I've seen some of Mimi's other albums discounted, but not quite as low as Daydream- i.e. $7 vs. $5. I've seen the first few albums at Walmart for $7-$9, Rainbow has been marked down at a few outlets over the years, etc. etc. And, Glitter was part of Walmart's Rollback promo several years ago, at $7, but didn't sell the weekly quantities as Daydream is at the moment. Air Supply still hanging onto the chart, too. Same for Backstreet Boys' Millennium and Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love, among other markdowns. I know Best Buy has a bunch of these older albums on sale for $5 |

^Well, it was a huge-selling album- and at $5 and with the recent NKOTBSB touring, maybe some are reliving the "glory" of early 2000s Max Martin pop.

I noticed that album priced $5 at Walmart/Best Buy...just wish they would price 1 or a couple of her studio albums at that price....notice a lot of stores don't even really carry her older albums, Jive should print some more and send some out. |

If you view the catalog charts each week you notice mostly greatest hits albums and classic rock. There is very little studio pop albums. This is not a knock on Britney or (insert your favorite artist) but if physical copies of old Britney albums had the potential of selling, stores would carry them.
These albums are readily available on itunes and other places already but they don't seem to make much of an impact as it stands

That is true. There are only a couple of exceptions of a Pop diva's individual work - Daydream and Let's Talk About Love, that still move a few units thanks to the discount. The rest are all greatest hits packages and standards from the 70s.

Go to any used CD store -- All the huge pop albums from 10ish years ago are usually a buck or less -- I think people who want to buy those albums today probably get them cheap used.

I'd think that Cracked Rear View is on discount, too- unless Darius' solo work has rekindled interest in the band (likely not).
