You know they're doing something right when one of very few Active bands that actually belongs on Alternative gets four songs into the top 30 Alternative. :).

Why is it so clear to you? They won't be risking a lot releasing a fifth single. I'd say another single can get Top 10 from the album.

Even though I doubt a fifth single would release the Top 2 on Active as all four have very impressively, I could imagine that it would easily make the Top 20 and probably even Top 10 since the others did so incredibly well.

And it's also worth noting that there is more sentimentality for this album than there will be for the next, which adds further credence for a fifth single.

So what would be a good choice for a fifth single? As I said before, "Natural Born Killer" or "Victim" wold work well. But if they wanted to go all out and end this era in an epic way (and be the total tribute of The Rev), they should release "Fiction."

Four very successful singles deep and finished touring in America for the album. I just get the sense that they'd rather leave radio on a high note than milk the record for every last drop and make everyone sick of them. Always leave them wanting more. Completely agree. There's no reason not to. Even though I doubt a fifth single would release the Top 2 on Active as all four have very impressively, I could imagine that it would easily make the Top 20 and probably even Top 10 since the others did so incredibly well. I could see a few Active Rock radio stations giving unsolicited airplay to a random album cut, but there isn't a unanimously popular one left to rally behind, like, say, the Red Hot Chili Peppers picking up airplay for "Parallel Universe" as the unofficial fifth Californication single. And it's also worth noting that there is more sentimentality for this album than there will be for the next, which adds further credence for a fifth single. Duly noted. I'd still be pretty surprised if one gets pushed, though. But if they wanted to go all out and end this era in an epic way (and be the total tribute of The Rev), they should release "Fiction." It'd be fitting, of course, but "Fiction" is so not a radio song, it would either barely scrape the Active Rock chart or miss completely (more likely).

It'd be fitting, of course, but "Fiction" is so not a radio song, it would either barely scrape the Active Rock chart or miss completely (more likely). It's an Avenged Sevenfold single coming off three #1's and a #2 single. People are in love with them and would be much more flexible with anything that doesn't fit the mold of a typical radio single with them, and with them right now than almost any other artist or any other time. It might hurt their recently established dominance of active rock radio further down the road, but I think it would at the very least peak at around #30, especially if it got a radio edit. The best comparison I can think of is "Zzyzx Rd" which so didn't fit active rock either, but Stone Sour was riding a hot streak (albeit less of one than A7X has going now). While "Fiction" is even more out of left field, A7X is even more of an establishment now than Stone Sour has ever been. I'd say "Fiction" would go top 30 with a shot at top 20 and a top 50 scraping on alternative.
