Once it gets put on the front page they will. Now even people that don't care about the remix but didn't want to purchase the original song for 1.29, will have an incentive to purchase it.

LMFAO @ Katy's EPICFAIL of a remix! They look so desperate with the deep discount to 69 cents. Glad it's currently flopping. They probably will have to discount the original version to 69 cents for this to get to #1.

How many hours has the remix been out?
Any comparisons to how it's doing compared to the S&M and TTWE remixes?

It's been out a day. Not sure where TTWE was, but it was definitely Top 30. This ain't even Top 100. AND.. It's discounted. LMFAO

IIRC, the TTWE remix moved up very slow on release day (Monday). It wasn't until the iTunes ad went up on Tuesday that it began to move up quicker. Still, it never got to number 1. On the other hand, S&M was VERY instant and hit number one pretty quick.

I hope this marks the end of these remixes just to get a higher chart position (S&M, TTWE). Also, it proves that even with Katy Perry, Missy Elliot is irrelevant now.

They should've just released the dance mixes. They were far and away better and would've sold more.

Guys there must be an add on the start page of itunes. S&M & TTWE have adds for 5-6 days. Many people don't know about that remix. Most of the people don't follow that blogs like that one. But you're right, Riri was most clever , she collaborated with Britney who has more digital strength on the first weeks than Missy.... I wanted that remix with Mariah.

I don't know for sure if Last Friday Night will make it to #1 on the Hot 100 but, one thing is for sure....Missy Elliott will not.

I don't get why there's no ad. All this extra effort with the remix and they're not even promoting it? I don't get it.

There is an ad for me on the front page? Ad, slashed prices, and quickie remix is a lot of promo to me. Will they release more remixes this week if it looks like it will miss #1 though? Maybe more remixes and perform it somewhere? The most surprising part of this for me is them using Missy. I thought, for sure, they would get Rihanna or Britney because that is guaranteed 40-50K more sold. I am sure both of them would want to rack up another #1 too so I cannot imagine them turning it down. Easiest #1 and 10 minutes in a studio ever! Makes sense from a business point of view though I LOVE Missy and want to see her do well again.

Throwing Missy Elliott on a remix is not going to reap the same benefits as putting Britney, Nicki, or Ke$ha on your remix. Missy's last hit was in 2005. There's just no hype surrounding doing a remix with Missy Elliott. This is basically a random remix with added rap by a rapper who's not even relevant anymore. They were probably going with a rapper from the 90s because of the theme of the video, but it was a stupid move in trying to secure a #1.

I sort of hope the remix won't sell enough for Missy being credited. It seems it won't. Granted, she does not have any number ones yet but I don't want her to get one this way. Even Lady Marmalade was more hers in a way than LFN.

Whoops maybe I spoke too soon. I didn't think this would have a noticeable effect on sales. It doesn't seem to be taking sales away from the original yet. It's already at #61 while the original is at #5. I don't even see a front page ad for it yet.

I still think LFN will be number one on Hot 100 without a doubt.

I still think LFN will be number one on Hot 100 without a doubt. I wouldn't be too sure as of right now. Combined popbars for LFN is still 3% below PRA. It will be really close though

^Yeah, and the LFN remix and/or original version has to maintain it's position throughout the week.
Everyone is looking at a LFN vs. PRA matchup for #1 next week, but I wonder if one of the other songs(MLJ or Lighters) can sneak in and surprisingly steal the #1 position? It would be a shocker, but anything is possible this week.

IF LFN, PRA or Lighters are able to pull up big numbers, I can only imagine MLJ's sale since its basically 30% ahead of the pack
