Wow Afrojack is getting huge updates now! What finally brought this on? Basically like "Stereo Love".. it's finally getting support from bigger stations too late in the game.

Other acts slammed out hit after hit, took a break (times varying) and did great upon their arrival. it doesn't matter what decade it was- there are always new acts coming to nip at their heels. I suppose because RiRi doesn't have much of a hand in the music, it makes it easier to churn this stuff out like crazy. Even Mimi Carey- who was very prolific in the 90s- had at least some time in-between, say, a final single from an album and the lead single from a followup. In all seriousness- has there been any gap at all since RiRi hit, that she has not had an active single release out there? If so, I'd be surprised if it was more than 1-2 months. That's a good point as to why Rihanna can keep churning out albums at a fast rate. She's not involved in the writing and production of the songs. When you are, as Mariah and several other artists are, it tends to slow you down since you are creating the album. But when you have songwriting and production teams giving you songs on demand, it takes significantly less time for you to put an album together. Same with Britney.

They all hold writing camps to gather material and build the rest from submissions of the more prolific producers.

^Yah- I don't quite "get" the need to quote a piece of information and have no comment on it- or, quoting the same piece of info on a daily basis. I know Eminem is the only active act at radio among slicknick's faves at the moment, but still. (no Slim Shady directed at slicknick, of course. hehe) If "Moves Like Jagger" continues at its rate of gains, it will be the next title to hit the top 5 in airplay. Could happen in 4-5 days.

Clearly he's in the wrong thread - he's looking for "Bad Meets Evil" in the CHR forum. After all, surely his intention isn't to irritate any of us on a daily basis, right?

Can we still get an update for Best Thing I Never Had? Please! I don't compile the updates nor do I have any access to compile them myself, I just copy-paste them from Orkut over to here and format them a little. If you want to try, you could go and request it (go to the Source link from my chart post, you'll need to create an account though), although I can't guarantee you'll have success with that, especially considering that that place predominantly speaks Brazilian Portuguese not English. Sorry

How could you be such a disrespectful f**k? His intention is clearly to simplify the task of scouring through the terribly complicated update posts to locate the song that we all love for us by extracting the update we're all just here for from my daily clusterf**k and re-posting it in a way that we don't all have to individually go through hours of struggle in attempt to find the update. He's clearly trying to be very helpful to us, not irritative by any sense of the word. You must just be experiencing in a prodigious quantity of irritation because 'Lighters' is snatching your deceased faves' wigs.

Wow when was the last time the current week's #1 AirPlay song (LFN) wasn't even in the same week's Hot 100 top 10?

Billboard.com:
On the show, the diva sang the album's latest single, "Someone Like You," which also flies 11-1 on the Digital Songs chart with 275,000 (up 191%). She bumps "Moves Like Jagger," by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera, down 1-3 with 207,000 (down 5%). Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" is sandwiched between the two, standing steady at No. 2 with 218,000 (up 12%). Other obvious gainer thanks to the VMA show is Beyonce, who announced she was pregnant during her performance of "Love On Top." "Love" debuts at No. 10 on Digital Songs with 113,000 (up 803%).
Over on the Digital Songs chart, there is a ton of movement in the top 10. Aside from the big jumps from Adele and Beyonce, two more singles hit the top 10 for the first time.
Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel" (featuring Sabi), rises 13-5 with 159,000 (up 75%) while Lil Wayne's "Mirror" (featuring Bruno Mars), debuts at No. 6 with 149,000. The former was performed on the VMA pre-show, while Wayne closed out the awards with a rendition of "How to Love." Cobra's new album, "Night Shades," also debutes at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 with 9,000.
Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink to That)" posts a 9% sales gain (with 143,000 sold), but gets pushed back 5-7, while LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" also slides despite a gain, falling 4-8 (141,000; up 5%).
Lady Gaga's "You And I" charges 8-4 with 175,000 (up 61%). That's the best sales week for any Gaga song since "The Edge of Glory" debuted at No. 1 with 266,000 on the May 28 chart.
Rounding out the rest of the Digital Songs top 10 is Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts" (featuring Adam Levine), which falls 3-9 with 140,000 (down 4%).
Digital track sales this past week totaled 22.43 million downloads, down less than 1% compared to last week (22.44 million) and up 15% stacked next to the comparable week of 2010 (19.44 million). Year to date track sales are at 868.33 million, up 11% compared to the same total at this point last year (781.81 million).

^Yah, rather comfortably, even with streaming in the mix. There's a 45m gap in Mediabase airplay, and a 68,000 gap in sales.

Congrats Adele for bringing a classic ballad to the top of the charts after a long time.
The last one I remember was James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" , but some remembered "Hey There Dalilah' as well.

"Love on Top's" sales should be enough for a top 20 entry, I gather?
beebee, "Hey There Delilah" looks to be the last No. 1 without any sort of percussion. The last piano-driven ballad, sans any kind of beat, may be "Candle in the Wind 1997." :o

Looks like Adele has it in the bag. Congrats! Depending on how MLJ holds up digitally this week, it has a good chance at returning to the top next week.
And yay at a top 5 placement for Y&I!

No guarantee Gaga will have the #5 slot. We don't know sales for Bad Meets Evil (or Nicki, although she's less likely competition) yet.

^ True. Either way, she'll continue her top 10 streak on the Hot 100. ^Adele and her team setting their sights on Katy Perry's No.-1s-from-one-album feat. Haha, I dunno about that, though it seems like anything is possible for Adele at this point.

Interesting to note that only 2 of the top 10 airplay songs are among the top 10 in sales (Maroon 5 and LMFAO). Yes, radio is stale and still hooked on the summer songs of last month. Which is probably why MLJ and SLY are getting 2+ updates, they need some new songs..

Congrats to Adele. I'm so glad that the radio and itunes audience is embracing songs like SLY and Y&I. Hopefully this will bode well for "Criminal" and "Love on Top".
