There was some talk in RT about this album and it made me rediscover how great it was. It had some great album tracks including "Walking On Sunshine" and "Secretly" among others. The singles were flawless too, despite the whole "Remix" controversy. It was re-released with the Murder Remix of "I'm Real" as a bonus track in 2002, however the remixes for "Ain't It Funny" and "I'm Gonna Be Alright" were only on J to the L-O!: The Remixes.

Her best album to date imo, hard to be believe it came out 10 years ago. Anywho, I pretty much like every song off this album, really from start to finish it delivers ear candy even to this day. We Gotta Talk is <3.

Never heard the album, unfortunately. I do love the singles though!

No, that would be This is me... then. But J.Lo was a great follow up for On The 6, but I'm still bummed there's no latin flavah in it besides I'm Gonna Be Alright, Cariño & Dance With Me, and none were single.

I love 'Love Don't Cost a Thing', 'Play' and 'I'm Real' (the original version). Never cared for the rest of it.

I prefer On The 6 and This Is Me...Then, but it's far better than anything she released after her first three albums.

I decided to give her catalogue another listen since it's been years since I've listened to anything but Get Right and Waiting For Tonight from her.
This is a pretty weak album, I didn't like it much back then and it hasn't held up at all. Besides the singles (half of which aren't even on the album), Si Ya Se Acabo, Come Over and That's Not Me everything is really, really bad imo.
This Is Me...Then is the only decent full album she ever did imo. If her debut wasn't weighed down by so much whispery fluff then it would be good too.

She has always been a TERRIBLE albums artist. This is definitely in running for one of her most consistent.
She lives and dies by her singles and this one had her best batch of singles overall (granted some of them were remixes).

Besides the ~iconic~ album cover and the stellar string of singles (remixes and all), I thought the album was terrible. I would classify many of the tracks as fillers and did not care for them. This Is Me... Then is a much stronger body of work although still patchy in areas. Still never getting the single treatment will go down as one of the biggest crimes in music history along with Migrate

Loved this album. "Secretly" Is my fav I really like "Secretly" too. I read somewhere (I believe it was on last.fm or something, so take it with a grain of salt) that Janet Jackson has stated her love for this song. I can definitely hear the Janet influence on the track.

We Gotta Talk is <3. I agree, and it was also her most versatile! It had hip hop, pop, dance, and salsa! I adore Secretly, Dance With Me (it would have been perfect for movies such as Step Up), Come Over, and We Gotta Talk. This is in my top 3 J. Lo albums along with This Is Me... Then and On the 6.

Really liked this album in the summer of 2001. "Walking on Sunshine" is probably my favorite non-single of hers ever.

20 years old today! I remember, on the day, my sister got my parents to get her this, Dream, and 3LW's albums for her birthday. I was so jealous, so when my parents took me to Borders a few nights later, they bought me a copy of this as well. I don't think they knew about the "play my mother fucking song" line.

Damn... 20 years... how is that possible?! I remember getting this on a family trip... I loved “On the 6” and at the time I had only heard Love Don’t Cost a Thing (and was crazy about it)... I have very fond memories of me listening to this as kid
