Does anyone know if Adele's Set Fire to the Rain is getting spins on radio? It's amazing how well it's selling on iTunes with zero promotion, especially with being certified gold already.

^It's not getting any significant radio airplay, but, like "Rumor Has It" before, it's being used in various ads, isn't it?

Oh ok, thanks. Looks like an obvious 3rd single choice for the US as well.

Looks like WFL and SAIKI will be duking it out for the top spot within the next month.

WFL a possibility but SAIKI? Is there some stellar promo on the horizon? It's been approx 15% behind SLY all week on iTunes and shows no signs of bridging the gap. And PUK doesn't seem to be going to overtake SLY like I've seen predicted, even after their SNL promo.

Next MONTH she said, not next week.
SAIKI will be a smash, everybody loves it and it's just a matter of time when it's the best seller in the country. It's one of those songs that don't need promo because it's inescapable when you go clubbing and meet people...
I'm not saying it will be number one on Hot 100 because there are so many factors but no way it will fail to be top 2.

It's fairly misleading/confusing - does she mean within the next 31 days from now or within the next month, i.e before the end of November? Last week's prediction was a much more ambitious one.

And I also believe that it will be hard for WFL to find enough buyers to be number one on Hot 100. Radio will love it of course but I think Rihanna will have a better shot for #1 with the next single (whatever that is).
My prediction is that SLY will be #1 for a few weeks and then SAIKI will take over. But this is just a good guess obv. and anything can happen.

SLY's wig will be snatched within the next month, and you will just have to deal. ;) SLY's run has been AMAZING. Let's give other songs a chance.

I had no idea PUK had even performed on SNL until after I saw a post explaining its sudden surge on Itunes. About WFL...I said the song could become a threat within the next 2-3 weeks if the video causes a sudden increase in sales, but I also said SLY staying at #1 for at least another two weeks is a given. I also said that SAIKI will more than likely be the song to dethrone SLY NOT PUK. No need to get all hot and bothered...this is a music forum full of predictions... YOU said that SLY would stay at #1 until Christmas. Let's see how well that prediction holds.

SLY is taking off at Rhythmic so I could definitely see it reach 150-160 million. However, both LMFAO and Rihanna have been steadily gaining ground on this all week on Itunes. Not to mention Rihanna has yet to release the video or publicly display a live performance of the song. I dont think LMFAO's airplay will be a factor. I actually see Rihanna passing it overall in the next few days. Its strong digital sales will make up for it though. SLY will remain #1 easily for the next 2-3 weeks. After that, I see both of those songs posing a threat. Just cause.... :)

Rihanna doesn't have to get WFL to #1, she only has to get it to #2 before the inevitable remix will kick in. ;)

I don't think they'll pull the remix ploy for the first single. Slashing the itunes price is more like it.

If they are close I can see them doing some sort of remix or alternate version in addition to slashing prices. Rihanna/Katy do not play when it comes to being close to a #1 ever.

I don't think they'll pull the remix ploy for the first single. Slashing the itunes price is more like it. I doubt that too becuase for a first single, it should have enough hype to leave that mess for later struggling singles. I'm sure she'll get there somehow without a remix.

And talking of hot and bothered, of the 2 of us there's only one who keeps posting incessant iTunes updates about their fave on the dedicated thread (whilst virtually praying for SLY to decrease all the time)...and it sure aint me. Anyway, back to the Hot100.

SLY should get to No. 1 airplay with tomorrow's update. Who would have thought it was going to reach the airplay heights it has?

It's clearly not peaked yet either (although it is understandably slowing). The crucial factor is even the up and coming singles like SAIKI & WFL aren't yet taking chunks out of that huge airplay lead. That will of course happen when SLY peaks but if it actually goes to, say, 160m that's not going to happen for a while yet. And it's all been done without the aid of a remix or any other gimmicks plus the hindrance of 110k+ people per week buying the song on the album. And if it's anything like RITD it will also decrease very slowly after peaking.

And like RITD, SLY is appearing on all sorts of genre charts. It debuted on the all-encompassing Latin Songs chart this week, and it's currently in the top 40 on Mediabase's rhythmic chart (not sure if it's on Billboard's rhythmic chart yet).

#38 on Rhythmic is just crazy without a remix....isn't it? I mean, it's a 100% piano and voice driven ballad FGS :o (the first such Hot100 #1 ever by the way)

There are some dance remixes of SLY floating around. I imagine that some of the plays it's getting are from the mixes.
