So, I like "The Vision Of Love," but if "My Weakness" isn't sent as a future (and preferably the next) single...

Gosh, Kris Allen is really like a fine wine...this album is a gem from beginning to end. I'm really glad these are longer snippets (I hate 20-30 second clips - how can anyone discern anything from that?). So inevitably, just like I did with KATA, I will be here six-seven months later complaining about how his label screwed up such an easy album.

The album sounds great, the Idol's (that matter) are coming hard with their new albums (Kelly, Carrie, Kris). Hope Haley's measures up too.

Loving all the snippets. My vote for single #2 is "Rooftops", but wouldn't be upset with "My Weakness" "Better with You" or even "Monster" (the latter is my favorite song on the album)

You all know that a few of the songs are on YouTube, right? He performed an impromptu concert last night in Santa Monica, and performed about 10 songs before the "pier security" busted him for not having a permit. Which, I'm not exactly sure he needed, but that's another point.
Anyways, yeah, "Rooftops," "Out Alive," "Should I," "Better With You," "Shut That Door" were performed, along with his singles, and some covers. He's a pretty cool guy.

What was wrong with that?
Was it actually in violation of any laws?

The only actual violation that could have taken place is that you need to get a permit to perform on the pier, I guess? I can see that being a necessary rule b/c they have to be prepared to manage the crowd. The cop was unnecessarily rude about it, however, and I bet had a large gathering not occurred he probably wouldn't have done anything.
That's pretty cool that Kris attracted a crowd though, and hey, it got him some unexpected press. Not too bad, Mr. Allen. :)

I actually think that looks awfully generous. I expect him to do even less than that. Like 15k.

I didn't even know his album was coming out so soon. I'll be buying it the first day, his first album was that solid.

I didn't even know his album was coming out so soon. I'll be buying it the first day, his first album was that solid. I've heard the snippets. You won't be disappointed. I don't think 40k is a 'generous' estimate. His following is very loyal. People who like Kris tend to have the same attitude Hefty does to his music - they think he's a reliable artist, they root for him and will buy him without hesitation. For comparison's sake, I'd say he is probably at roughly the same level David Cook is now re: fanbase size and commitment, and David's second album opened with 46k. Also keep in mind that his debut didn't open huge either (~80k), and at the time that album was released, LLWD was doing nothing and his promotional schedule leading into that week was not that big. So he's not someone who is going from being once heavily promoted/had a hit song on radio before the album release to having none of those things. If that was the case then sure, I'd expect him to lose like 70% to 80% of what he started with...but then if that was the case then KATA would have opened with a bigger number and we'd still be looking at a 40k-ish opening now anyway. But comparing the way the two eras both kicked off, the only big advantage KATA had IMO was that he was the brand new Idol guy at the time. So 'only' losing 50% of his initial opening seems about right. The real pain for me will be if he doesn't manage to get a moderate hit this era like he did with LLWD, in which case it will be a struggle for the album to even get to 100k. I'm hopeful he'll get at least one HAC hit though.

40K? More like 20K at best. Just look at his single sales.

He'll fall in between Cook and Archuleta. I'd say 30k +/-5.

"My Weakness" is SUCH a jam. That should have been the first single.

He'll fall in between Cook and Archuleta. I'd say 30k +/-5. Kris's 'Thank You Camellia' is currently at #538 on Amazon's Bestsellers list. I'm not sure that it will outsell David Archie's 'The Other Side Of Down' which sold 24,000 copies in first week.

I thought AMAZON was only one out of many places that the album is available for pre-order? I'll wait till the day of release to see where it falls on itunes and what HDD would predict. No one can tell anything till that day since these are just pre-orders lol!
