I reviewed this for my college's newspaper in hopes that maybe some more people will hear it. Needless to say, I gave it a glowing review. Definitely one of my favorite albums of the year. GYWYL, 17, Rock n Roll, Hush Hush, and Bitchin Summer are my favorites. I also really like Hello Kitty. Not one of my favorites but I appreciate how different it is for her, plus the chorus is so catchy.

I am so thrilled at how well this album is doing critically. That's really good news. Please, please, please let her team read these reviews and realize the reasons they're praising the album and roll with it. For example: pushing "Hello Kitty" as a single is an awful idea, pushing "Give You What You Like" or "Hush Hush" as singles is a good idea. I really have faith in "Let Me Go" in helping picking this era back up. If everything goes right, it will, and then "Give You What You Like" will come in and help the era have some legs.

Typically my least favorite tracks on Avril's albums are ballads, but the ballads on this are gorgeous. 'Falling Fast' is stunning.

that's still pretty good, considering what singles they put out and how terrible the promo was

Honestly, I think it's terrible. 45k is barely half of what GL sold its first week out (87k). I knew her sales were going to decrease, considering 'HtNGU' didn't exactly set the world on fire and 'RNR' straight-up bombed, but I wasn't expecting a 50% drop. I thought she'd pull at least 60k.

Not surprising. "What The Hell" did much better than "Here's To Never Growing Up". Fingers crossed "Let Me Go" becomes a good sized hit on HAC and helps sustain the album's sales.

Hopefully 'Let Me Go' will do well enough that more singles are released. I want 'Give You What You Like' next, followed by either 'Bitchin' Summer' or 'Sippin' On Sunshine' for the summer. If they play their cards right, this album could have legs. I'd be happy if it was able to at least match GL's overall sales.

She's selling off her name alone. She doesn't have a hit single or public awareness leading into this era. No promotion= no album sales. Happy it can pull that much just by her name. She'll still be the best selling release since L.A Reid took over Epic because of her international markets.

I agree with everyone loving the ballads. They're great. But they still probably shouldn't be singles.

I am not surprised. Like Ciara, I don't believe Avril is a commercially viable artist anymore but I will continue to buy her albums if they are of this level of quality.

Yeah, the fact that she's fallen so far that her name now only affords her 45k is what depresses me. Oh, well. It doesn't matter. I'm just happy that she gave us another great album. And, like I said above, there's always the chance that this album will have decent legs.

My CD is coming today from Amazon so I purposely avoided listening to it online.

Give You What You Like kind of reminds me something. Not a particular song but a style of an artist but I can't put my finger on who.

I love everything about this album. Avril's vocals sound as good as ever and I love how the summery juvenile songs (Bitchin Summer, Sippin On Sunshine, HTNGU) are balanced with more mature dark stuff (GYWYL, Hush Hush, Let Me Go). I'm really praying for some sort of comeback with this album. I obviously don't expect #1s and awards but I'd just like to see positive reviews of the album, performances where Avril seems into the lyrics she is singing and at least moderate chart appearances, either at pop or adult

There are so many summery songs on the album. It's like they wrote five first singles and threw them all on the album.

Different cases....Ciara almost doubled the first week of her last album and has the 4th biggest record on Urban radio this year.....they are heading in different trajectories. Ci had more damage done than Avril by alot. Both of their first two singles from their new albums didn't do all that great, but Ci's 3rd single did so hopefully "LMG" does the same for Avril.

There are so many summery songs on the album. It's like they wrote five first singles and threw them all on the album. That's actually precisely how it went. The album was finished with Avril, David and Chad but L.A Reid sent her back in with "hitmakers" because he didn't hear a single. J Kash, Matt Squire and the oh so lovely Martin Johnson are the result of that. Bitchin' Summer, Rock n Roll, Here's To Never Growing Up, Seventeen and Sippin On Sunshine are interchangeable wanna-be summer smashes that were the last additions to (taint) the album that was considered finished (by Avril) before their involvement. Good ear!

I still have high hopes for Let Me Go. I never heard her 1st 2 singles on the radio here in Brazil and I've heard Let Me Go 3 times already (I don't listen much to radio), which leads me to believe it's at least gonna be a hit here. It sounds great on the radio, a bit nostalgic, which is fine.

Ok, after 3 listens today and 5 since Tuesday, I finally got my review for this album. In short, I don't like it as much as Goodbye Lullaby. As catchy as Rock N Roll and Here's To Never Growing Up are, those songs are forgettable and don't really offer anything new or interesting to me as an Avril fan. And Sippin' On Sunshine sounds so much like a Katy Perry song that it's eerie. Give You What You Like is probably in my Top 5 though. It holds the album imo. www.themaxonline.net/2013/11/07/avril-lavigne-avril-lavigne/

I like the album. I think "Bitchin' Summer" would have done well had it been released this summer. It would have set her up for a better fall. (no pun intended)

The sales for this are terrible, but we all had it coming. The delays, the underperfomace of HTNGU and flop of RNR, not proper promo... the only chance is if LMG and the next single do well and maybe the album will have legs to stay selling in the next few months.

Give You What You Like kind of reminds me something. Not a particular song but a style of an artist but I can't put my finger on who. Sounds like something 0304-era Jewel would singβ¦.kinda like Leave The Lights On. I also expect her to burst into the chorus of "Before He Cheats" LOL. I do think it's one of her best songs, easily. Especially listening to it on my home speakers. The vocal production is perfect.
