This is arguably GaGa's biggest hit to date and also happens to be my personal favorite. It hit #1 in nearly every country it charted in and was a massive hit in Europe (it spent 16 weeks at #1 on the Europe hot 100 chart). It is her biggest digital hit in the States and is close to reaching 7 million in digital sales there. It also happened to be the #1 song of 2009 on the United World Singles Chart. Here are some of its chart peaks: Australian Singles Chart 1 Austrian Singles Chart 1 Belgian Singles Chart (Flanders) 1 Belgian Singles Chart (Wallonia) 1 Canadian Hot 100 1 Czech Airplay Chart 2 Danish Singles Chart 1 Dutch Top 40 1 European Hot 100 Singles 1 Finnish Singles Chart 1 French Singles Chart 1 German Singles Chart 1 Hungarian Airplay Chart 1 Irish Singles Chart 1 Italian Singles Chart 2 Japan Hot 100 2 New Zealand Singles Chart 1 Norwegian Singles Chart 1 Slovak Airplay Chart 1 Spanish Singles Chart 2 Swedish Singles Chart 1 Swiss Singles Chart 1 UK Singles Chart 1 US Billboard Hot 100 1 US Hot Dance Club Songs 1 US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs 75 US Pop 100 1

I always thought this was one of her best. Peaked at #5 on my chart.

One of my all-time favorite pop songs. It just never gets old! This will probably always be my favorite Lady Gaga song. For me, I don't think she'll ever be able to top it.

I sort of liked this initially, but due to the gross overplay it received on the radio stations in my market, I got so severely burnt out on it and I began to hate it. The gross overplay also caused me to really dislike Gaga and began to root for her failure and demise of her career (sounds awful, doesn't it?). The Dance station in my market used to play her a lot before she really got huge. I assumed she went away after that and didn't breakthrough because I didn't hear her on the other stations here anymore. Then a few months after that, "Just Dance" suddenly broke through and did well. :o Color me surprised. Then "Poker Face" began to do well. I had completely stopped listening to the radio because they played the same 20 songs over and over and over and over. It was just too much. One day I was in a Blockbuster video store in the used and previously viewed DVDs section and I heard the song in-store. The version was a bit harder and faster than the original. It sounded like some single mix or remix version. I checked at home and Googled a bit and discovered it was the Glam As You remix (I was under the impression initially based on my search that it was the RedOne remix and had mislabeled it as such). I somehow fell in love with the song all over again as if it were a brand new song. It was so fucking awesome! I didn't warm up to Gaga that much until "Lovegame" and "Paparazzi" were singles. The video for "Paparazzi" helped me to like her more. That was a critical turning point for me. The demo version of "Alejandro" was the song that really made me fall in love with her and then stan for her hardcore.
Glam As You Remix
This is one of the few highlights of The Fame. Outside of a few of the singles, I

I thought "Just Dance" was horrible and still do, but this made me take notice. Then "Paparazzi" and The Fame Monster made me like her a lot.

I never liked this until 'Paparazzi' peaked and it was around the time Kid Cudi had 'Make Her Say' out which samples the acoustic version she did live. It took me a lot of time to get into it, but now I like it a lot. 'Just Dance' wasn't immediate for me either, I didn't like it until April 2009 when 'LoveGame' was already on the charts..

One of my least favorite Godga songs. I've always prefered 'Just Dance' over this.

I didn't get into this until early spring of that year. It had the same tempo as "Just Dance", but better. What surprised me was that it was crossing over into hip hop. The Pete Rock remix was spun on Atlanta's WVEE. That version had a midtempo beat. Another version I heard featured rapper Gorilla Zoe. And of course, Kanye West sampled the acoustic version for "Make Her Say". "Poker Face" remains as one of my Top 10 favorite songs of 2009. It's still great to listen to at times.

I don't think she'll ever top this. When Just Dance came out, I was like wow, when this came out, I was addicted, and you knew Gaga was on a whole new level. This was a monster single for her after the sleeper hit Just Dance, it had amazing longevity. As big as it was in America, it was even HUGER in Canada & Europe. Canada got Poker Face when the US was just finding out about Just Dance.
The chorus is epic, especially that last minute of the song after the bridge. It deserves to be one of the top 5 songs of the decade.

This was flawless at the time; now it doesn't hold up as well. But still a great song.

At first I wasn't that big a fan. Maybe the intentionally stuttered hook annoyed me at the time and the fact she was kind of speaking on some of it. Then weeks later I got to really loving it.

This is one of her best, but I don't think it's aging particularly well. Even with electro-pop still dominating, this already feels like really dated electro-pop.

This still remains to be my favorite from her. It was that song that really made me interested in her and she still hasn't topped it in quality for me (though she has come close on numerous occasions).

I remember coming across this song around the end of Summer 2008 when Just Dance was a hit in Europe and being really really impressed. I still wasn't sure what was going to happen with Lady Gaga at the time (her album had yet to be released anywhere), but I remember hoping really hard that this song would be a hit. Needless to say, my hopes were answered beyond my wildest dreams. I didn't like her act in general during this period, but this is just so undeniable.

I like the version they used to play on AT20 and sometimes on AT40. I'd never heard that version anywhere else except on those 2 shows.

Great song and I still love it, but I have to say I always will prefer "Just Dance" to this.

I remember they were originally going to release "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" as the second single but they also released this as a promo single. Thankfully they made the CORRECT choice and released this second.

I have my own lyrics I sing whenever I hear the song. "I'll get her cold, show her that I'm old!"

This has aged terribly for me, although it was a jam when it came out.
The only single I still love from this era is "Just Dance."

I mean it's good but it's overrated as hell. LOVE the Space Cowboy remix though.

I loved this at the time but it hasn't aged well at all. I still like it, but I agree that it's overrated. She has much better.
