^Mine was the original title of She Can't.
The newer material (basically the first half of the album) is definitely stronger than the stuff from 2012 but it all comes together really well.

Count is giving me everything I need! Ashanti needs to serve that ratchet bop to the masses next!

Maybe she should flood the radios with multiple songs…..get her name and music out there and be heard! Put out Count for Urban, Runaway for like the AC and First Real Love as planned.

The album is okay. I definitely prefer "The Declaration" over it.

I think it's one of her better albums. Better than her last one, IMO. The highlights are No Where, Early in the Mornin, Love Games, Don't Tell Me No and I Got It. I Got It is seriously the comeback smash that never had a chance.
I was just thinking though, her voice has definitely gotten stronger over the years and she certainly has more control and with that, her singing style has become more typical of someone like Keyshia Cole than someone like Ciara.
But when you think about the singing style of the up and comers like Jhene Aiko and Tinashe, with their vocals just kind of gliding over the beat, that is clearly inspired by Aaliyah but it's also what Ashanti was doing in a lot of her earlier stuff. It's just weird that right now, as she finally gets a more full voice and can pull off more vocally showy songs, the climate of R&B is more favorable to people singing like she did when she first came out.

So they pushed back this album for 2 years just to drop the album out of the blue and with no single serviced to radio? Absolutely pointless. She'll be lucky to sell 10k first week. With that said... The album sounds really solid. "Early In The Morning" was my favorite from the snippets. The album is okay. I definitely prefer "The Declaration" over it. Lol?? Crazy how much an album can change from nearly 2 minute long snippets to the full songs…..

Album is solid. Where is the TV promo, though? It better be coming up next or the sales are going to be low. I don't think this album is about sales for her though.

Delete the first 3 tracks, start the album with Count and it's one of her most solid projects to date.

I haven't listened to this many Ashanti songs back to back in a while. I almost forgot how painfully annoying her voice can be. And I forgot how she likes to fit as many words/syllables as she can in a line... But I like
Count Scars Never Should Have She Can't Don't Tell Me No I Got It
SCARS is my favorite song on the album. She dragged Nelly!!! Great record. The latter half of the album is a lot better than the start. I wish she would have at least kept THE WOMAN YOU LOVE on the album.

The album is basic as hell. It's no mystery why singers like Ashanti and Ciara flop. They flopping because they keep trying to give people this sound that no one wants to hear. Ciara dropped the smash Body Party (finally got it right), and followed it up with I'm Out, a Gimme Dat knockout, and was wondering why no one was trying to feature that album on their car stereo, home stereo, ipod, ipads and other electronics. I do not like Beyonce's new album, but one thing I admire about her and her material is that she switches it up. Ciara and Ashanti are stuck in this sound and have been for several albums. WIth that said, this album sounds like material from her 3rd album upward.
When she first came out, everybody thought she was a baby Mary. Irv smelt money so he rush released her second album and just put everything and anything on it. Then she dropped her third album and it has been generic R&B ever since.

I think one of this girl's issues is that she has absolutely no personality, and that shines through on most of Braveheart. The only memorable tracks to me are the title track, "Count," "Scars" and "Early in the Morning," and I would be surprised if any of them worked as singles.
The cover, though, is beautiful.
I'm still just pressed that "The Woman You Love" flopped.

Don't bring Cisus into this. Her album was flawless and was filled with urban and pop hits. Her only problem has always been her team/label.

"Count" needs to be the next single followed by "Scars" because Nelly needs to be publicly dragged. Count is the most radio friendly after "I Got It." And where is the promo for I Got It? Has she forgotten about TV because people have forgotten about her. Smh, sad when she actually is talented but she just has a horrible, dated team around her aka family members. I'm all about having trustworthy people in your circle but her career is stalled and her family members aren't business savvy.
Also, her voice has improved drastically but she needs voice lessons to really use it well and if she wants to keep dancing, she needs to fire brice vick and his boys and girls club choreography.

I like the album. I do agree that First Real Love is not the proper single follow up. Count would work much better. I also think Early In The Morning has a shot. Not sure what happened with the promo for I Got It but I will be supporting her on March 4.

I predict worse opening numbers than The Spirit Indestructible. I don't think anyone knows this will be out in a week.

She might not be getting any radio play but she's been promoting this thing on social media for over a year and with over 1m FB likes, Twitter followers, and 600k IG followers, it's not being released completely under the radar by any means. 15-30k is reasonable.

If you have ever watched her interviews or ustream's, you'd she she has buckets of personality and is quite real…..however i will admit that she is usually very "safe' and 'political" with her responses, but this has changed during the Braveheart era.
