Oh lol I forgot about the VMAs happening. The chart is pretty exciting, and not just in the "will Katy hit #1" way that had been the main story for a few weeks. And the VMA effect may not even have fully kicked in yet.

I love high turnover at #1. I hope the high turnover continues but I knew that if Adele got #1 with SLY fairly quickly nothing and no one will be able to stop her for at least 10 weeks.

So happy for "Someone Like You," "Yoü and I," and "Love on Top"'s iTunes reaction to the VMAs! Love it!

I heard "Call Your Girlfriend" by Robyn when they came back from an ad break.... I wish that song would take off here.

Clearly it's the baby BeyJay that's making the song so popular. "Love on Top" wasn't in my initial favorites from 4, but now I see it for the gem it is.

I see "Love On Top" as the "Sweet Dreams" of 4 so far. Give it a full release, and it'll be a crossover hit all around.

Wow, Love On Top is doing so well! Anyone know RTW's peak on iTunes? I can't remember if it made top 5 or not. I can't believe LOT is right outside the top 5 after 1 performance!

It's clearly the hit of the album. Beyonce is a force and people are just going to have to cope with it.

So Adele has a commanding lead now - do we think this stands a shot at #1 on the Hot 100 after a full post-VMA sales week?

^All of Carter IV is in the top 100 now. Mirror is the highest, at #5. (More proof that it should have been on the standard, IMO.)
I am curious to see how long Adele can hold her big margin lead. I don't know if she'll get the top but she's all but a lock for the top 5. It helps that the VMAs were mostly crap; she was one of the few good things about it so she stands out even more just for performing.

So Adele has a commanding lead now - do we think this stands a shot at #1 on the Hot 100 after a full post-VMA sales week? If it mirrors the Brits effect it will just keep on pulling away at the top (the signs are already there that this will happen). I think SLY sold 110k in the UK in its first full week after The Brits aired and given that the US is a much much bigger singles market it *could* pull in 300k+. And IMO that would be more than enough when added to its expected 30m+ AI by then. But, unlike in the UK at the time, over 3 million US citizens already have the song so who knows?

Beyonce performance was remarkable among such boring show and it helps she's getting press for her pregnancy.
It'd be interesting to see LOT become a hit, though.
