The medley actually broke into the top 10 yesterday and is now at #9, with Thunder sitting at #4 and Young Dumb & Broke having massive gains -- it's currently dark green and at #10. I actually had no idea the medley would hold up on by itself so well. Plus, it's helping both songs. This is most definitely a nice surprise.

Really interesting that the mash-up helped the songs individually. I would have thought the only people that would be interested in the mash-up would've already had each song individually.

This is what Billboard said on this week's Hot 100 article: This makes sense. They're treating it like a remix. This new "remix" of each song drastically changes the lyrical and compositional structures of each individual song technically, so it gets counted separately. Though it would have been cool to see it split 50/50. |

I think Apple means top selling song item. Despacito has its total sales divvied up by the Spanish only single and the remix, while Shape of You had the majority of its sales from the single off the deluxe album.
