Not a fan of that album cover or the fact that she's going with a self-titled release, especially since this is her fifth album (it's somewhat excusable when it's early on in their careers, but this late?). The thing that gets me about it though is that the font blends in with her skin and you can't really read her entire last name.  |

I like the image, but the font/spray paint/positioning near her neck isn't good at all. Like "17" though! Not long now for the album. :)

Getting Black Swan teas from that cover. I don't like it. The eye make up is horrible, and the font is difficult to read. Oh well, the music is what matters the most. I've been kind of losing hype for this album, though. With her releasing HTNGU so early, and not releasing a second single for a good while just deflated the hype that I had. I'll still check the album out, but this era could have been handled a lot better than it has been.

I wont argue much. I think the name of the album (Avril Lavigne) is suitable for the current moment of her career and certainly songs (HTNGU, RnR and 17) are reflections of a rereading of these nearly 10 years (11 years now) and also a reflection of Avril's personality. The cover features an adult trait, and raw (despite the heavy makeup), and stands in front of everything she has ever done.
It would have been better without that white spray. Everything but it is perfect.

I actually think if she hadn't gone with the heavy (read: looks like a kindergartener colored on her face) eyeliner, it would be a stark and haunting cover. Not that that really matches up to the music we've heard so far, but w/e.
